  1. What the title says. For all the shit we've given him, he has persevered. He wasn't great, but he played his heart out, and did it hurt. Respect.

  5. Anyone who thinks UTSA is going to derail this season after last week's performance has something totally broken in their brains. This team has shown VAST improvement over last year's team against an incredibly high quality opponent. Last year's team probably wins by 2 scores against UTSA, this year's team is going to skullfuck them. The conversations we are having with those in the locker room are completely different than after the loss to Arkansas last year. The identity of this team from the inside out is much different, not just the product they are showing on the field, but how they are approaching things.

  9. I hear the Brocks asked for Kelvin's autograph after the game. They had to stand in line though since they weren't dressed out.

  10. You look at UTSA over there and it's just all about the tradition that the best breakfast tacos in that city are at Taco Haven on South Presa. Tortillas as fluffy as pancakes.

  16. Being complete morons is not much of a tradition & isn't difficult for "outsiders" to understand. You're a moron, we get it, the whole world gets it. Stop trying to mystify it. You have midnight yell before every home game because you can't remember simple yells from week to week? - morons You make really bad jokes & deliver them terribly? - morons You give a guy that just burned down a blue blood program in a weak conference ~$100mm guaranteed at a non-blue blood program in a difficult conference? - morons You hiss instead of boo? - morons Dudes in white jumpsuits looking like they just broke out of prison instead of cheerleaders? - morons Squeezing your nuts in hopes of yelling louder? - morons (squeeze harder & maybe there won't be a new generation of morons one day) None of falls under "people just don't understand us or our traditions". It's all fairly obvious.

  17. From the link... OT Kelvin Banks – Texas Texas left tackle Kelvin Banks is the lone repeat standout from last week. Holding your own against Alabama and Will Anderson – one of the college football’s best pass rushers in recent memory – is certainly enough for recognition on consecutive weeks. Banks was a key part of a young Longhorn offensive front that held up quite well in the 20-19 loss to the nation’s No. 1 ranked team. On3’s top-ranked tackle in the 2022 cycle gave up just one pressure and zero sacks in 45 pass blocking attempts against the Crimson Tide front, per Pro Football Focus. Banks was not the only true freshman offensive lineman to perform at a high level for Texas. Cole Hutson started his second game at right guard and also gave up just one pressure on the day. The season is very young, but Banks’ performance as an 18-year old true freshman left tackle is certainly fitting of his No. 6 overall ranking from On3.

  18. Bama fan here: I thought the officiating was atrocious. Even contemplating targeting on Young's safety/non-safety/grounding/whatever was stupid. The facemask no-call discussed above was egregious and must be called for player safety. I saw at least two uncalled pass interferences during the game where the Bama defender created contact and broke up the pass. One was on a potential TD. I also thought one of the off-sides calls on Will Anderson that gave Texas a first down early in the game was a joke. If it was lining up in the neutral zone, I felt like both teams did that all day long. I also thought everybody was holding. I just think the referees lost all control of the game very early on with some terrible calls. long story short: I thought Bama benefitted from some really terrible officiating.

  21. I watched that game with one of my best friends, who is an aggie. We haven't gotten to see each other much over the years after he left Texas to get into the business school at ATM, but that day was one of those days. It was an unbelievable experience. As it kept getting worse and worse, I started actually cheering to see if OU could get to 100 points. Fucking Bob Stoops. Just keep going, man. Make fucking terrible and amazing history. Bleh. I firmly believe OU could have won that game 112-0 without pushing themselves. I think that is the only OU victory I have ever enjoyed, and boy, did I enjoy it.

  25. I don't want to put too much on the aggie schedule outcomes over the next 4 weeks, but it is hard not to do so. If ATM shits the bed and goes 1-3 or 0-4 during that run, there is going to be a lot crawfishing coming from the people participating in buying players. They're trying to fuck with Texas on Muhammed. With MM, they're offering something absurd, but it's not clear that they can even get that done. Texas wants MM no matter what, in any event. If ATM is in Year 5 of Ritz Bit and they are sitting at 2-4 and trying to push for recruits, they're not going to have as much firepower behind them. To say that the money this cycle is being reluctant would be an understatement. Also, the word is that they're more interested in seeing Hale not go to Texas than they are in having him sign with them. I mean, in any other setting, I would say that sounds like pure bullshit. Of course, this is not any other setting. Wait, so you think Bama looking like shit at WR is a good thing in recruiting Hale? I don't see that. Sarkisian and Marion have everything they need in order to sell Texas to recruits, Hale included.

  26. I don't mind the initial hit at all. He was coming in fast and trying to make a play. What I DO mind--a lot--is how he finished the tackle once the ball was out of the QB's hands. That's when you need to pull up. Maybe the momentum still pushes Quinn to the ground, but there's no need to finishthe tackle, driving him into the ground with the defender on top. That's just dirty, malicious play.
