  5. Bobby’s update today is worth the read. He continues to be very bullish on Texas adding 2-3 more key recruits before August 1. He seems convinced that Sarkisian has a plan and that various other programs, less so. Echoes of the past cycles, but with different dynamics. Some programs have clearly gone from the pendulum swinging away from their bags and being generally poor to now just saying “fuck it, make it rain” without any regard for roster impacts in classes behind or after this one. He also mentioned needing another Safety for the first time. He also set the expectation that he still thinks Texas is going to get another big time DT. I can’t even remember who is still on the radar and uncommitted. Finally, and this is probably just wishful thinking, but having read he and Gerry for years, I think he’s got an insight to the Cooper recruitment that is giving him a lot of confidence. Someone who urgently needs the approval of various ne’er-do-wells on this forum should C&P it for everyone. @BurntOrange&White
  6. God, the @humblebrag Twitter account was so good. It feels like a lifetime ago. I just looked it up, the account was active from 2010-2015 until the user (comedic writer Harris Wittels) passed away in 2015. At the time it was such a fascinating phenomenon and harmless, funny criticism of human behavior. Now we live in social media hell with Trumpism, bots, and foreign bad actors. Fuck, we are fucked.
  7. I'm using one of these with my Vox AC10, and I think I need the isolated version. The other two power supplies mentioned above are isolated and there is an isolated version of this MXR. Just throwing that out there for anyone with an AC10 trying to find a noisy gremlin. It's probably the PS.
  8. I love KG, but that is a long way from barbecue. I bet it's good, though. @HenryJames have you tried Parish Barbecue which is a half block up the road?

  10. You mean, other than because he told them he was going to?
  11. Somewhat related, I am like a little Keith Richards in that I pick way up by the neck, but I've been working on some twang lately with a Strat and picking back by the bridge for single note lines. Turns out that slap back is a bigger part of that sound than I really ever gave credit for. I added a little in the monitors and it was like "oh yeah, there it is."
  12. Tried all that but what eventually worked was just deleting all Chrome cache. Just in case anyone else has issues.
  13. WTF? Where in the Hell did those thoughts come from? Hook’em!!!

  15. One is orders of magnitude less crappy than the others. and to your point about the strong executive, which of those choices is most likely to be aware of where they need help and surround themselves with capable people rather than reward his cronies with largesse?
  16. If you feel like being brave; play rhythm with the tele bridge
  17. Or a completely inexperienced guy who thinks more of the same except with more visible symbolic action will make NYC more affordable. I know who I’d vote for if I could, but those are all very crappy options. This is a great example of why I hate the strong Mayor system so much. City government is too tangible and present in our lives to choose executive managers responsible for sanitation, transit and land use (let alone truly knowledge based fields like construction standards, schools and law enforcement) based on what mouth noises a plurality of voters finds least challenging. It’s the best example I can point to of what Christopher Hitchens’ called politics being reduced to “a sordid auction between banal populists.” The only thing shocking about this round is that they haven’t had such a depressing field before.
  18. He didn’t sacrifice himself. He became part of Chunks family at the end.
  19. Well it was a fun dream for a minute.
  20. Posting this in both DT and CR, very longcat Facebook post from a HS friend of mine who is a defense attorney and whose wife is the exact kind of US citizen who is being threatened by Trump's policies. Spoilering because quite long but worth the read.
  21. Why are these people called settlers? They are religious fanatics
  22. Neanderthal McCarthyism. Even a caveman can persecute you!
