  1. That's why I'm out. There is no end game, IMO. This has to be fixed outside of the market and I got too nervous about what that entails for retail investors. They will always be last on the list, if on the list at all. Think of retail investors as unsecured creditors. If there's anything left, they leave you to fight over it with everyone else. This thing could shoot up another $200 today, it could plummet to the ground, it could get a 10 day SEC halt, I just don't know. As much as I love the idea of this retiring me, it's been a hard year, guys. I've been out of work since COVID locked us down, I have two kids and a mortgage... This lifted a huge weight off my shoulders and I get to treat myself and the family to a couple of nice things while leaving enough in my TDA account to hunt for the next whale. I wanted to ride this thing to the end, but at the same time, I had to do right by my family. By pushing away now, I get to do that. And now I get to watch from the sidelines and enjoy the show. Stay safe out there and Hook'em.

  3. Take all this fwiw, fellas. Kid out of Rockwall Heath is a stud at QB. Hoover. Art Briles saw him and said he’d be his first target behind Ewers. Briles knows QBs. And rape, of course. But he knows QBs. Not coincidentally the player’s first P5 offer, I believe, is Arkansas. Klubinek is a long strider. Great arm, long strider. Weigman is alright. Some folks that do this shit for a living see it Ewers, Hoover, Klub, Weigman in state in that order. Don’t hate me, Westlake honks. If no Ewers, might be a two QB class. Ewers flipping looks moderately unlikely but there’s no reason to be dismissive. Stewart is as media savvy as they come. When he does commit, it’s going to be because he thinks it’s the best moment for exposure. Texas looks good but this guy was Bama recently. It’s all hands on deck right now to keep guys from getting locked into ATM. No territories yet. Irrelevant until they can visit schools and talk to folks. They will sign a TE in this class. Min 4 OLs. Them pushing a lot of offers is picking up a lot of buzz. I’ll give some thoughts on the 2021 thread too.

  5. Haven't mentioned it because didn't need naysayers because it is stupid, but I'm a med student doing this almost purely on my student loans while they're at zero interest. I've made +$20k since December almost exclusively from this thread which with future planned gains will put a significant dent in my med school loan burden. Y'all kick ass and I seriously appreciate it.

  6. Herman’s teams played down to competition, but we never got our asses completely handed to us like we did in the Texas Bowl against Arkansas, or the blowout losses against TCU, Notre Dame, and Iowa State in 2015 (just to name a few). Herman may not be our standard, but he’s miles better than Charlie Strong. This shouldn’t even be a debate. It’s really not even close.

  8. Some thoughts that might be worth what you’re paying for them: -LJ Johnson - this is a crazy recruitment. Dude presses to graduate early. Then he might not show up for spring at either school. He has a chance to compete for backup at either school, instead this guy is going to do footwork for the spring at home and then redshirt after showing up in June? Neither group of coaches is loving the lack of competitiveness. -True to form, the LB from UTenn is going to make sure he gets his. Bama is the likely outcome. If Texas gets this guy, well, bags for sure be droppin’. -The ol’boy out of Seattle ain’t signing on NSD2. He might give Texas an actual look and make it fun, but he’s going to Ohio State. -I am not the only guy watching CFB religiously that thinks Charvonnet is a depth guy. The guys at Texas that are paid to do this are pursuing him because they know better. -Abiara is as close as a lock as we could hope for those still unsigned for 2021. -The PWO kicker is exciting for the staff. Family, HT to @Hank Scorpio, is loaded. Laramie had PWO offers from everyone accordingly. He’s worth a scholarship. If you have an open and obvious question that I didn’t touch on for what is left in this shit show of a class, LMK. I have been hustling on different calls all day and then cooking and got a couple of calls while whipping something up and might not be remembering everything.

  21. I always find this sentiment really interesting when it pops up because it almost exclusively comes 1.) From people who will, with a straight face, argue that black people today face no real impact from slavery or Jim Crow because it was so long ago and they weren’t alive, while of course they themselves had fuck all to do with the American war effort in WWII, and 2.) Without acknowledgment that America currently leads the west in production and acceptance of Nazis by a wide margin.

  25. Say what now? Seattle and Portland are the originals when it comes to weirdness. Austin may have given them a run for the money 25 years ago or so, but not these days when the weirdness seems a little forced. Weirdness has changed in Austin, Portland, and Seattle. Austin use to be Willie Nelson and Vietnam vet liberal. Seattle and Portland use to have their own flavor based on the fishing industry. San Francisco was home to flower children. Now they are all pretty standard California liberal. I wouldn't call any of them weird at all: It isn't counterculture. It is like someone coloring their hair red, getting a mohawk, wearing leather and going to a punk bar. Everyone is the same and they are just doing the same thing their friends are doing so they can fit into their own clique.

  31. None of it is illegal, in my opinion. The only thing that isn't right about the whole GME trade is that it got so unfathomably overplayed that it ended up with greater than 100% short interest. Citron and Melvin made the correct bet, they just so egregiously overbet it that there was no possible alternative to this happening. In other words, they're the hogs getting slaughtered, and they deserve every second of it.

  32. this is going to be ironically written about as the week a populist mob movement organically pumped poor dying companies and destroyed the hedge fund short market makers...when it was actually the world's largest shadow bank perpetrating a public execution of a nuisance to them. really good work, @Eastwood.

  33. I mean, you and I think that's good -- we'll get the GOP on record supporting treason. Here's the problem: the GOP base is just fine with treason. They fucking LIKE treason. They fucking WANT treason. If you offered them the option of "how about the GOP members of congress just shoot all the Dem members, and take over the government," they'd be in favor of it.

  39. I was at Boca de Pascuales over 20 years ago with a big group of friends. We met 3 sisters who owned a small restaurant right on the beach (not hot at all) and hung out there for 10 days eating cevichi, camerones a la diabla, and drinking them out of beer every day. One of the sisters had a 3 year old daughter that didn't listen for shit. She liked to show off for the visitors, you know, a pretty typical kid. One of her aunts told her to do something and the little girl back talked her. The aunt started coming towards her and the little girl took off around a a few long tables. The aunt got to the end, leaned around the table with a flip flop in her hand, and launched it at the girl about 20 feet away. It hit her square in the ass and knocked her over in the sand. The little girl burst into tears as her aunt picked her saying all sorts of shit to her and we all burst out laughing. It was Greg Maddoxish the control she had on that flip flop.
