It took you all day to come up with yet another inapposite stat.   We're still waiting for you to answer the questions posed hours ago.  How many children arriving at the border with their parents were separated under Obama?   And how can you maintain that this is the same policy Obama had while also arguing that Obama let families loose on the street instead of locking up the parents and separating the children?

We do know that when they were simply release to the public 80% failed to appear at their "asylum" court hearing.  I guess they were full of shit on their reasons for coming and asking them to follow our laws after breaking one in the first place seems incredibly stupid.

no solutions, just personal attacks....What are the real options....

1. Detain the children with their families -  - - Dems sue saying unlawful to detain children more than 30 days, even with parent (resulting in an explosion of children illegally crossing the border)

Option 2 - release them to family members, often illegal themselves, and have 80% never show up for a court date.  This is unacceptable. (resulting in open borders and more illegal crossings with children)

Option 3 house them separately from family and actually know where they are.  Only option left unless we are sending them home with family immediately or let them claim asylum in Mexico or Canada.

The Democrats have forced this situation and maybe simply enforcing the law and not championing catch and release open border policies is actually the most humane for the illegal immigrant the Americans citizens forced to lower their already low standard of living for elite liberal guilt.

If this forces them to make a change then so be it.  They have shown zero desire except to encourage and exacerbate the situation.

If you care so much for these children you will sit down and vote for immigration reform, if not you will continue personal attacks until you get your open border way.

The media will stop at nothing to get their open borders, and they want nothing more than for this to continue.  It is win win for them, status quo for open borders or blow back from the child care

Well somebody needs to do SOMETHING!!!!    ARglrobraGhoAbfaraBle!!!!  Think of the children!!!

If they are within our borders, they have constitutional rights even if they aren't seeking political asylum. If they show up at our border seeking political asylum, they have legal rights granted to them by law. Our constitution and our laws make them our problem.

Except for matters of Immigration, which don't extend as Rights, and they are bound by US Immigration Law. And only if they are arrested first.

It's almost as if someone brought this up hours ago....

Be Honest seems like starting point.

Well if the catch and release participants actually bothered to honor their word and show up for their court hearing we wouldn't have this problem, now would we?

You throw your child in a river you hold the responsibility, even though you are counting on the life guard or someone else to save them.

IF they are within our borders. I'm not arguing against that. The goal is to only let people in legally. If they only need asylum, why are they not claiming it in Mexico? Can you see why people are skeptical when they say they are seeking asylum and pass through Mexico which was a party of the Refugee convention?

The “whataboutism” withers with any scrutiny, and no, the policies enacted since this April are not the same as those under Obama. But he knows that. He’s being intellectually dishonest to distract from the thousands of innocent children, some as young as 8 months old, taken from their parents since this April.

I fundamentally don’t understand the argument that “this horrible thing that is totally preventable actually was also committed by someone else”. How about this: let’s agree that it’s a horrible thing and it needs to stop. If it appeases your racist nature to blame Obama, then fine.

Absolutely.  That's the funny thing — he's referencing (different) Obama policy for which Obama was long criticized by the left and labeled the "Deporter in Chief", and citing reports that were used at the time to criticize Obama.   Like the picture posted earlier of a street protests against Obama, the evidence that nobody cared when Obama did the "same thing" is... people caring about what Obama was doing.

Sure. But I don't care. Once they are asking us, it's irrelevant as far as I'm concerned.

And from a cultural assimilation perspective, Mexico makes more sense....if this really was about asylum.

U.S. CUSTOMS AND Border Protection agents are systematically violating U.S. and international law by blocking immigrants at international ports of entry on the southern border from entering the country so they can claim asylum.

By blocking asylum-seekers from crossing legally, CBP is pressuring them to cross illegally. Garcia believes that this new practice gives the government an excuse to split up even more families.

Who is pressing them to cross illegally into the US when they are in the safe haven of Mexico, away from their country of origin?

Cuz that's how far you gotta go to deflect the present.

I'm not sure you know what that word means.  Pictures of kids in Cages from 2013 attributed to Trump - that is defelction

Kids living in a much better situation than what they escaped from and they are actually accounted for = concentration camp

Not giving one shit about why we have this problem in the first place...that is deflection

But let's keep on with the "think of the children"

They should reunite every single family they have the ability to and send them home.  Separating families is cruel, rewarding them for breaking the law by releasing them in the the States is cruel to Americans footing the bill and fighting for the same resources (they just aren't your preferred pet project).

We keep posting over and over again about these people trying to seek asylum and being denied for various BS reasons. Beto pointed out that the areas near these checkpoints have a huge cartel presence and, unsurprisingly, people are choose illegal entry because they don't feel safe to spend god knows how many weeks trying to legally enter.

Welcome to politics.

They are so concerned with Julia’s background and her story of being beaten by El Salvador gang members.

Russians hacking into state voting systems? Don’t care, let’s get back to Julia and see if her story checks out.

It's called having a running narrative. When one narrative is asserted and can't be backed up, it's not a complete annihilation of the point trying to be made, but it has to be acknowledged as bullshit when evidence requested to back up bullshit claim goes unanswered, or in this Trumpshere, decried as irrelevant by the party that brought it up.

And there's some (sourceless?) pic of kids in cages attributed to Trump that would have fuck all to do with this even if we did know the source.

You mean the guy who represents a border town might have better insight than the racist conservatives who live in The Woodlands, Cypress, Plano, Frisco, and other lily white Texas suburbs??

Days like today make it obvious that it is a few people controlling all of them.  They've each taken turns for an hour or so dominating this thread with very little overlap.

How anyone can doubt this, I have no fucking clue.

Is it still Equinox’s shift?

False narrative. As younger people get older, and wiser, they start voting with a more conservative mindset.

It’s not just about age   Whites lost their majority status in Texas and turned it into a minority-majority state quicker than expected.

And somehow a Muslim Kenyan Marxist Socialist was able to beat a war hero and then a wealthy businessman.

Trump is the last gasp for a lot of these people.

Yeah, no.  You guys are trying to claim that the folks fleeing violence and poverty in in South and Central America should stop in Mexico where almost the same conditions are present.

So your position is Mexico is a shithole.

Just own it Trumpkin.
