  1. Past hour
  2. Im so glad you started this new thread, i think that
  3. I have been stanning for Wisner since the end of last year. I think he is a great college RB and I love him. Wisner is not an elite RB. In his defense, neither is the offense he plays in. As for Sark and change, numb nuts was still running 12 man packages against aggie. He can't give them up, he won't. His hand was absolutely forced to play 11 package, and despite it being extremely productive his dumb ass goes right fucking back to it. His career at Texas supports the conclusion he always will. Coach Swip Swap Swill ain't changing outside of when he is absolutely forced to. Don't be surprised to see Texas come out in 12 package to start the bowl and against OSU next fall. In fact, I'll be shocked if he doesn't. Grateful, but I'll believe it when I see it.
  4. Tim Settle done for the year.
  5. I started to post this in one of the existing threads but thought I’d go this route to shift the focus from “what’s wrong” to “what it could be”. I liked Gruden’s idea of more play-in games on CCG Saturday but I don’t think it goes far enough as a long term fix. So, here goes… The Super Bowl pits the AFC champ vs the NFC champ - doesn’t matter if the 2 or 3 or 7 best teams are all on one side or the other - the Super Bowl will always be AFC vs NFC. Fast forward to a new college football playoff landscape, what’s your preferred format? I know there are some that want this but is there really a majority that would want it to be BIG vs SEC all the time and all the time BIG vs SEC? Like AFC vs NFC? My fandom doesn’t stem from following a blue blood program - I went to high school in Lubbock (college ACU) but I still live in Lubbock and therefore I support and follow Texas Tech. But I was born in Los Angeles and didn’t move to Texas until I was 15. The blue bloods were all I ever knew as they were the teams always on TV and playing in the bowl games on New Years Day (the majority of my early college football viewing) So I’m an outsider regarding blue bloods but I understand their perspective of not wanting to share that which they have built. But is that really what’s best for the future of the game? I’m curious if you Longhorns truly want that sort of contraction? I’m open to hear your pros and cons for going that route. As for me and my personal non blue blood perspective and fandom, I always enjoyed the regionality of the SWC - wish Arkansas never left. When we moved to Texas, I hadn’t heard of Texas Tech but I knew about Texas and Arkansas and Oklahoma - and Aggy because of the movie “Best Little Whorehouse In Texas” - lol But I REALLY liked the original Big12 - save for screwing up the OU/NU game. And I would like to see a return to something similar to those affiliations - doesn’t have to be exact but close. The scarcity of teams out west make if difficult to do with a good and equal distribution of program size and strength. But I believe it’s worth pursuing. If nothing else, the transfer portal and NIL age has shown us who’s committed and who isn’t (so far) - so maybe that’s a starting point on where the cut line should be. Texas Tech and BYU have made it known with their recent contracts that they are committed. With that being said, here’s my wish list: Eight conferences of 9 teams (8x9=72) Playoffs are the 8 champs and 8 at-large based on w/l record - regular season is 8 conf game + 4 (max of 2 vs teams outside the 72) I don’t want to list my entire 72 here now but I would like to see these traditional rivals stay together as group “starter kits” if you will for the 8 leagues - SC, UCLA, UO, UW - NU, OU, TX, ATM - UI, UM, tOSU, PSU - UA, AU, LSU, UGA - UF, FSU, UM - ND, AF, Army, Navy I guess that’s all I got, the rest can be filled in. As for my preference for Tech, Lubbock is already pretty remote so besides the Dallas area, regionality doesn’t exist. So, the only one I’d for sure like to be back in the same conference with is Nebraska - I guess that eliminates Texas from consideration - lol Cheers!!
  6. It’s possible to come back to full strength from the surgery he had. It might take more than 12 months. Willis McGahee had a similar injury and played a long time in the NFL. Of course he was better to start with. But it’s possible to get back to what you were. I’m sure there are other examples besides just the one exception.
  7. One change I can see is that all conference champs have to be in the top 25 for the AQ and if a champ ends up unraked (i.e., if Duke were to win), it opens up another at-large spot (which would likely be Miami ironically depsite losing the ACC 2nd place tiebreaker).
  8. I went to high school with his wife. Elysian Fields, TX.
  9. Thats Annabella Sciorra?
  10. I saw him in the post-game locker room video after the KC game and I liked his hype. It was still a shit hire by a shit owner. He can always prove me wrong and if that happens, it's no credit to jerry, it'll be a blind squirrel finding a nut.
  11. I know it's hard, but they're fun to watch right now...even in losses. And the guys like Flagg, Nembhard, Christie, even PJ, who'll be here for a while, are worth it. Oh I agree...i'm hoping the gut all the old guys by the trade deadline. Russell too. heck I'm okay with getting something for Lively now too...he's tall injured guy now, and they never stay healthy. Not long term at least.
  12. Inside the five, Sark's offenses have sucked since he's been here. No elite talent other than QB? Huh? Wisner is an elite runner and he's going to be playing in the NFL. Three-quarters of the running plays Sark called were either delays straight up the middle or delays to the weak side of the field, i.e. not much running room. Looked more like his run plays were lazily designed to be interchangeable for EITHER the speedy elusive Wisner or the sluggish Baxter. "I think he abandoned the run more than he should have..." Are you serious? look no further than the Aggie game. When Sark finally decided to give the running game a chance, the entire complexion of the game changed. We dominated them, and our defense got some much needed rest - just like the days of yore when we stomped pretenders into the ground without any passing. Not saying that's ideal, just that you need a run game. You need balance, and we didn't have it, especially in the games we lost, especially to fucking Florida. Now that could be because the run wasn't working, because Sark really didn't give a damn enough to devise an effective run game for a real star - Wisner. The new Sark needs to realize just how fucking important the run is going forward.
  13. In the era of the transfer portal Sean Miller only gets to blame RT for year 1. Next year's team better look a lot better than this one.
  14. No shit
  15. I used to like that movie, but the more times I see it, the more stupid it becomes. Most of the characters are unlikable in different ways, and the dialogue is dogshit. I'd like to have Lorelai Gilmore's thong in my mouth.

  17. Disagree. We can all hope and pray and wax poetic about Baxter all we want until he graduates out or hits the portal. There is nothing wrong with rooting for and hoping the get the best year out of a kid who has by all accounts done his best to be a good teammate and represented UT well. Obviously injuries suck and it's not his fault he got some bad ones. What the scouting/GM/coach types need to do is to give up on the Baxter dream. He's a lottery ticket if he stays on the roster. If it hits next year, great. If it doesn't, it was worth a roster spot for next year and hopefully diminished NIL with the understanding that he needs to help Cooper come along if it's not happening next year.
  18. Rivals now saying that Anderson has signed with LSU
