Fuck this. Fuck this right here.

Pierce managed his ass off to get this shitty team to the CWS. It's all or nothing in an elimination game and Shugart wants the fucking ball so you give it to him. He walked a dude and Maldonado hit a fantastic 2 strike pitch to drive in a run, threw a meatball to India and paid the price for it but that's baseball.

Pierce pushed all the right buttons to get here and simply doesn't have enough on the roster to compete with these teams that are much better. Fact.

While all that is true, you don't leave a kid out there to take that beating, when everyone could see it coming.

Pierce has flirted with disaster all postseason with our pitching. I don’t put the Arky game on him, but he really lucked out against Tenn Tech. Despite his overall Herculean effort, that doesn’t absolve him of criticism in managing pitchers. He pulls guys too soon and did way too soon with Henley in the 3rd. No way Shugart should’ve had that PC in the 6th.

JFC, we had no business beating TennTech and we did. Shugart is our best option and he is average. Kingman is average. Henley is average.

Bocchi is our best starter right now. We have a 5'11 first baseman that would not start at DBU. A left fielder who should be on the bench as a good, college utility player. Same for Center Field. Reynolds and Zubia need a break and to get back to hitting basics. Our Catcher should be a DH, he is below average behind the plate....

Meaning it was clear Shugarts was out of gas, and you left him in to take a beating for no reason other than bad managing. Should have gone to get him after the BB.

we don't have any other good arms. It's pretty much ride or die with Shugart in this situation.

It's why Pierce rolled with Henley today and Shugart out of the pen. He knows Texas doesn't have the arms to shut down these type teams outside of his best arms.

I really think most people talking shit about that decision haven't watched many games this year.

They haven't. If they've seen our bullpen they would know why Pierce doesn't trust our pen and why Pierce wisely decided to bring Shugart out of the pen today.
