  1. Past hour
  2. Whatever. Technology makes everything better. Why do you hate progress, libtard? Seriously....taking all humanity and morality out of the mix (which is an inevitability with a non-sentient intelligence), what could go wrong? At the end of the day, AI is just math. Just more 1s and 0s spitting out more 1s and 0s. We are in the process of turning over the most human of our thinking and functions to it, and all of the things that can go wrong, especially morally, are starting to happen. It's not like we need to conjure up such scenarios; sci fi writers have been doing a damned fine job of spotting these weaknesses for 100 years or so. It's all there for the reading. But we're going to make ALL of the mistakes anyway, because the greatest force in the universe is actually human hubris.
  3. Not if Shadeur released the ball when I noted. Look, based on your historical posts in this thread its pretty clear you're simping for Shadeur (and Deion) for emotional reasons. You're not looking at things rationally and that's your right. You've picked the Shadeur hill to die on, and that's also your right, but it won't end well. If you aren't going to logically look at the evidence presented there isn’t need for further discussion on the topic.
  4. I don't wear tshirts with slogans or quotes on them, but I could be tempted to buy one if this was on it.
  5. Batts Hall was the 6 pack that even in the late 90's felt like it's best days were 100 years behind it, right? I failed English in that venerable hall. Middle left of the six pack if memory serves.
  6. Anything on Cam Williams?
  7. i am trying to imagine a level of obtuseness required to imply that making the conscientious and planned decision to wear a trump shirt for your big social media announcement regarding your wholly unrelated football career does not clearly reflect an endorsement and advocacy of the man's agenda, his presidency, and his worldview. that's some next level absurdity. but at the end of the day, thank fucking god i never have to see that complete dipshit routinely sack himself in a full formed pocket or needlessly turn the ball over and cost us the sec championship and possibly a national championship ever fucking again. the second halves of the arkansas, kentucky, aggie, and second georgia games are seriously some of the worst quarterback play that has ever been seen at the university of texas...including tyrone swoops and hudson fucking card.
  8. We might not. I was just going on the fact that we have them both in Austin this year.
  9. How hard could Plan II Physics at UT Austin be? I mean, you just use 82 character-long formulas that look like bit encryption to try and prove dark energy in a novel and unique way. Big whoop. Seen harder on campus.
  10. It's going to be hard to do. We're stuck with Semien and Joc because of their contracts. Would have to pay someone to take them. Higgy will be here on a reasonable deal. Heim should have a reasonable arbitration cost attached, but also he's been horrible and advanced stats don't even like his defense anymore. I wouldn't mind if they move on there. Langford, Jung, Burger, Smith, and Carter are all cheap. The big question for me is Adolis. He's arb-eligible next year, probably set to earn around the same $9-ish million he got this year. But he's been dreadful at the plate for two full years now. I don't think you can just cross your fingers and hope he gets better. We've got some money coming off the books with Gray and Mahle. That's almost $30m right there. But they have to completely rebuild the bullpen again, and need a starter.
  11. I think the problem as far as DeVitto, Javors, and Stegmeyer (sounds like a law firm name) were concerned was the manner in which it went down. On the Hired Gun documentary, Javors says that he learned he was out from hearing a report on the radio in his car while he was driving around. Presumably, Stegmeyer found out in similar fashion. DeVitto (who continued to work with Joel for several more years) said on HG that he found out he had been ousted when he went to board the plane during a break in the tour (the band was apparently flying back to NY to spend Easter with their families) and was told there was no room for him. Obviously, HG only presented their side of the story, but if what Javors and DeVitto said in the documentary is even partially true, that's a pretty shitty way to treat members of the band that have been playing with you for years. At least have the courtesy (and the balls) to tell them face-to-face when they're being given the chop. I'd be interested to know if Joel has ever commented publicly on the claims that he basically didn't have the balls to tell those guys that they were out. If he has, I've never seen it, but it would be nice to get the other side of the story so to speak. FWIW, DeVitto came across as the opposite of embittered on the HG documentary. Says he would be more than happy to work with Joel again, wishes him well, etc. He also acknowledged that it was BJ who was writing the songs and whose name was on the albums (although it's apparent that the band members helped massage the songs into their final forms). BJ, of course, did not come off so well in Hired Gun.
  12. You summoned him again. Now you’re really gonna get it.
  13. Let me guess, this will happen in two weeks…
  14. I agree. First thing Day has to do on offense is protect his QB. On his roster his WR room is loaded and his TE room is very good. 12 personnel seems to be the best way to do it as he can use them to block for extra protection, can chip the ends, and they can be used in the short game. Might even go 13 and try to run it at times. I just don't see him having Sayin drop back much and try to decipher the coverage, unless we kick their ass early and it's their only chance to get back in the game. I'm expecting a very conservative plan and call on offense for OSU. TyAnthony Smith is a name that hasn't been spoken much this camp, but he could be crucial to our defense on Saturday.
  15. Whatever, dude. Rabbis are well-known anti-semites. Duh.
  16. Likely not getting better in 2025...
  17. The only heat transfer class I had was French 301 in 1962. There were 32 girls in that Batts Hall room with us three guys, so plenty of heat was transferred all semester….especially me, having just graduated from an all male Catholic high school. No pics of your grandmas.
  18. Almost correct. Moore Hall was added to Hill Hall in 1955. Hill Hall was built in 1939 and housed athletes (potentially including Tom Landry) https://livingnewdeal.org/sites/university-texas-austin-hill-hall-austin-tx/ University of Texas at Austin: Hill Hall – Austin TX City: Austin, TX Site Type: Education and Health, Colleges and Universities New Deal Agencies: Public Works Funding, Public Works Administration (PWA) Completed: 1939 Designer: Paul Philippe Cret Beginning in 1939, the university housed its athletes in Hill Hall. The five story building (including basement) is of Spanish Renaissance style with red roof and tan bricks. The Public Works Administration provided a grant of $46,636 and a loan of $57,000 to cover the cost of construction. When originally opened the building housed 84 men. Hill Hall is named for Dr. Homer Barksdale Hill of Austin who volunteered to treat UT athletes from 1893 until his death on July 18, 1923. As its athletic programs grew, the university added Moore Hall in 1955, just south of Hill Hall and connected to it, to house additional male athletes. Now known as Moore-Hill Residence Hall, it is open to the entire student body. The hall went coed in 2005.

  20. Had him for Plan II physics. Yet again, his was a class I naively walked into thinking "how hard could this be? F=MA and shit, right?" Then he immediately starts in on relativity and quantum shit. First exam, I got a 17....and with a curve, that was a B. A 21 got you an A. Furk. Had to bust my ass for my B in that class. It was really fascinating, though, and he was a genuinely amazing teacher, even if it all largely baffled me.
  21. So to be clear, in your mind, the only reason he is any good is because he's in a terrible conference and has really good players around him.
  22. You've got break a few eggs if you want to make an omelette for the world's first trillionaire.
  23. Well obviously getting government out of our lives, the power of government free capitalism, and traditional checks and balances conservatism to combat the encroaching power of the executive. Either that or xenophobia mixed in with some light anti-intellectual luddism thrown in. One of those two, but I can't decide which.
  24. Citi >>> Yankee. Minus the pregame around the stadium.. unless you want your muffler changed pregame
