  1. I was on a call this weekend about NIL stuff and this was tangentially discussed. The ATM meltdown was as paint by numbers as we would all expect. The funny part is that the national media folks simply cannot fathom the behaviors they've exhibited actually being organic and genuine and not part of some higher strategy. I listened to Luginbill and Sallee trying to rationalize it all yesterday because the reality is too unbelievable to them. ATM was kept in the dark. I was told that on Wednesdays once the news was out and I spoke to a friend, and I posted it here that day. The media is buying the narrative that Bohls was wrong on that and they knew at higher levels. They did not. They were kept in the dark because everyone feared they'd immediately try to fuck the whole thing up. Check. The SEC circled its votes, formed a consensus among the others, then waited until they absolutely had to notify ATM (and Missouri) last week, so that Texas and OU could do what was needed quickly. They had the opportunity to informally discuss everything at media days without anything having to be officially public. Check. Missouri was more or less stoked, because the monetary forecast is flat out fucking embarrassing. Any current projections on the boards and such are apparently way too conservative. ATM did what was expected of them - go immediately to friendly press. Check. Then ATM attempts to call the banners with the politicians. Check. As predicted, it flops because of where we are right now with other shit impacting the state politics and generally, Texas just no longer being flat-footed with the state lege. Texas knew there was going to be no lege momentum from gathering intel from that end this spring and summer. ATM then went the next mile in which no one predicted, which was to threaten to leave or sue the conference. That apexed on Friday night. On Saturday morning, they were told to get right or get fucked, their choice, but the conference needed to know by Sunday. ATM immediately began the backpedal from there. As predicted on Wednesday, they will vote affirmatively in the 14-0 vote that is coming.

  2. This was a perfect conference map. Fuck realignment.

  3. Tell your idiot coworker this is how it actually went: Conference opponents threw horns down at Texas for decades. Texas never had a problem with it. Texas got a flag for throwing the horns up during a game (Roy Williams) AT HOME. Texas got a flag for throwing guns down in Lubbock (Mike Davis). Texas said why the fuck is that a penalty? Big 12 finally realized oh yeah that's pretty fucking hypocritical. The end.

  6. It’s hilarious seeing so many sec fans talk about being a good partner and fitting in with the family etc. They’re going to find out real quick we didn’t join to suck their dicks like aggy did. Fuck the Big 12. Fuck the SEC. Fuck everyone not named Texas. We are positioning ourselves for future conquest, not to sing Florida Georgia line with a bunch of self inflated queers that cheer for each other.

  7. Articles like that are exactly why this is happening. Engel and others like him helped create this eventuality but they'll never realize that. They created, fostered, and amplified the environment where Tech and the other second tier schools never bothered to improve themselves and lift themselves into the first tier because it was UT's job to protect them. Meanwhile they constantly complained about UT and ripped the school and athletic department in the press at every opportunity. Which, of course, damaged UT's reputation (albeit slightly) at every step which meant that UT was weaker than it otherwise would have been and less able to protect Tech and the others. He is the exact kind of idiot who has been slowly killing Tech without knowing it.

  9. Not so fast. They're probably just using this as a bargaining chip to get a few more dollars from the Big12. -Helobius, probably.

  15. 0 Any fucking idiot knows we are not going to the SEC to “run thangs” rather we are going to the SEC because awe are tired of having to run thangs in the Big 12 because everyone else in this conferenced expected us to and if we didn’t then no one else would. Part of the appeal of going to the SEC is we are dealing with fucking adults which means we can finally sit back and fucking relax. As much as aggy wants to cunty bitch about how “lil tu is coming to s eeee ceee to try to run thangs round heyah’ the are too fucking fuck stupid to realize Texas has no interested in doing that because we’ve done it so much all fucking ready.

  16. I’m so tired of this “UT has to stay in the big 12 because it would hurt other universities” bullshit. That effectively means UT is handcuffed because other universities are admitting they cannot survive without UT, which means they are riding the UT coattails. How is that fair to UT? Why don’t people write about that point?

  23. You guys can stop handwringing over any of this. Texas and OU will be playing in 2022 in the SEC and the cost of what it takes to get there, if any, won't be coming out of any of our pockets and is already set aside.

  29. No clue. Been slammed, so just trying to keep up with all of this on here as a fan as it pertains to recruiting and team right now. Just the headline on here at some point, so not sure what all is said in there. If they're saying something similar to what I relayed, who knows? I'm sure they've begun working on applying as much pressure in as many ways as they can to force the dissolution of the Big 12 or a happy settlement for both programs to leave soon. I'm sure the Big 12 is dicklessly posturing, meanwhile every program is attempting to sort out its options, the least attractive of which is undoubtedly keeping the Big 12 intact in some sort of absurd stalemate for months on end. Think about the choices, actually: 1) Do nothing. Wait to get paid by OU and Texas, then negotiate with media, collect dollars, dissipate into nothingness as other things get firmed up. (This seems the most on-brand for the Tagalong 8 and Bowlsby, yet also the worst choice.) 2) Add new partners to the Big 12, such as UCF, UH, USF, Cincy, BYU. (This could actually make some sense, so they'll avoid this at all costs.) 3) Every man for himself, run for your lives: -Kansas turns to the AAC and focuses on building a basketball conference since the Big 10 seems indifferent; -Tech and TCU go west if they can, which is starting to get leaked by both of their camps, yet not from the Pac 12; -WVU begs the ACC to consider them and then joins the Big East or AAC quickly (I think they bail first, and I mean soon); -OSU should be offering to fuck, cuck, and/or suck whoever will pick up the phone out west or north; -Baylor goes AAC and convinces themselves that they meant to do that; -ISU needs to find some sort of unscrupulous move that unlocks the ability for them to blackmail their way into the Big 10, such as luring the Big 10 West division to a party in Ames, plying all attending presidents with roofies, and then photographing all of them getting pegged by NowThis' wife and KarenKeyLargo; -KSU should just admit that they're functional retards who haven't even been trying for almost the entirety of the last two decades and their body is ready to join the Big Sky Conference. (I assume some of these moves will eventually get attempted.) 4) Find a way to syndicate a group of themselves into a merger with someone like the AAC and then act like they're still a P5 conference. (This would take vision and strategy, so we should assume there's a .001% chance of this happening, merely because we can actually summon the notion out of the ether.) If they sit around and fuck with Texas and OU, the lawyers will be leaning heavily on things like vetoing new team choices, sovereign immunity, and who knows what else.

  30. Any chance the SEC brass join the aggy conference call today? 😁 Aggy: Tsips. Those whorns! Mother fuckers. Let’s burn down their stadium. We’ll storm the capitol! This aggression will not stand. We will take all their tech companies out of Austin. We’ll bankrupt their town. We’ll get their AAU grant taken away. We’ll steal Bevo and train Reveille to ride it. We’ll strike absolute fear in the heart of every SEC school and their fan base. We’ll take the Corps of Cadets and invade the UT Golf Club and make it our second home base… SEC (after privately listening on a hidden device): What y’all just said has to be some of the most insanely idiotic things we’ve ever heard and we would know…we listen to Finebaum 5 days a week. At no point in your rambling incoherent rant did you utter anything even remotely close to a rational thought. The whole damn conference is now dumber for having to listen to it, and that bar is pretty fucking low. You’re gonna be in the Hate Pod, you will be awarded the toughest schedule we can dream up for the next decade and may God have mercy on your delusional souls. <click>

  31. Well I am not going to say fuck the BIG XII since I remember what things looked like in the SWC before we joined the BIG XII and all us olds were so damn excited when it happened. Instead I will say the following: 1. Thanks to the BIG XII for making the 1998 to 2009 run possible. 2. Thanks for the good times Nebraska. It was fun beating you in 1996, I had a great time tailgating with you guys and thanks for giving Ricky a standing ovation. Also, thanks Nebraska fans for teaching us how to be a classy fan base since the pettiness of the small Texas schools and aggy had rubbed off over the years. Some of the younger Texas fans now have the same pettiness since they have not known anything else once Nebraska left. 3. Fuck you KST for beating us even when you were not suppose too. 4. Love Colorado for some good times while they lasted. I still blame Mack and not Colorado for 2001. 5. Once again fuck the SWC Texas schools for fucking us in the 2009 voting. We have been trying to leave you guys since the SWC days. Here we come SEC, I feel no pride in being part of the SEC. It is a business arrangement and the benefits of joining are money, keeping the OU partnership, getting Arky back, having actual adult partners and pissing off aggy. Maybe some day I will feel good about the SEC like I felt about becoming the BIG XII but I may be to old to ever have it happen. This it the best move out there other than the one I wished for earlier so no I am not advocating PAC, BIG, ACC or staying. May another run get going out of this move like the one we took advantage of in the BIG XII.

  33. This fucking thread adds a page every 15 minutes. I come back looking to catch up and then feel bad responding to shit that people wrote only a few hours ago. That said ... Nebraska left for one reason and one reason only - 1-9. That's it. They can claim a million other reasons, but they left because Tom Osborne was angry that Texas was a power in the conference and owned them, so when he got a chance to bail, he took it. Nebraska took their ball and went home. Now they sit powerless and irrelevant without a recruiting base and without any other program giving any fucks. Fuck them and fuck any equivocating about why they left. You're normally a fine poster here, but get a grip. People hate sissies. Nobody will shag you if you're crying all the time. Maybe if OSU would show up, oh, I don't know, more than once every 20 fucking years and beat OU then people would see things differently. You guys fucking choked every time you possibly could and opened the door for OU to the conference title every fucking time you did it. It's been fucking worse than Texas sucking against them. You're often not even close when it happens. It paints you as perennial also-rans and not worth the fucking hassle for something like big boy realignment. Beyond that, you guys benefitted from the most corrupt officiating event I have witnessed since Roy Jones "lost" in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. That event alone reminded most of us why we fucking hate this conference as it stands now. It took 6 years for gratification, but many of our hopes have always been that we'd find a way out, and for those left behind, they seem to believe that they'll be just fine on their own anyway, so fuck'em. Maybe that makes me and UT fans like me arrogant, but we have zero fucks left to give. We've been called JR Ewing or Darth Vader or Gordon Gekko by the rest of the fucking whiny fanbases out there for the last 30 years. Might as well have the money and power to go with it, I guess. You are losing your fucking grip if you think "everyone was prepared", dude. That position is flatly laughable and indefensible.

  36. So in summary: What's left of the Big 12 are a bunch of shitty teams that no one else really wants. Those shitty teams have ZERO leadership to keep the shitty conference together. The same Texas that has been shit on for years for "running the conference" is now shit on for not subsidizing this group of outcasts and misfits. Is that about right? Good riddance Big 12!

  37. I have to say it's refreshing to see a competent Texas administration. They played this exactly as it needed to happen. This isn't Deloss puffing his bloated cow chest out crowing about how "we're the Joneses" or "we'll be the last word in realignment". They did everything they needed to do while saying nothing to anyone who did not need to know.

  38. Counterpoint: I'd rather subsidize no one any further. Why are you trying to reason with this stupid fucking knob at this point? You going to show Randolph Duke the fucking light next? Stop saying "us." You're literally too stupid for words or to even claim any association to Texas. I'll bet you $10,000 right now that Texas is gone before 2025. Immamac can hold it. It's not really a wager because a 10 year old can read tea leaves more accurately than you. With your situational awareness it's somewhat mathematically amazing you haven't been hit by a moving vehicle yet. At least, I assume you haven't. Fuck.
