Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In
jimmyjazz replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
I've given up trying to suss out the ins and outs of NIL going forward. Any links to articles/posts that might lay out the current implications of the House settlement, the POTUS exec order, 3rd parties, etc. would be appreciated. -
And it still wasn't enough to sate Putin's appetite to erase Ukraine. https://newsukraine.rbc.ua/news/trump-reportedly-offered-to-hand-crimea-and-1753644166.html Austria's Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger said in an interview with Die Welt that Trump was ready to "hand over" Crimea and parts of eastern Ukraine to Russian President Vladimir Putin. But Putin chose to keep fighting. The Minister said the situation is clear: Ukraine wants peace, while Russia does not. Putin would have already started negotiations to end the war if he were truly interested in peace. She said Trump had effectively offered Putin Crimea and several eastern regions of Ukraine, and even ruled out Ukraine's NATO membership. Yet, Putin chose to continue his war of destruction against Ukraine. Meinl-Reisinger also rejected claims that Russia holds an advantage on the battlefield. She reminded that the Kremlin is suffering massive losses in Ukraine, and Putin won't be able to ignore this forever. The Minister said that coffins will continue to pile up in Russia, and combined with the country's worsening economic crisis, it is becoming harder for the Kremlin to sustain the war. According to her, Putin realizes he is running out of time, which is why he is escalating the war with such brutal intensity.

We got a nice little shower in Driftwood in the late afternoon yesterday. 10 min of really hard rain followed by about 10min of light rain. It immediately cooled everything off.

Dem Strategeries For Mass Cult Reprogramming
Bozo_Casanova replied to Al Bundy's Napoleon Hand's topic in Cloak Room
I'll tell you what legitimately works - start talking about how rural Texas is dying because of one-party rule. This is completely wrong. Democrats shouldn't stop working on or talking about social issues. But talking to the majority about things that have nothing to do with their daily struggles is bet best confusing, but mostly comes off as arrogant and elitist, which it usually is. It conveys that the people addressing them are immune or not impacted with those struggles, which in this case they often are. Here's how to talk about social issues in a way that works: Talk to the majority about how and why they are getting fucked over. And then when the brain washed Republicans start talking about drag queens, you get to say "what is your problem? Drag queens didn't close the hospital and drag queens didn't say no to giving you cheaper health insurance. You don't know a single drag queen, but I bet you could use lower property taxes. And unless you change the way you vote, you won't ever get them." -
The Republican Party = Pedophile Party The Republican Party = The party who is okay with, and celebrates, giving a child sex trafficker a pardon Dems have their messaging, will they use it?

Discussion of these idiots and douchebags leaving town, should actually be on the "great things about Austin" thread that you started.

I sent an email this morning just to see what they would say about it, here is their response:

The stretch ahead from 7/28 to 8/13 is historically the hottest period of the year in Texas, based on daily average high temperature. Gonna be hot and muggy out there for quite while, but still not seeing any triple digits in the forecast. Interestingly, even though it seems like it's been a rather mild Summer this year, the guys on SCW were talking the other day about how 2025 will end up as the 7th hottest summer of the last ~150 years in Houston based on daily average temperature. This is because although daytime highs have not been extreme, we're not really cooling off much at nights. Can definitely confirm this was the case last night, when I went outside to grab a drink out of the patio fridge around 10 pm and I'm sure the heat index had to still be above 90.

I finally read the article and, man, I hope that whole crew all talks to each other and collectively agrees to F off to somewhere else. I mean, the list of names tells me I am very supportive of them leaving including some D-bag who calls himself Lucky Blue Smith. Oh... and how I know Tim Dillon does not know a thing about Austin, "'It's not the live music capital of America. It's three heroin addicts busking with guitars. There's zero talent here in any capacity,' he raged." What a total moron.

*shrugs* It's ok, I've been lost. I have no faith anymore in either party. If someone gives me something worthy of my belief and energy, I'll believe in it. They have not as previously described, so... :shrugs: Also, it's a ternary choice. R, D or stay home. -

M's have three against the A's and three against the White Sox on either side of their four game series against us. Maybe they get The Little A's That Could version that just went to Houston. -
Just makes me want Constantine 2 instead of watching whatever this is

We’re about the same age. I remember thinking that I definitely wanted to see this “octopussy” movie, but I didn’t want to see it with my parents. Unfortunately, I was 7, so what are you gonna do. -
BTW, the Pecos cantaloupes this season are exceptionally kickass. We’ve eaten a dozen or so in July. Very sweet and great texture.

From Miriam Webster: What to Know The three plurals for octopus come from the different ways the English language adopts plurals. Octopi is the oldest plural of octopus, coming from the belief that words of Latin origin should have Latin endings. Octopuses was the next plural, giving the word an English ending to match its adoption as an English word. Lastly, octopodes stemmed from the belief that because octopus is originally Greek, it should have a Greek ending. I'm very much enjoying the pedantic language discussion! -

There is no agenda other than hatred with the Republican Party. They have no interest in actually bringing back "patriotism" for the country (reference their comments towards our national women's sports teams.) They aren't genuinely trying to increase the influence of religion (woke Pope!) There's no desire to shrink government (immune President) or reduce the deficit (big beautiful bill) or free trade (**gestures at everything**) The only core belief of the Republican party is hatred. It's why the greatest hater of all time became their leader and why he will never be toppled.

Octopuses is correct. You don’t use a Latin plural for a Greek root word. -
