At some point just calling them "weird" would grow old, yes, but it's pointing in the right direction in terms of what should be the rhetorical strategy. Despite being the party for incel nazi creeps, much of the public still views the Republican party as the adult, responsible business party and the Democratic party as the party of strange and unpopular nerds.  It's a real problem for us and a real advantage for the GOP. That's why they freaked the fuck out when the "weird" attack picked up steam.

The Dems need to be telling the public that the Republican party is the party of nazi pedophiles and other creeps you wouldn't let within five hundred feet of your children. They need to be repeating it pretty much constantly.

Woke issues are largely irrelevant to the vast majority of Americans. It's also a small part of policy from Dems. The Republican media machine is especially good at making things a much much much bigger deal than they are in reality even if they are negative. The Democrats largely make arguments based on merit and get distracted by  trying to address things that are largely irrelevant to governing etc.

But it really energizes the cult, there was a post about a so called moderate liberal on Texags

https://texags.com/forums/16/topics/3542163

It was post after post after post after post asking about the trans issue, these people are so sick and mentally twisted that they obsessed about the absolute dumbest thing possible. A MAGA acquaintance kept bringing it up as well and I told the idiot I did not give a shit either way, he still pestered. Maybe they feel guilt about supporting a neo nazi, but their reasoning is irrelevant, the 2024 event was not decided by these morons it was decided by working class losing ground economically (income - spenditure).

They remain a threat because their cultish existance keeps the election as something non deterministic, a coin flip on how angry people are, that 40% is the greatest threat to mankind.

Not sure if this is what you're referring to, but at least Schumer is raising a bit of a stink about the Qatari plane.

https://apnews.com/article/trump-plane-qatar-schumer-nominees-senate-8efd139a898c32cb7a1fa554c3e937c7

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer said Tuesday that he will hold up all Justice Department nominations on the Senate floor until he gets more answers about the free Air Force One replacement that President Donald Trump says would be donated by Qatar.

Trump said this week that he wants to accept the $400 million plane, and that it would later be donated to a presidential library. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News on Monday that the details of the donation are still being worked out.

The plan, Schumer said, “is not just naked corruption, it is also a grave national security threat.”

Ewing winning was a surprise.  Ewing winning by 13 points was a shock.

But, it's not really a repudiation of MAGA and it is definitely not a sign that the Democratic Party is getting their shit together.

Stothert wasn't MAGA.  She was vocal about not voting for Trump in 2016.  As far as I know, she never bent the knee.  Her loss may be an indication that it is getting harder for non-MAGA Republicans to survive.  (She did have other issues, like spending enough time in St. Louis, where her boyfriend lived, that there was accusations that she didn't really live in Omaha.)

As far as the Dems go, the State Party showed their incompetence by coordinating with another Republican candidate during the primaries on some anti-Stothert attack ads.  The backstory is that McDonnell was Dem State Senator, who voted for the abortion bill, got enough blowback that he switched to Republican, but was the deciding vote against switching to winner-take-all for the 2024 Presidential election. The mayoral race is a non-partisan, top two advance, primary.  So, there was a decent chance that two Republicans - McDonnell and Stothert - would have been the only general election candidates, and the Nebraska State Democratic Party was coordinating with one of them.  That is soooo fucked up.

But the good guy won.  And John Ewing is the good guy. I've liked him since he was the county treasurer and he overhauled the car registration process to make it easier.  Just simple, non-partisan, efforts to make your life better.  Granted, I may be giving him credit for something technology enabled, but I still like him.  And it may demonstrate a changing of the guard in Omaha.  It's not that unusual for Omaha to have a Democratic mayor, but they are all that old Irish-mob-political-machine type.  I think a lot of that base has eroded with reshifting with MAGA.  Being the first black mayor should not be underestimated.

If the goal is to get people off the sidelines, it occurs to me the next Dem candidate should propose a tax credit for every american that votes in the presidential election. let the think tanks argue the amount, but I'm thinking somewhere between $500-$1000 ought to do it.

That's a great ad. I'm glad he won. I don't see any relation between this and the dynamics of national politics.

The hate engine uses a very general "other" as fuel. The liberals and liberalism to start with. Limbaugh got to be the one to define what that meant to people and that definition led to people seeing another political opinion as willfully malicious. Those libs. Those feminazis. Those environmental wackos.

In the 90s, I heard Rush start with a story about a lumberjack badly injured when his chainsaw hit a metal spike driven into a tree by eco-terrorists. Here's how the chain went over the next few minutes eco terrorist > environmental wackos > ebil liberals > Democratic office holders. Pretty slick sophistry.

To the voters of Omaha, I venture to speculate based on no knowledge BTW, know this fellow who won. He is specific. He is not some general other. You can get that across in a local election and actually shine a light on the familiar idiot you're running against.  I don't think it plays in the new paradigm. If this man goes national, he will drop into the vile vat of Socialists as described decried by the rabble rousers for the right.

The Dems are a political party not a counter-revolutionary movement willing to use any means to win. Snappy mean ads won't work with people who sat out the last election with little qualm about for whom they were paving the way.

The acquiescent are as responsible as the MAGAs. What could be more motivating to make someone vote than to keep a lying, raping, felon out of the White House?

What the fuck are you talking about? The "Wokies?" There is no such thing as a Wokie movement speaking with one voice or holding one opinion. That's a figment created in the same way that Rush created his version of ebil libs by changing the meaning of liberal.

Woke originally referred to well-meaning white men like me becoming aware of the real world for everybody else. Waddaya know, the cops really are murdering Black men. Waddaya know, sexual harrassment is pervasive. Waddaya know, there is institutional racism that I didn't see.

BLM and Me Too triggered this desire to be woke (I so desire it myself) and recognize that there are many things that remain invisible to people like me. Woke is great shorthand for that. Tolerance and respect are the clear tenets of being woke. You surely don't find those repellent?

The repellent part is having the feculant traitors to the republic using the term to say those who wish to be woke are all for the homo teachers grooming kids for later fucking or for transexualism paving the way for invasions of rapers to our holy bathrooms. (I was almost amused that nobody raised the issue of monitoring admission to women's bathrooms. ICE-like swat teams training their guns on any mildly masculine looking woman daring to want to pee? Get on the ground! Get on the ground! Nobody is doing that now to stop the actual rapers.)

They're the anti-tolerance and respect party. The woke are not a party. They're (we're) just trying to open our eyes to troubling situations for fellow citizens. Common good and all that Wokie shit.

The Democrats are taking actions that are (also) so ridiculous that they will cement Trump and his followers in control of our government for the foreseeable future.

And the GOP is pushing more anti-trans legislation everywhere.  Which Ds will have to oppose because they're human beings, and that's going to feed that narrative again.

What do yall think of that David Hogg guy? I like that he wants to get ineffective people out of their positions and go after democrats that aren't doing enough for the party. DNC doesn't seem happy about him and seems like they're trying to protect the establishment. Need to bring in the youth as it seems like most of the young men are gravitating to republican's party.

IMO short term democrats need to cool it with ultra progressive pushing of trans in sports and other aspects. Yes support them but stop being ultra progressive in pushing the legislation for trans in sports. It will literally take away one of GOP's most affective campaign tactics. Once you regain control of all 3 then put in whatever the fuck you want and actually protect people with legislation and not give a fuck what republicans say or even ask for their opinions. Actually protect the people LGBTQ, elderly, children, and women instead of just campaigning on protecting them.

Right, miserable shit.  But they're forcing decent humans to take a position on trans issues, again.

And they're gonna cram it up our ass, again.

I'm beginning to think many of them actually dgaf about being anti-trans, but are just keeping the issue alive for electoral purposes.

Maybe it doesn't work so well outside of the "boys in girls sports" meme.

Now that Trump/Republicans are actually back in power and implementing their plan, "weird" isn't good enough. What they are doing is cruel. Work off of that.

Maybe the problem is using pussy-ass weak language.  Weird.  Cruel.  Fuck that.

I just want one person to take to a podium, and say "These people are fucking dicks.  My rule is simple -- don't be a fucking dick.  I'm running to be your president.  To lead the country.  Not to be a fucking dick.  Imagine what a fucking dick would do -- I'll do the opposite of that.  A fucking dick would turn this country over to billionaires, screwing over you, the American people.  I won't do that.  A fucking dick will violate the law, claiming that he's just going to do it to hurt some bad people, but then he hurts you.  I won't do that.  Our grandparents saved the world from fucking dicks.  We landed on beaches and shot fucking dicks.  We dropped atomic bombs on fucking dicks.  Be an American, fighting for what's right for the American people.  Don't be a fucking dick."

Repeat.  Non-stop.  Make CNN bleep you out 40 times per interview.   GO ON THE ATTACK.  RELENTLESSLY, AGGRESSIVELY, AND NON-FUCKING-STOP.

The tone of the message can be adjusted per candidate, but I really feel like a "seriously, what have they done for you?" campaign could gain traction, especially in areas that have been red for a while.

"Have you gotten a raise?  Are the roads around you fixed?  Is your kid getting a better education?  The only thing they've been really successful at is getting you to hate your neighbor while ignoring the stuff that really matters."

The Republicans will always win the messaging battle when it comes to culture war shit.  The Democrats shouldn't try to fight them on it, nor should they ignore it.  What they need to do is redirect the conversation to highlight that all the Republicans do is focus on the Facebook issues instead of the real ones.

Might be blasphemous to claim this on the internet but MOST people don't want to go around hating everyone.  Giving everyone a common enemy: "these guys are the reason you are mad all the time because they keep focusing on what divides us instead of the shit that actually matters" might have surprising staying power.  It isn't a naive message of kumbaya either, it's a "yeah we might have different views on some stuff, but let's focus on keeping you employed instead of the genitals of high school athletes in Tennessee."

I just really think there's a lot of people tired of feeling like they are constantly in a culture war.

I did a search in that article for the word "woke."

image.png.62f71eff9874b0db624ed016c7756c6c.png

You're applying the notion that allows you to hate to your vision of whatever you think reality is.

I have profound objections to grad student thesis/dissertation tyranny over the language.  I'm sure one of them came up with the notion of "able-ism." They represent a third party of naive, ivory tower dullards believing they are making a better society by protecting people they never talk to.

Retard, a word I love for comedy, is clearly derogatory and hurtful. I'm not sure that "mentally retarded" is offensive or was offensive until the language overlords stepped in. They give us Individual with Developmental Deficiencies which is awkward grad speak. Did anybody bother to talk to that community?

That evidently happened with Latinx which came and went under my radar.

So yeah, I see a problem with do gooder grad students presuming to explain the world to me. It's not some horrible Wokie crime of the type that seems to get your bowels in an uproar.

No intellectually balanced person could conclude from your link anything about being woke. You tried to pull Rush Limbaugh by somehow thinking you justified this bit of hysteria:

"Your personal beliefs are the reason you are mad at your neighbor and you will need to change those in order for things to get better" is a losing fucking message that makes people defensive.

You do know that Gen Z voted disproportionately towards Trump? Gen Z men are flocking to fascism because woke culture, I see it every single day, it is the entry drug to griter youtubers and neo nazi private discords, the wokies were told time and time again that LatinX was a woke slur and they kept objecting, repeating it over and over and over because they are essentially a fifth column.

Then you have stuff like the Depp trial, 90% of the country supported Depp, and what did they do? support Heard, not a both sides are abusive, no it was the same thing "believe all women!" ignore the evidence, ignore the veredict, ignore reality, it was 100% believe women nonsense. I would stand by their side if they were on the side of truth, but they are a cult without a clear leader, ideology over truth and reason.

So no you are wrong with the definition of woke, it was really bad.

And I have not even gotten around to the "I am emotional unstable" insults they levied. They needed to scream at the wall, not on social media where millions could see.

By accusing a generation of virulent fascism, you show a pitiful imbalance. It's obvious to everyone but you and your fellow travellers, but I'll say it anyway, irony-deafness is a pretty good tell that you're talking to an Aggie, a Rush Limbaugh worshipper, or a Trumper.

You sorta lied by saying your link had something to do with defining a wokie party full of evil doers.

I won't neg you because it's all so pathetic.

Thanks for wrecking my republic. Don't fall out of any windows!

No offense but your view points on this show exactly why the left is fucking in a world of shit when it comes to young voters

I had no idea of my influence or even my place among whatever you think the left is.

I've dispensed with great concerns about the next election. It's not really much of a part of the new paradigm.

The new paradigm is those destroying the republic versus those who'd like to keep it. I'm on the second side. I know some conservative thinkers here who were once GOPs that feel the same way. Hell, I'm sure plenty of reds, greens, anti-abortion folks are in the group as well.

Left and right are way out of the picture. Wake up!

Oh noes! Then you might get called woke!

Idiot World is winning big.

Well here is a clue, if you don't win elections you don't make the laws needed to protect. Democrats have had majority numerous times and failed to put protections up. So yes, it is all about winning and needs to be all about winning all house, senate, and presidency at all cost right now to even have a shot at protecting what you say. Especially considering you don't have a majority on the supreme court. The democratic party as a whole has become stale and the new negative being pushed by the right towards democratic party is that they aren't a party of the people they are a party of wall street/big business.

I'll go dig a bunker in my backyard today!

Did you see the video I posted? it went viral over 10 years ago and it was the seeds planted in little kids minds that these people are enraging, that fruit just turned 18 and voted for Trump for the first time.

Schumer is a weak coward.

Trump wants everybody focused on the plane instead of his bitcoin and meme grift, that would get a POTUS thrown out of office during any other time in our history.

You are wrong, I saw this woke movement first hand and it was toxic, it was radioactive, people compare it to the PC movement in the 90s but they have no idea, the PC movement in the 90s is what you described above, it cost no one an election, because it was milketoast.

Gen Z is virulently more fascist because of this movement, because of the unbelievable shit it tried to pull, the random histerical insults it levelled, and lastly its inability to see things logically, it has only died down because they have been killing us in attracting voters.

A classical example was the woke slur LatinX.

Bingo....

Democratic party is hemorrhaging young voters to the right at an alarming rate and the DNC leadership is too engrained into the "whoke" shit to see it. Need to completely restructure the party.

From NPR:

The gender gap was more pronounced among young voters

Trump made significant gains among young men, according to the AP’s exit polling, winning 56% of the vote, compared to 2020, when he won just 41%.

To Della Volpe, it’s part of a trend he has been watching for years, where a significant number of young men, especially those who have grown up with Trump, feel disconnected from the modern Democratic Party.

“They're telling us in our surveys and our focus groups that the Democratic Party doesn't speak to them. They’re choosing not to be affiliated with it. This is something that you can't turn around in 30 days or 100 days,” he said. “To do this takes years of investment. Donald Trump made that investment. And I think much of that playing field was ceded by Democrats.”

Young women, on the other hand, did break for Harris. She won the group by 18 points – though still by a margin that was lower than four years ago.

Its head in the sand dude, we needed Gen Z men and we are losing them hard and fast. I don't think the trans issue affected them, it is naked propaganda, this will never win based on just what happened in the elections from 2024 onwards, but this is because the trans community is reeling and keeping quiet, THAT is the winning strategy, honey vs vinegar.

Woke politics however over the past 10 years have been bitter bitter vinegar from gender and sexual minorities. This made the news recently on another gamer drama, this is supposed to be a reporter at Vice

Why make stupid posts like this? yes I get it it was supposed to be funny. No, it was not funny and it was a poison pill, one of millions.

MLK Jr had it right he was angry he was more woke than he let on, but he knew what was the path to victory, honey vs vinegar.

That said this is not a part of my theory.

Why are you attributing random posts and videos of people with no fucking connection to the Democratic party to Democrats?  What the fuck does the Depp/Heard trial have to do with the Democratic party?
