Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen

Starting as a freshman is also a real bad idea for quarterbacks. -
Aggie doesn't lose, just runs out of time. Cult propaganda out front should have told ya. Also I know you and @notre dame joe are both petrified of the onslaught coming for you in South Bend. TD Jesus can't save you!!! - an old army idgit definitely
-
He was very big in Sheboygan as the fucking Polka King of the Midwest. Don't sell him short.

What new UT gear are you looking to buy this year?
texifornia replied to GhostOfTomJoad's topic in Football
I think it looks great, but I can't imagine buying an expensive white jacket that I'm supposed to wear at football tailgates and assorted other drinking and messy food events. -
That's Taliban type shit right there. Recall the stupid reasoning for fighting "terror" was because they hated freedom according to the genius W. Bush? We're no longer about freedom and liberty. The polls posted by @C-Man are revolting. I'm not 50. Such horrible irony that he is being literal. Pundits and paper will not grasp the biggest story in their lives, they will nibble at the edges and congratulate their efforts at fatal contrarianism. Yes, you dumb, big-picture-missing motherfucker, D.C. does have a serious crime problem. It is home to the biggest most heinous crime the republic will likely ever know. Send the Army to the White House is you want to stop it. Purge the agencies of their appointees. Or you can take make a show of being open-minded by counting the number of post-grads fellating each other on the head of a pin. Tell me what the data shows. This republic is failed by every big player. The lower courts tried, but we see how that ends up.

All false propaganda. Sadly. But even when I believed that it seemed weird since plenty of his generals were from states that didn't secede, like Hood from Kentucky, and he didn't think they were dishonorable. Lee did break his oath. He was the ONLY high ranking Virginian in the US military to do so. And he absolutely did hate abolitionists and support slavery. His views were absolutely typical of a Southern Planter at the time. But there was this one time he lost his temper and beat the shit out of a woman and that did tear as his conscience. His hand wringing over this incident is why people think he was anti-slavery.

If you want to post stuff like this, more context on what they actually said would be appreciated Bell has done an interview and mentioned sitting behind Arch for a year, so he (like everyone else around Texas) already knew he was returning before Archie’s comment -
Nice shot put delivery.

From four hours ago - seems pretty shaky -
It's definitely meant to distract, but it's also far more than performative. They're laying the groundwork for full martial law if they think they need it next election. Nobody of substance in the gop has the balls to push back on clearly fascist bullshit because it's their team. Even if purely performative, the gop is going with it, and their voters aren't concerned. We are fucked as a country if we can't get get some new voters to step up and vote against this because nobody is jumping ship at this point on the other side.

Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In

To be fair, I said Snow White/Magic Kingdown party. For all we know it's Avengers or Star Wars and CloseToJaggering and his Disney nostalgia chose to buck the trend and go with Grumpy. -
He didn't even know about hybrid vehicles (yes, like the ones from Season 4 of Curb Your Enthusiasm, which would've aired over a decade before Hank went to Aramco)

Asked a buddy from Midland about this. He graduated from Lee in the late 80s, went to UT. He said reality is that Midland was founded in 1885, had no slaves, and the inhabitants were mostly midwesterners from Kansas and Missouri. R E Lee was built in 1962, and he believes the locals were highly motivated to name the school RE Lee specifically because of the desegregation battle going on at the time. The other HS in town - the black HS - was named George Washington Carver. Definitely a "separate but equal" vibe there. For anyone in 2025 to claim it was about "heritage" and renaming is a "woke" act, ignores this history. So racists gonna racist, just a couple generations down the line.

Yeah, I got an order of chips late one night in London. Damn, it was crazy. Like at least 1 lb. I had the rest for breakfast.

If B Wizzle 2145 says it, well take it to the bank. Also it's a coin flop that that guy's actual name is Brad or Braydyn Wizzle and 2145 is his 401k balance. -

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet
BurntEyes replied to Coach pop a bitch's topic in Football
Well man, I'm glad you said it first but it needed to be said that 100% of Texas failures since 2005 have absolutely been on the shoulders of VY. You see VY simply set way too high a bar for Texas athletics and in particular the QB position. Had VY not performed to the level he did, Colt getting us to the national championship would have sufficed. Ewers making the playoffs twice would have made us happy. If VY had just dialed back his abilities, stuck to the GDGD script, played afraid like his HC told him and not gone out and beat every team, this thread would be nothing but compliments of Ewers. Now look at us. We all want to compete for and win the NC every damn year. Thanks a lot VY. I know this will be an unpopular take and I commend you for being the first to bring it up. -
Yeah I figured that out when I got a tax calculator. I would actually pay less tax in California in my position. But the big earners would get soaked. I cannot speak to the cost of living though. I imagine living inland in California is not too bad. Those coastal cities seem pretty horrifyingly expensive but I have only ever visited them.

A large contingent of the fan base sure does seem invested in Livingston being great, but for the life of me I just can’t figure out why that is. -
Don’t know what I was expecting but 2 episodes in and I’m kinda underwhelmed. Bobby in the beer episode seemed kinda like a dick to Hank, and how did Hank not know Dale was elected Mayor, did he go to Saudi Arabia and not keep touch back home?

I know I've made this pitch before around here, but I was shocked to conclude that some of the best fries I've ever had are....Bill Miller BBQ. Because they have always used beef fat. Don't go there often (because there's not much else there we like, and there's not one nearby), but a small order from there is top notch. Salty Sow also has really good fries. What we CAN'T find here is a proper British chip: We get 'em when we're in the UK, but again....the order size is ridiculous. One side of them is more than my wife and I can eat.
