LT gets interesting if Kersetter comes back. I assume Jones and Karic will battle it out while Kersetter stays at RT. He’s in a tough spot. Projects as a NFL center, much better football at OT.

Majors was well, a major surprise me. Credit to the kid to taking offseason workouts very seriously. His strength improved immensely in under a year.

Texas should be fine at Guard with Angilau and Okafor. Imade ain’t much of a football player, but you don’t turn away 6th year senior OL.

How does Kerstetter project to center when the tape he has playing the position this past season was abysmal? Now he might be able to play guard, but there is no way after the abortion we saw every Saturday that he is going to be playing center in the NFL.

You got me. The word was he wanted to play center in 2020 to improve his draft stock.

I think it’s pretty clear Kerstetter’s better off at Tackle. Also, you’d leaving out Johnson and Holton. I think there’s a good chance one or both will be starters next year.  Then you have question marks like Garth and Moore (though Moore likely just sucks). We’re actually not in too bad of a spot at OL next year, though I’d still like to see us take a transfer there. If we get the level of coaching we expect from Flood, we’ll probably be better next year.

I want to see the Hookfin hype train happen in an actual football game. It'll be nice just to see Garth play football again.

I could see see from left to right : Karic, Okafor, Majors, Angilau, Kersetter. The youngsters really only played in a couple games, thanks again Herb, so it's tough to project.

Christian Jones as the swing tackle. Hookfin probably replaces Okafor at some point. Not great OL recruiting, but at least the numbers are there. 16 OL ain't bad.

Sark made a point in his news conference that he thought keeping players from leaving the state was key. Alabama fans seem to think losing Jeff Banks is going to hit their recruiting in Texas pretty hard. Let's hope so. As of now we are looking to get only 1 of the top 24 rated players in Texas this year. This is a big reason Tom is gone. We couldn't even out-recruit Kansas in our own state.

Texas A&M 7

Alabama 5

Oklahoma 4

LSU 2

Ohio State 1

Mississippi 1

California 1

SMU 1

Kansas 1

Texas 1

To get an idea of the recruiting potential that exists, in 2019 Texas brought in only 4 of the top 28 players in the state and we still managed to finish with the 3rd overall recruiting class nationwide.

Jacoby Jones coming back. Can't be a bad thing, but lol with the framing that he is "forgoing the 2021 draft".

Is there some legal requirement to use "With that being said" in every one of these?

Nick Harris on 247 says Bimage and Harrison are back with the team.

Said they don't know yet with Young.

Good to hear that about Harrison. Would have been a real shame for Jamaal's cousin to not even practice with the team before bouncing. Also he's slippery as shit, Sark should be able to maximize him.

Not sure Daniel Young returns after appearing in this video discussing Herman Firing...

First time I've seen that, but thats a fine collection of non/barely contributers and fuckups. Burt and McCulloch were the only ones with signifcant playtime, and neither lived up to their billing. If that had been Sam, Ossai, Rojo, Jamison and a few others I might take what was said more to heart.

They did confirm the team does know and is affected when a coach is on the hotseat..which makes coaches saying stuff like "we're focused, team is focused, we shut out the outside noise" the bullshit we all knew it was.

I saw on our Texassports that Derrian Brown was still on the team.  Does anyone on Surly have an update on his status?  Is he a medical retire or does he get a med rs, rs, and free year with the hopes he comes back someday?

It's been noted a few places, but Reese Leitao won't be returning to the team for next season.

Yeah but he has a higher calling and we can't hate.  Hope he reps us well in med school and into the future.

Is the expectation that in Kwiatkowski's defensive scheme Derrick Harris will start out as an OLB/edge rusher and Cooks at one of the two ILB spots? Glad they are both on campus to get a jump on putting some good weight on.

What about Jaylon Ford? He wasn't bad from what I remember. He had his frosh misses, but otherwise it was a good eval by the last staff.

So Leitao is reported to be leaving for Med School.  Derrian Brown seems like a possible medical retirement.  Mpagi's heart condition has not been discussed by the $9.95ers in quite awhile.  Ja'Tavion is supposedly gonna start  out at Tight End.

The QB room with only 3 players looks a little light.  No doubt the WR room will see folks leaving before summer.
