  1. Past hour
  2. Well said. It's a racket and a check th box to feel like a good parent. Even the kids and young-ens are wise to it now though.
  3. Could they go undefeated? Could VY bring a natty back to Austin, Texas, baby?
  4. Spent two weeks on the coast of SoCal bouncing between Mission Beach to Pacific all the way up to Laguna, Newport and Huntington. Historically we've always rated San Diego very high, but man, the OC beaches were so much prettier, nicer (aka no Kelp forest mazes with gnats everywhere) and the waves were a lot more crashier and fun. If you are like me and have previously thought of SD as the gold standard it's worth at least testing that theory again.
  5. "Excuse me, Mr. Snek. Will you please show me your butthole?"
  6. And everybody missed the good old days then, too.
  7. If we flip Lee, it won't be because of NIL. There's a decent chance Moore is fired after this year if they can't put together an offense that can score more than 10 points.
  8. Nah, they're content to get people that "have to make the trip" for their kid's childhood and will pay through the nose for a substandard resort and all the LL available on new attractions with relatively low capacity. The hyper-nostalgia crowd is disappointed in Disney's trajectory and doesn't make up a large % of their parks income. I'd consider myself part of that nostalgia crew that laments the loss of edutainment like Horizons, World of Motion, The Great Movie Ride, etc...but even I understand that as a business it would be terrible for them to invest in those style attractions in 2025.
  9. 600 lousy bucks? When are all the jobs (that nobody wanted) coming back home to make us great again Josh?
  10. https://archive.ph/G1pnW https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/jul/29/palestinian-awdah-hathaleen-oscar-winning-no-other-land-killed-in-west-bank Awdah Hathaleen, a Palestinian activist and journalist who helped make the Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land, has been killed during an attack by Israeli settlers in the south Hebron hills. The attack on Monday was captured on video, which appears to show an Israeli settler, Yinon Levi, who was put under sanctions by the US president, Joe Biden, then removed from the sanctions list by Donald Trump, firing his gun wildly at the time of the killing. He was arrested later by Israeli police for questioning, though no charges have been filed against him. (pictured: Yinon Levy in the Jerusalem Magistrate's Court, today. Sourced from haaretz.co.il) To top things off, Odeh's family - the murder victims - are being held in jail while the murderer is in house arrest
  11. As far as my wife knows, all of the porn I’ve downloaded over the years was not for my personal consumption, but to train my AI. The article is proof of that. /surly
  12. Yes, retirees with limited income should definitely be paying more tax on illiquid wealth.
  13. What’s funny is that I thought Shaw would be the bell cow of our DT transfers.
  14. You don't sound hardcore enough to appreciate greatness.
  15. That may be a bad idea if Baker looks good. We need Baker engaged. So I think I would move him inside and on the left if he really has already positioned himself into a starting role.
  16. It was towards the front. Don't care if it's empty or not, take that shit to the back of the lot. it was the third and fourth spots in the aisle, not the back half.
  17. I've seen it theorized that autogenocide is the point of all this madness. Curious about y'alls thoughts.
  18. Runaway Mine Train
  19. Would that not be an admission that Americans are paying for Trump's tariff increases?
  20. I don’t know about Texas as a whole but Austin 20 years ago was an outrageously special time and place to be alive. Immaculate vibes.
  21. Welp im neutropenic again. Luckily already at the hospital. On a positive note Luna is having a good time at friend's chasing squirrels and napping.
  22. Morons who don’t understand the simple concept of French fry boxes and how bacon grease and gravity work?
  23. Just got back from Disneyland (and Universal) with the oldest and grandkids. Probably the 5th or 6th time I've done it at this point and I think we are done forever on it. Skip if you don't want to hear an old man rant: Compared to Universal, the lightning lane fast pass thing genie simply sucks. Feels like a waste of money but I honestly couldn't fathom going without it. The lines are atrocious. Universal fast pass is amazing. Even with the paid pass, I had to pay $100+ extra for the Cars road race ride, which was honestly the highlight of both parks. The rides are weirdly boring, in that they are nice to look at set pieces, but just rehash a boiled down plot and are pretty boring. The one cool ride was closed "Incredicoaster" and the Guardians of the Galaxy ride wasn't available for lightning lane and was like a 3 hour wait. All in all, I think the redditor summed it up best: "Universal is actually investing in cool rides and technology and giving customers a great experience, Disney seems content to coast on hyper-nostalgia and adults who will spend on merch and go crazy over a new design of popcorn bucket"
