UPDATE 10:40 pm:

Berymon tells OTF he is still “100% committed to Texas” and remains in the class.

Though now more willing to listen to schools elsewhere it appears.

What is the pressure from the collectives?  We’ll nix your deal?

Collectives are paying monthly to athletes already, some legal and some illegally. With those payments expectations are you’re not visiting elsewhere and if you do then those monthly’s stop

There's also probably pressure on paying anything that has been paid back (at least verbally), unless it's explicitly stated in the contract (which I'm not sure is allowed, anyways).

Most definitely. Seems like programs who ran bag game are doing this so pressure may be there from that side to do as you described.

What’s the story here? Next year’s roster would have Manning, Bell, Lacey already.

I think he's just playing quarterback out of necessity in high school. RB/WR type at the next level.

He has over 1,300 rushing yards this year.

I guess, but then that means I’m no longer considering coming to your school to play football. I’m sure most of these top kids could likely negotiate the new school paying them a “bonus” to possibly pay back whatever they may owe.

Not likely he is a QB at the next level.

That's called negligence and poor roster management. We have an upperclassmam five-star, followed by a low four-star, then a five-star frosh. That's not how you win championships. That's poor recruiting, followed by dumbassary and pandering instead of going out to get the best players to battle it out.

Ohio State

Bama

Georgia

Have all done this and it works. What we're doing is pure stupidity.

Sark could be battling Bama for Elijah Haven, Gunner Rivers, Colton Nussmier, and if Kavien Bryant wanted in, sure, fine. I don't personally care for him as a QB, but if he switched to us, cool. Instead it will be Arch, Lacey, and Bell, followed by some transfer. That's not how you win the NC

 just take a look at

Ohio State - two five stars followed by two top-50 guys

Bama - two five stars followed by a top-75 recruit

Georgia's QB rooms.- they'll have a five-star followed by a top-50, top-75, top -100, and a top-150 + top-200.

We have an upperclassmam five-star., unranked four-star, and a frosh five-. Then a transfer. That's not NC winning QB recruiting.

Am I missing the sarcasm?

None. Go take a look at their QB rosters and even look at ours. It's beyond grim.

Next year, two of our three QBs will have been the top QB in their class. And the other is KJ Lacey. I think we're doing ok there.

You realize our qb room is “thin” bc nobody wants to wait behind Bell and Arch right? It’s cool to have 4 5 star qbs but you can only play one at a time. They will always leave.

Two things: 1. They’re also expensive, and it’s an inefficient use of capital to put too much into a room where only one guy plays. 2. Never go full Spider2YBanana.

Of course try will leave. That's not the point. The point is year after year these programs, regardless of who they have are are still going after elite QBs, because at some point one is going to hit, rather than banking on one you picked out.

One will be gone after the season, and then we have a JAG in our '27 class. Do. you still think that's fine? We'll have.Lacey (who wasn't highly ranked), Bell, and then some JAG. Are we still good then? If by some miracle we'll have Owens, another low four-star who hasn't done anything, so we're back to square one.

I'm not going to quote you because of the large number of people who have you on ignore. But who is this JAG you're talking about?

But, point being, you said our QB roster is "beyond dire". Next year is Arch Manning, KJ Lacey, and Dia Bell. So I don't really know what to tell you there. But, I can remember when we had an actual dire situation at QB, and our response was to bring in Kai Locksley.

Sure, some will leave and some will stay. That's how competitions works. Bell isn't a sure thing, and neither is Lacey, so again, we're back to square one. We need actual high-level guys to come in and take the job. Lacey was an unranked four-star,  but people are just pencilng him like he's just going to step in and light the world on fire. This is exactly why Sark needs rk find dudes who want competition. If they don't they're pussies. We can't keep going every other year with a new QB. It's just not sustainable for winning.

Why is this difficult to grasp?

Being ignored means nothing to me. Those are just pussies who can't handle someone on a messaboard typing out words. They're soft.

The JAG I'm speaking about is Owens if he comes back. I have faith in Lacey, but Bell needs time to adjust to the game, and then after him it's....another frosh and a transfer. We shouldn't even be in this position to begin with. We should be recruiting high-level QBs and let them sort it out. If an injury occurs at least we have someone (hopefully) capable to take over for a few games.

Is that like jumbo shrimp?

tbh I never liked the Lacey take when  it became apparent he wouldn't deliver Ryan Williams

I'm with you. I'm not Tok high on him, but at the same time he's shown from HS he can command an offense. Regardless, he'll probably transfer out, too.
