  2. I posted this on the coaching carousel thread on the FB board, but here you guys go as well. Sorry, but I had to be mum. Since the news is out now, I'll go and add some color. Brewster fucking hates Fisher. He didn't like him before College Station and he didn't want to go to College Station. He attempted to get on staff at UT twice and at OU with Riley. Neither happened, but there was legit interest. So he settled on the offer at ATM. This year has sucked for them internally and the staff isn't "aligned" across the program. Rampant cheating wasn't part of the pitch to everyone coming in, nor was getting browbeaten to work 20+ hour days in order to catch Saban. Brewster and Mack parted on bad terms, but Mack isn't some dumbass. He's going to let Brewster do his thing from the tidewaters of Virginia down through Florida, and he's going to pay him to do it. I doubt this is the only turnover from the ATM staff. Fisher burned through relationships with staff, admins, boosters, players, and the AD when at FSU. It tumbled quickly after the Winston era. Dude does not handle losing well, and he doesn't handle insolence on a level even close to the magnanimity of Dr. Evil or Urban Meyer. This could be both a meteoric rise and collapse at ATM, over the course of the next 5 years.

  3. To be honest, after we uninspiringly wrapped up our trip to the CCG on Friday, I was hoping for a WVa win simply because in a rematch of closely matched teams, the "avenger" of the earlier loss usually has the advantage. Not surprisingly, OU won. Well, we've beaten them already, know the formula, etc., but in my mind I conceded the fact that this was going to be a difficult game to win again and we should be happy with 9-3 and a spot in the CCG in year 2 of the Herman revival. Then Lincoln & Kyler happened. Sometime late Monday, Bob Stoops had to call his young padawan coach and say "Are you effin kidding me?? You sounded like Mack Brown before most of our games complaining about the Beaty issue. We always knew we were winning before the game because they (Texas) always sounded scared. Now you've just done the same." Much has already been said about Kyler on this thread and before. However I'll add this. He ain't up for a fight so to speak. Kid was born on third base with respect to athletic ability, had an upbringing that allowed him to maximize that ability, went to a HS athletic program (Allen) for which the school side of things only exists to service the ambition of the athletic program, and was dropped into a talented roster and system this year to play college football before ducking out for millions to play baseball. Everything is always set up so nicely. Yet, when adversity hit and was effectively outdueled by Ehlinger the first time around, dude couldn't deal with it and one of 2 great memes that our football team has graced us with this year was born. And it seems he has had a problem beating the school he clowned during recruiting a few years back. Lost 5 of 8 in baseball over the last 2 years while not really contributing anything memorable in the games (and certainly not leading his team to a conference title or CWS appearance) and lost the Golden Hat already. So despite the fact that all the experts are already debating whether OU or OSU is more worthy of the 4th spot, I see an OU team that sounds a lot like 2000-2004 Texas and a Texas team that sounds a lot like 2000-2004 OU. Tom Herman, Sam Ehlinger, Charles Omenihu, and the rest of the Longhorns sound confident. Lincoln & Kyler sound scared. That doesn't mean OU won't win. But I'd grab some of that sweet Texas +7.5 action because Texas is going to be girded up to bring the fight to OU in this game - just like they have in the last 2 with Tom Herman at the controls. The "avenger" should normally have the edge in a rematch like this, but I see Texas as the team playing with that edge in this game. Take the loss pussy -----again!

  5. There’s no “win win” in losing to OU. Ever. It’s also lame as hell to laugh at them if they get blasted in a playoff game we weren’t good enough to play in. Just crush them on Saturday. There’s the win win.

Get his dumb ass up there and make him testify under oath. At least make every POS senator who votes against impeachment look like a fucking clown and make their re-election bids that much harder. JFC - grow some god damn balls!

  7. Say what you will, but the game crossed a line in 1999. It went from rivalry fun to something else. A bunch of aggy students died because of neglect and incompetence and we were put in a no-win situation. Our administration tried to show that we were human and did everything we could to show how much we cared. In doing so, our team was neutered. We couldn’t say “yeah, let’s give blood and take care of our Texas brothers, but fuck ‘em up on Friday!” Mack essentially forfeited that game early in the week. How were we rewarded? With nasty signs along the road leading into CS. With phone calls to our players’ rooms all night long despite the request that no calls be put through. With a hotel staff that refused to show up to cook our team’s contractual breakfast. With rude yelling during our band’s moment of silence for the students who were negligently killed. Our humanity was rewarded with a finger in the eye. They showed themselves to be the classless trash they are. Things only devolved from there to the backstabbing and lies that culminated in them attempting to destroy our conference as they ran away from it...making sure that they bailed in a year which would leave them with the last home game in the series. I could say a lot more, but in short: fuck aggy!

  10. I am loath to paraphrase Mack Brown, but he used to say that if he brought recruits to campus and they didn't want to come to Texas then they were either stupid or blind, and in either case he didn't want them. That's how Bru McCoy should be viewed but from the opposite side. USC is circling the drain. They are rudderless from the top of the university on down to the student trainers. If McCoy can't see what he's walking into there, then he deserves to go suffer the consequences like our players lived with through the end of the Buttertoof and Charlie Strong eras. Seems like a good kid and great football player, but if that's how he wants to spend his college career, then good bye and good luck. Also, there is more vagina on this thread than in every thread in the U in her B forum combined. I look forward to the day when this program has its balls back and Herman unleashes the recruiting firepower of a fully armed and operational University of Texas Death Star. The hand wringing here is fucking embarrassing. I can't wait until we regain our rightful stature as the arrogant entitled self-important assholes that we are.

  18. I'm not going to respond to every dumb thing that has been posted on this thread. I'll just say this: I've been involved with more than one custody case with a child who is this young (or younger) with gender identity issues. I've seen it where both parents support the kid, and I've seen it where one parent is adamant that in their care, the child only wants to express as the birth gender and the parents are at each other's throats about it. What you can't loose sight of is that this is literally a life-or-death issue for the child in many cases. And I don't know a single parent who wants to cause their child's death. So you can make all the glib jokes you want, but keep that in mind. It's absolutely a real thing, gender dysphoria in adolescents is a recognized diagnoses in the DSM-IV. You may also hear about a child being "gender fluid" or "gender diverse," but those are really different sides of the same coin. There is some dispute about whether gender dysphoria should be a clinical diagnoses - but it's not because it's not real, it's because some experts don't like it being treated as a mental health issue, and having that stigma. But the fact is that a child's external sex organs absolutely can be mismatched with the child's internal psychology is almost universally accepted - both in humans and other mammals. It's not even really controversial in the medical community (their are splinter groups who claim it is - but it's not). A six year old absolutely understands gender and his or her personal identity, in fact children start expressing their gender identity under 6. Think back to your own kids or yourself if you can - you/they probably knew before kindergarten if they were a boy or a girl. Gender, however, does not mean sexuality. A six year old does not understand sexuality (if they do, that is a sign of sexual abuse) - and this shouldn't be confused with gay/straight/bi type of thing. This is about a child expressing their gender identity, not a sexual preference. You have to unlink the two in your mind, because they don't have the link until closer to/after puberty. I've had an expert say in a trial on this type of issue that an easy way to remember is "Gender is who a person goes to bed AS, Sexuality is who a person goes to bed WITH." Six year olds aren't going to bed with anyone. No one is going to start a 6 year old on any sort of hormone therapy, or do any sort of surgery. That is years away in the best/worst case scenario depending on how you look at it. And it would take a team of doctors to sign off on it, after years of going through a medical evaluation process. At a minimum, a pediatrician, a psychiatrist, and an endocrinologist. And probably some sort of therapist as well. It's not something a parent can just go to a doctor and have done. That is asinine that anyone thinks that would happen just because a parent "wanted it." The kid needs to be in therapy to see if this is a phase they grow out of, or if it is something that is permanent. And the kid needs to be the one to lead, not the parents. And the kid needs to be supported, not judged, or not forced to please a parent. The real risk here is the child committing self harm or suicide if they are not supported by their family. A child with gender identity issues who is not supported by his or her family is 8 times more likely to attempt suicide, six times more likely to experience major depression, and four times more likely to use illegal drugs than a child whose gender identity is supported by their family. Make all the jokes you want - but I come down on the side of having a live child, whatever gender they want to be, rather than on the side forcing a child to live the gender you think they should and causing the child to kill themselves. But that's just me.

  20. That’s my position. Back in the late 90’s Mack Brown wanted to get a feel for the culture and he asked a simple question: “Who would you rather beat: Oklahoma or Texas A&M?” My answer to that question has always been “Oklahoma is the team that you want to beat, Texas A&M is the team that you cannot afford to lose to.” Seriously, there’s no real upside in beating aggy. They’re historically a Tier 2 team, despite what their deluded fan base thinks about it, they’re goofy as fuck, and they talk more shit to Texas fans when they win than OU fans do when in the identical situation. It’s probably because beating Texas is a foreign concept to aggies, but still, they’re too fucking loud for the caliber program that they are. All you want to do when you play them is to quiet them. With OU? Beating them is a euphoric occasion, and they’ll tell you the same damn thing when they speak of beating Texas. So to the person who said that the majority of Texas fans want to see the rivalry resumed, show the evidence. Seriously, who are these people? To the extent they even exist, it’d be very few and they’d be people whose formative years were the 1980’s when aggy was cheating their way to victories over and over. What those people don’t get is that the 1980’s were a historic aberration. Besides, we more than sufficiently corrected the error in the 2000’s. To quote Kylo Ren, let this past die.

  21. Not only are you bad at phrasing, you're quite bad at making arguments... Even though you make try to make them on here, **constantly** and with everyone. If the ultimate destination is the same either way, it doesn't make playing OU a goddamn "win-win". Quit thinking like a giant gaping pussy. We have let these stupid shitbags win one Big 12 Title after another while floundering around. This is a chance to directly and immediately stop that. I want a Big 12 Title. I want to stomp Kyler's bitch ass again. This is important. I don't give a fuck about a mother fucking Sugar Bowl exhibition game. That game is not important.

  24. Because it’s not a trap. Before testifying you are warned to tell the truth and someone will warn you of the consequences for not doing so. It’s not that hard to tell the truth. If I tell you don’t go in that swamp because there are a bunch of gators in there, and you wander into the swamp anyway and get eaten by a gator, did I set an “alligator trap” on you? Nope it means you got eaten by a gator because you’re a dumbass, like trumps good friend Paul. It’s why trumps lawyers won’t let trump testify, they know for an absolute fact he will lie and commit perjury.

  25. You are a long-standing member of this community and your opinion commands respect. That said, your reasonable, calm, and well-worded approach has no place in the reactionary hyperbolic environment we live in today in the post-fact era. First, this is totally out there. As in, this guy, is a fag. There is technically only one entity here that is an arm of the state. The University. The other institution in question remains a subsidiary of The University as per the Constitution of the State of Texas. The game in question may have been played for more than 100 years, however the vast majority of your fellow alumni hated the game, detest the other institution, and hope their 100-year decision lasts for One Thousand Years. Quite frankly, never having to set foot again in that municipality, much less that stadium, is a gift that not even God himself could have bestowed upon our fellow alumni, fans and families. And this opinion is held by the only people that matter: alumni, staff, friends and family of The University of Texas at Austin. Any other citizen of the State of Texas who wishes to advocate for the forced renewal of this albatross of a game can, simply, pound sand. They have no say. Their opinion matters not. Most importantly, the game did not cease to be played over "bruised egos and a few million bucks". The game stopped because the other institution ran away. Anyone who "doesn't give a shit about which side started this slap fight" needs to understand that there is no slap fight. There is no them. There is only us. And the only opinion that matters is ours.. The other institution will be entitled to an opinion when they endorse and see through the legislature a full divorce of the two entities via an Amendment to the Constitution of the State of Texas, which shall also eliminate forever their annual claim to 33% of the Available University Fund. In other words, when we get to keep all of our money, anyone else can have a say. And an opinion. Which will remain of no value.

  29. We aren't getting Bru and we shouldn't have recruited him in the first place. He was always going to USC and it just scares me to death that we thought we could go out to California and take a top prospect. We need to stick to Texas (preferably central Texas) where all the kids already want to come to UT and we don't risk getting turned down. And there are fires all the time out there in California, it's a terrifying place.

  31. I don't get why people are just conceding Bru to USC. They're a dumpster fire. Why would he go to a program that has no OC, a coach that's going to be fired, and no DC? Not to mention the Floyd's are in his ear, which to me is the most important thing. This reminds me of the bitchassness of Malik and Brandon Jones. Everyone was saying they're going to aggy, only for them to pick us. Have some faith, man. Bru may choose usc, but if we've learned anything it's not to doubt Herman's ability to land elite kids. Year 2 and we're playing for a conference championship. That's fucking awesome, and kids are taking notice of that. Half of our class is oos commits, so why the gaping vaginas about Bru? Trust Herman. He's already able to sell stability, the chance to play for conference championships, NY6 bowls, CFP next year, and beyond.
