  1. 49 in Sept. It sucks - went from jogging and a swimmer to tremors and shakes. I'm scared to death of fixing a light bulb on a ladder. I just pray it isn't MS. Neither have a blood test, it takes time. When your legs constantly feel like you hit your funny bone in your elbow, concern. when you have tremors so bad you can't shave it's an issue. Not looking for sympathy, just a Longhorn. I was at that Nebraska game in SA with Mackovic on 4th down with a pass to the TE to seal it. I was at the Michigan Rose Bowl. On my dorm, it was a shithole on Guadalupe street right across from Dobie (sp?) the big blue one. I accepted late it was the only dorm available (off campus, it was too late to get on campus). I originally was going to texam with my high school friend and now my ex-brother in law. We could walk to a great Greek restaurant down some steps and get a gyros, the arcade - Street Fighter tournaments, Gumby's pizza, Double Dave's I think too . I covered my expenses with internships at AA, PW, and Enron. And further down Taco Bell. I just want to see some good football before I go. I will donate and have already left some to UT. I realize this is a fun, thrash people board. Thrash away, it's ok. It won't offend me. Life Alumni Member, 2 degrees from UT, season ticket holder for years I lived in Texas, hate aggie, respect OU but want to beat them, contributor to UT. And for BigBend1812:

  2. Hang in there. I've been tremor dominant Parkinson's for a decade and am still functional (just rode my bike seventeen miles). Push as best you can for a clear diagnosis, which clarifies the treatment options. Once you know what you're dealing with, you know the path and just have to keep grinding away. Best wishes.

  4. When it comes to how others live their lives, a normal person is like is what they are doing affecting me? Are they hurting anyone? If not, then live and let live. The problem with highly religious people is they can't just leave others alone. They have to push their religions tenants onto everyone. Religion in politics is what is driving our country to the brink. Politics is compromise. There is no compromise with true believers and now the Republican party has done the same to politics with the evangelical/fundamentalist infection.

  7. “A lot of these recruits have to know that Arch Manning is highly overrated. “ There is so much stupidity and lack of awareness in that logic that it is breathtaking. “We’ve convinced ourselves that the number one recruit in the country should barely be a 3 star. Surely everyone else sees this, too?” Also, they went from one guy touting the premise that Texas was paying double what anyone else would pay to it now being known fact. Texas alums are sure known for being really stupid with their money. In fact, there’s actually a school that has done that recently, and the jokes fucking write themselves. Also also, I am still fascinated by the fact that these goobers still don’t grasp that NIL isn’t a corrupt bag game. They’re clinging to it being a conspiracy that will wind up getting busted up by the joint forces of the NCAA, the FBI, and fucking Chuck Norris.

  9. you can't call someone a whore unless it's certain they get paid for it. otherwise, they're just merely a slut.

  13. I think that he was ALL Miami and the rest of the Top 5 eventually became fun trips and objects to troll. Then Miami got their OTs for this cycle. Higher ranked guys with higher floors. They told Kirkland “Sorry kid, we don’t have room.” And then Kirkland was like “Ok fuck! I have burned bridges that I shouldn’t have burned. WTF?!… [Pancake Factory $50K] 💡💡💡💡💡💡💡 Wait! There’s a bridge that haven’t burned yet!” So he reached out to see if the spot was still available if committed right now, before the E. St. Louis kid had a chance to visit next weekend. From what I have gathered, that’s likely what happened. And I am okay with that. Sounds like a great redshirt candidate, maybe gets a few series his first year so that he knows how much he’s going to have to work AND so that the coaches can see what to teach him. But maybe that doesn’t happen until his second year, after a year of weight training & scout team. 🤷‍♂️ Fall of ‘25, he could be a monster. If not, okay.

  14. I didn’t have a bed my entire freshman year at Texas. It worked out fine. I didn’t know anything about college. I applied at Texas and Dartmouth, and only Dartmouth because they were recruiting me. My essay for McCombs literally had scribbles on it. My parents worked a fuckton, were disorganized and struggled to make ends meet for us and didn’t know shit about college processes, and I just figured I was a shoe-in. So I ignored the dorm process, figuring it was too expensive. I was dating these two girls who were best friends and they always wanted to go to Austin. So we go up and signed a lease on Riverside a few months before school started. They ended up getting into a fight and I was a casualty in their demise. I might have been part of the problem, but we don’t have all day. Anyway, that happened 4 days before school started. Neither was going to Austin anymore. I needed a place, desperately. One of my buddy’s parents bought him a place in South Austin and he and two of our friends rented it from his parents. I was tight with these guys and they let me sleep on one of their floors for $200/month for the year. I went through 6 roommates that year and was the only one to pass both semesters and stay at Texas. It was a wild ass year and perhaps the greatest 9 months of my life. A lot friends were made and lost along the way. Anywho, that’s my contribution for defending @Wulaw Horn and probably offending @RomaVicta .

  17. It finally feels like for first time Texas is starting to release the power of the “Death Star”. I’m loving the teeth gnashing and tears from other fan bases and I can’t wait to have entire new fanbases in the SEC come to hate us.

  19. Nah, fuck that. If the kid was playing games, that’s his problem. It is in everybody’s interest to at least bring a little bit of credibility to the idea that it was a legit recruitment and a legit commitment. Suppose the news didn’t get out, and everybody was completely caught off guard. Would that not bring a wave of unwanted press above and beyond what transpired over the past few days? Somebody needed to be the adult and realize that committing, seemingly on a whim, to a team you haven’t visited and wasn’t even listed in your top five, might be funny to every 17 year old, but maybe would not be received as well by everybody else. I like the addition, but I have no problem with what Gerry did. Neg me if you want, but the world does not exist for kids’ amusement, especially in this new nil climate. There are plenty of ways to enjoy the process and drum up intrigue without harming everybody’s credibility in the process. tl;dr “get off my lawn!”

  20. Was as good as advertised. Loved the huevos rancheros. The Dino Rib should last for a couple more meals. Also loved the Big Red Tres Leches. It actually tasted like a Big Red cake. I’ll be damned. Only downside was I didn’t realize they don’t serve all the sides on Sunday until 1045. Only was able to get potato salad. Will have to go back and try more.

  25. "I could have made so much $ as POTUS but I didn't because I'm so rich I didn't end it. Now just keep buying tickets to my traveling grift shows." Dumbass never even considers the fact that making "deals" to enrich yourself as President is highly fucking illegal and likely treasonous, but he thinks his idiot base will interpret this as a sign of morals. I mean, they will so fuck each and every one of them.

  28. I was there, just saying I'm not fcb. Older fan that got to party on 6th street with the James Brown songs. I don't want a pissing match with anyone here. I've followed this for over 30 years on multiple sites. With Parkinson's today is a day I can type. And to Bigbend1812, yes I do either wear my contacts and reading glasses or my normal glasses and remove them to read. To your pictures but I'm a skinny white dude lol. I'm also sure I am a lot smarter than this fcb guy you reference. But to each his own, it is Surly and I've read it for years and sites that pre-dated it for years. Probably sites that predated your birth. Not a weight trainer, how long does it realistically get the beef we got in '22 ready? I see '23 as all redshirts unless injuries. They are super talented but will need time to shape.
