Had Simmons gone to the pp Looch would have been parroting the same, the pp is near mythological in cult circles.

That used to be the place where bags were "accidentally" dropped near cars and handshakes with a lil sumpin sumpin used to happen. These days recruits see that as just payment for being on the attendance list.

Yup, but it also conveniently gives cover to grifters that sell 9.99 subscriptions on how to spin a loss

What lack of guardrails helped in the Colin Simons recruitment?

Are you suggesting that swamp aggy's final counter was entirely above board?

In a world without bagmen, we win more recruitments. That's not to say that I have any idea how to craft federal NIL legislation, but the idea that bagmen existing is good for Texas is wild.

He says there needs to be federal guidelines for NIL and when looking at some of the proposals for that it would pretty much open the door back open to bag men taking a front seat again. In the current state we're able to go in and win these types of recruitments because of the landscape. I am saying that the current state is far superior to anything the senate or house has provided in terms of guidelines.

You don't need to prove much, just catch them in a lie and they go to prison.

In a world that heavily regulates CFB Bag men would not exist, SEC dominance has come as a result of the defanging of the NCAA by the courts and university presidents. Instead we have the www that can blow up at any moment.

There is no regulation on bag men nor will there ever be but you want regulation on NIL which is the biggest counter to bag men....interesting.

The good ones will be smarter than Martha Stewart and simply refuse to answer questions.

If bag men can go to prison for lying then we return to the equilibrium at the turn of the century when CFB was at its best. Right now we have an unstable mess that could all unravel at any moment and undo all that was accomplished.

First thing would be for the conferences, schools, coaches and athletics administrators to give back the big bucks they collect every year in exchange for tv rights. Take away their fancy office space. Make them give away the broadcasts and the rights to them for free. They can stream it for free on youtube. Turn those fancy stadiums into childrens parks and rec facilities except for Saturdays. When you're done there feel free to demand the players stop getting paid.

Or maybe we can just agree you're blaming college football's problems on the wrong factor.

Things used to be so simple... Hookers and blow... Ahhh. The good old days...

I don't think NIL eliminated hookers and blow - I'm pretty sure they just changed the name to Hoes and Snowz but I'm an old, obviously.

You're missing the value of NIL to Texas entirely. The bag man peddles raised funds from private donors. If that was also true of NIL, you'd have a case, but it's not. The value for Texas is a) legitimizing paying players and b) the incredible amount of opportunity to raise public money compared with the other 95% of schools. There will always be more money in NIL, regardless of school, than a bag man could offer.

If federal legislation ensures a fair playing field, the bag man is moot. Again, the bag man can not offer the same amount of money that NIL can. They can only pander to immediacy of the bag. While it's unlikely that the federal government will be able to create and pass meaningful NIL legislation, it would be a net benefit to regulate when athletes can first be paid, what ability states have to advocate for prospects to stay in state, etc.

There is significantly more value to Texas in setting a floor for how the big money works than trying to punish the small money.

LA drafts a law that says LSU can pay players in HS at any age, not all of them of course they will be selective and give money to the ones showing more prospect. By the time of early signing period they are so much in debt to boosters that picking corndog is inevitable.

We lose every recent NIL recruit save Arch.

TX drafts a law that says UT can pay players in HS at any age, aggie kills it at committee.

The wild wild west is a an illusion of progress, first you get the economic uptick and migrations, and then comes the bad parts.

Correct, only a salary cap and no regulatory teeth can bring back under the table payments.

Current state is far superior than anything the federal fucking government can put forth. Anything that limits athletes ability to earn which some of the proposals have or gives NCAA complete autonomy is a failure. But hey if you trust Tommy Tuberville to do what's best for all of college football that's on you.

Like I said, the current state is fine....any hindrance on the current state will only open the door for bagmen again. While I agree they can't give as much as NIL can. One proposal suggest that the incoming freshmen could not receive NIL until after something like 6 months to 1 year. That kind of shit opens the door for bagmen to come in and give that immediate cash. That is my point.

You're so out of your depth

Louisiana athletes can already earn NIL in high school.

LHSAA bylaws do not prohibit student athletes from engaging in certain commercial activities in their individual capacities. These activities, generally referred to as Name, Image and likeness (NIL), will not jeopardize a student athlete's amateur status if the student athlete complies with LlISAA Bylaw 1.25 on "Maintaining Amateur Status" as well as all LHSAA Bylaws, policies, and regulations. Compliance with lliSAA Bylaws regarding NIL does not ensure maintenance of eligibility under the eligibility standards of other governing athletic organizations (e.g. NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, national sport governing bodies, etc.). Student athletes desiring information on the amateur rules of other governing organizations should consult with those organizations.

Lol this is not remotely the same, this does nothing to shield the school from NCAA sanction. The MO and TX laws clearly do.

Nice goal post move. 30 states allow for high school players to use NIL to make money.

It is not moving the goal post, the most important part in the whole law is the NCAA being told to go to hell, that is the absolute most key part.

Can I get all of you somewhat normal people to stop interacting with and even remotely entertarting the drooling idiocy of Tiny Randolph Duke's posts? Thanks.

His proposal is dumb. For starters, you can't rack up debt on a HS kid and then call in a chit, that's called indentured servitude, and it's illegal. You either pay them, or you don't pay them. And the second you restrict a kid's ability to take money, and then go out of state, you're basically preventing their freedom of chioce and movement. Then it's the state institution profiting on a kid as opposed to the NCAA, while not letting them earn money as they like.

Basically, all of his stupid ideas are predication on concepts that are against our basic constitution or bill of rights, and have already been struck down  courts already. Everyone should have known his takes were rhinocersous shit the second he suggested that people should go to prison for Lying. Stahp. His takes here are Texags level dumb.

Is Congress going to pass good NIL legislation? No, we can't even get rid of daylight savings.

Is the wild west good for Texas? Also, no. If schools are afforded advantages by their state legislatures, that's bad for Texas.

Is the ability to pay players legally better than holding our nose and doing it illegally on rare occasions? Hell yeah.

Our legislature are affording us advantages as well. Missouri probably has the most radical law currently but other than them it's pretty much yes we allow HS athletes to earn or no we don't. Yes we provide protections to our schools or we don't.

Old man? I'm barely a man, in Gundy years.

Listen, twatwaffle, you explaining NIL to me of all fucking people is is like somoene else explaning to you what it's like to have a 2 digit IQ; it's a waste of time to try to argue with a subject matter expert. Although if you're the same linux from the old site, damn sure that would be on fucking point. Either way, you're doing a hell of an impersonation of him on this board right now.

My next move is going to be to neg bomb your ass. This board can have you tossed in probably about 45 minutes without breaking a sweat.

It is the wild wild west right now, the SCOTUS created this with the Kav opinion, him stating that he was going bury the NCAA no matter what.

What was needed was federal guardrails. federal subpoenas, actual teeth in the investigations for bag men.

Wait until other states allow for the payment of HS players as long as they stay in state and a jealous aggie politicians object to changing the law to compete.

LA is one dumbfuck law away from undoing all our current inroads.

CR douche bag in the recruiting thread is full offseason fuckery.
