Finally found a photo of Jeep, the only cat we have ever had - “inherited” him from our son who had given him to his future wife.
She couldn’t keep him and returned him to our son who was living in an apartment with 3 of his college buddies.
Naturally, Jeep wound up with us when son & girlfriend married in 1991.
I had never been a cat person, but of course Jeep, a Maine Coon breed,  “adopted” me as his best friend and crawled all over me at  odd hours of the day & night.
He lived to age 17, almost 15 of those years with us.
He was the biggest cat I ever saw - “only” 18 lbs, but could easily stand on his hind legs and reach up to grab something off the dining table if we weren’t watching.
Jeep was a good cat, and I miss him.

Flounder.  Born NYE 2024.  We got her at 9 weeks and now 4 months old.  Training her to be my boat house cat to keep the birds from nesting and making a mess.  Slowly getting her used to the outdoors but she is going to be a natural of course.  Already wants to go out all the time.
