Got dam. Do people working in sports media no longer remember Barry Sanders? Or is she just an idiot?

Understanding sports is no longer required for what ESPN has been doing for the last 6 years.

Deion has had to deal with more than his share of medical issues for a man of his age and fitness. And yes he's brash, but he also seems like a genuinely good guy and I'm rooting for his full recovery and whatever success he can have on the field that doesn't impact the Longhorns negatively.

As a cancer survivor, I read this and feel very conflicted.  On one hand, fuck cancer. On the other hand, to quote a masturbating comic with a funny bit about peanut allergies, “…..maybe, just maybe…”

Not sure he makes a 53.

They would have to keep 4 QBs to do so. He's worse right now than Flacco, Pickett, and Gabriel. Would be hilarious if they did that.

He probably got drafted too high. Should have been down there in "who gives a shit this pick is worthless anyway" territory with Ewers

Same thing he did in college. If he doesn’t learn to get rid of the ball, he’s gonna have a bad time.

He had a freakish WR who was better than almost everyone he faced. He was insanely athletic at the college level. He can loft the ball really well.

He was never great at pre-snap reads. He's terrible at his progressions post snap. Just like he was in college.

Using your athletic abilities to avoid early pressure and looking for a long ball to a superior WR or just running doesn't translate to the NFL.

It's Cleveland... and their wasn’t unity between GM and coaching on the pick. The words after Cleveland are redundant. This from a Cowboy "fan" who would know.

Am I in the manziel thread?

He’s far from insanely athletic. In fact, he had negative net rushing yards in both his Colorado seasons. His 40 time was estimated to be in the 4.8 range.

Use whatever adverbs/adjectives you prefer. It was his athletic abilities that got him into the NFL and his lack of QB abilities that will prevent him from staying.

He was impressively terrible today. The stats are bad, but you have to see it to believe it.

Dillon Gabriel is the Browns' franchise QB.

Now pardon me while I go gargle bleach after praising a Sooner.

How the hell do you get sacked for 22 yards on one play. This is why scouts hated him.  Run the play.  You are not Lamar Jackson

No way. Gabriel won’t be there in 27

He wasn’t even that good in the game everyone raved about. He made some nice throws after the backups came in.

Even the commentators were yelling at him. "Why don't you throw the ball? Throw the ball!" That was just one of 3-4 plays in a row where he had guys open or was facing pressure and tried to dance around instead of throw the fuckin ball. And not just one, the whole trio of commentators were doing a group verbal facepalm with that sequence. When he was pulled for the 2 minute drill, they showed him throwing a fit on the sidelines, and the commentators were like, "Yeah, well, do better."

Imo guys that hold onto the ball too long tend to be selfish.  Protecting their stats

I refuse to acknowledge he was a sooner. They ran him off. Well, Venables ran him off. Let's make sure and acknowledge that reality. Yes, he had horrible decision making in his youth, but he sooners can not claim him.

In his defense, not that I'm very inclined to, Shadeur has been coached to do just that his entire life. It's a good way to get your jersey number retired....

At Colorado...

Almost can't wait to hear the ESPN heads on Unsportsmanlike come Monday. After Sanders' first game they were all anointing him as starter, ridiculing all of the teams that passed on him, etc.

Eh, they may have turned the corner on the old build em up, tear them down they love so much on pretty much every ESPN show. (And is SOP for about 99% of sports media)

Have you ever thought about a career in politics because you seem to be a natural. That or an ESPN studio host.
