Furman, mercer, central Arkansas, the citadel, and Austin peay. The teams you listed have kids who can play in the nfl randomly. Easy wins sure but have been known to fuck up a season a time or two. The ones ole Miss and the rest of the sec beat up on are high school kids with a chip on their shoulder. You can run the game plan for whoever you’re playing the following week, and essentially have two weeks to prepare. It’s trash but Texas should start doing it too. Get in the mud and what not.

I cannot provide all  the requisite proof I would need. hence rumors but these are credible RUMORS. Because of who told them to me.

My friend who knows her well knows about the infidelity. My friend has  unimpeachable bonafides. And this is why many in the circle of friends close to the Sark’s a circle that none of us are in doubted the timing of L’Oreal’s pregnancy. I ain’t going out on that limb. I think the affairs are real and L’Oreal wanted a child for a long time. She posted as much on her instagram. IMO child is most likely Sark’s. I don’t have a paternity test (duh) but people who know them both doubted the timing of it because of things they KNEW were going on.
But it’s bad enough that the names of at least 3 players one current and two former are connected to he and his wife in whatever revenge fucking or whatever the fuck this shit is or isn’t. The gossip is bad. Not worth typing out. And that sucks. Just the mere hint of it and the fact multiple people talked about it online last year was bad enough. I ignored most of it until it seemed to bleed into our current offseason and season.

I trust my friend. Y’all don’t have to trust me or my friend. The gossip though is what’s bad. That’s fucked. It’s worse when you hear this shit from multiple fucking people you know. Let me make this easy for everyone.

I don't want Sark nor Lane to be the HC at Texas next year.

We have zero say in any of this which sucks. When  I think of the three options:

door one: keep sark + micromanaging him + major changes to staff and practice et al

door two: kiffin

door three: someone else entirely

door one is most likely and I am just reading the tea leaves.

Watch and see how it plays out. How we perform in the next two games has to be a factor I am guessing here. And he stays.  Unless the messes are too big to fix. Then it’s door 2 or 3. And imo 3 seems more likely than 2.

I just hope we all have a great Thanksgiving and UT doesn’t look like a fucking turkey.

Sankey wants the SEC teams to scale up their OOC scheduling and limit FCS teams to one per year.

I saw that in an article a while back, but you'll see fewer November scrubs - like Samford - on SEC teams skeds, moving forward.

We're gonna look foolish, anyway, if UT cuts ties with Sark only 9 months after extending his contract.

I will never defend Ole Miss' horrible OOC schedule and it is something to consider in the comparisons.

That said we played UTEP and SHSU this year, cellar dwellers of C-USA and as well as SJSU. So.. glass houses and such.

What a cesspool.

Sark clearly allows for audibles to be made in his offense by the QB. Does no one remember the Arizona St. season saving TD pass last year?

Now back to your regularly scheduled rumor mongering.

Washington is a much better program all time than ole miss. 3 coaches have played for national championships or in the playoffs since the 1990s. Sark never had them competitive in that discussion in any year.

Ole Miss hasn't been relevant annually since the 1960s.

Ole Miss ten 10 win seasons. Lane has 3 of those.

Ole Miss has fifteen top top 11 seasons. Lane is about to get his 4th.

Washington has fifteen 10 win seasons. Sark has 0 of those.

Washington has 17 top 11 seasons. Sark has 0 of those.

Its a team in the SEC, it's the data we have to go on. Lane isn't who I would pick. You like Lane fantastic. I prefer a proven winner at the highest level. Does that mean we will get one, history says no. There is an entire thread about the future coach. My entire premise is Lane is mid and more importantly I think Sark should be gone.

That is it. That's all. Thats why I'm not posting in the next head coach thread.

While I think Lane is lame and don't want him as Texas HC, would he be more consistent that Sark?

Probably.

In that case let’s compare Iowa st big 8 record to Oklahoma’s?

Who'd be in your Top 5?

I'd enjoy having Kiffin for the trolling and snark alone. But, I also think he's a better offensive mind and game day coach than Sark is, too. Just my opinion. Plus, think of how much harder it is to build a program at Ole Miss vs Texas.

Like off the cuff I’d make a run at Cignetti, Lanning, urban, Saban, freeman before looking at Lane

do I think Lane can win here?  Yep.  I think he’s better than Sark.   But he’s mouthy, sarcastic, brash and tha doesn’t play well here

that was protection audible. I do not think anyone knows how much leeway Sark allows on audibles. Is it only minor changes? Are there gameplan audibles vs certain looks? Does he have tags on some calls?

Lane can beat OU, Georgia and aggy.  What's not to like about that?

Quinn called an audible for the 4th down play.  Golden confirmed it.  Quinn also audibled to a run against Clemson that led to a big Blue TD run.

I just want a drill sergeant that can delegate that hires the best possible staff. And if there are players phoning it in this drill sergeant will tell them to portal the fuck out. That’s what I want. I am not likely to get what I want and I accept it. I may opt for a lobotomy after Christmas so I can believe it’s just a matter of personnel only. And bitch and moan about the staff and players like 99% of fans of most teams do and say “we were just a player or two away…next year is our year.” It’s easier that way.

This week I have been getting texts and calls from alumni that I know that are active in NIL and go to all of the events CDC and Sark go to and everyone is openly talking about rumors of Sark’s past demons returning on top of Jerry Springer-esque sex stories. These are people who get called by CDC to donate money. When he was hired we all had concerns over his sobriety issues reappearing but we were assured those were under control.

The team is broken on the field right now for two main reasons and both of those reasons can be traced to a failed offseason (defensive back coaching hire and offensive line transfer portal decisions). Now we are learning our coach was potentially distracted by the very demons we were told were under control and that is potentially why 2025 is a lost year. There absolutely will be consequences and my guess is they have the required contract language to fire him for cause if they felt that was necessary. But from what I can gather they would  rather he get his shit together and make major changes in the offseason.  I have no idea if going 0-2 to finish the year changes that mindset.

This is the conundrum. Some BMDs need all the glad handing sort of social shit Mack was great at. They miss it, a drill sergeant isn’t going to want to do most of that shit. Appearances and things. Most BMDs from what I gather want what I want. We will see who wins out. I guess??? Solid post btw.

The most reliable broad team metric for discipline is penalties.

Of the names we've seen thrown around for Texas including the current head coach only Indiana, OSU and Oregon are in thr top 20.

In 2024 Oregon and OSU were top 20. Indiana was 28, but it was his first year.

If discipline is your top metric those are probably your top 3.

In total offense for 2025 Oregon, Indiana, Ole Miss and Notre Dame are top 20. OSU comes in at 25. In 2024 only Oregon and Texas made the top 25 none top 20.

In total defense for 2025 OSU, Oregon and Indiana are all top 5.  Georgia and Alabama are in the top 20 and Texas comes in at 23. In 2024 Indiana, OSU and Texas were top 3, while Ole Miss, Oregon and ND were top 20.

If discipline, defense and offense is your goal the data point to Lanning, Day and Cignetti. Freeman would appear to be a distant 4th with Lane following not to far behind.

That is without consideration of SOS or SOR. However, those have near zero impact on discipline or penalties in broad terms. The metrics for Texas/Sark in penalties is... not good in 2025, 2024, 2023 with the highest ranking twice being 73 out of 133 and considerably lower at 119 this year.

Also this in no way spells out who Texas COULD get as an HC. In that instance Lane appears the most open to a change.

It just seems to me that getting all of our horses pulling in the same direction is and was so hard that the guys with the time, sweat, and big money contributed would be aggressive in protecting all that investment. If even 25% of these rumors are true then its impossible not to link this failed season with Sark's off the field bullshit. If it were me, I would feel betrayed by Sark after we gave him the keys to the kingdom despite has major shithead past. Even after hiring him he's received a lot of patience and goodwill from the donors and administration. A bad DB coach hire is one thing and that stuff is gonna happen, but the O Line situation is just beyond unacceptable. Thats just negligence and hes being paid way too much and being thrown too much support to have such a fundamental failure inside the roster. Sark should be coming to our guys with hat in hand after this season and I just dont see that happening with the guy. He deserves to have his wings clipped in the form of losing playcalling duties but I just dont think he will play ball with that idea.

I would say the majority of fans here dislike Arch. In an interesting note, his #40 ranking in QB total yardage is the single highest metric of any offensive statistic for Texas offense. This despite a horrible offensive game plan by Sark, horrible rushing, near most rushed QB in college football, WRs and TEs dropping passes and no running game.

So, he is the singular bright spot on an otherwise putrid offense.
