My sons think it’s funny that when we are watching a game Al Horford is playing in to yell out to the room: Hey Dad didn’t you play against him in high school?

….knowing damn well that it was Al Horford’s FATHER, Tito, that I played against

We already knew that. Pretty sure you were in College while Caine was walking the earth in Kung Fu.

Low end of old age, imo. Any dude who was regularly choppin' it up with the Houston Oiler's O-line pre Luv Ya Blue days is at least mid-60's

Just turned 60 - it sucked - but better than the alternative. But I would be careful engaging in this conversation with Tforn. You are only 10 less than me. I think he is in his 30s.

About 17 years ago I was having a conversation with a med school student from UGA and he was saying that Georgia hadn’t had a good kicker in years. And I said who was that guy who kicked like a 62 yarder … I think his name was Butler. He said he didn’t know a Butler, then thought about it for a second, and said “Wait a minute, that’s Kevin Butler, his son is on the team now”. I turned around and walked away in shame.

Well, sure that’s a funny story. But that was like 17 years ago. That kid for Georgia is 36 now and his son will probably be kicking for Georgia pretty soon. MTF, getting old sucks.

That actually surprises me. Didn't CTJ post on the old 360 board?

Texas hoops recruiting: Targets coming into focus

The final "live period" for evaluation has concluded, and that means the top targets in the 2026 class is quickly coming into focus for Sean Miller and staff.

It's still up in the air if Texas will sign a two or three player high school class. One thing is for sure, there are two players  from inside the Texas line that the Longhorns feel are must gets.

Labor Day weekend OV ...
Austin (Texas) Westlake guard Bo Ogden is scheduled to make his OV August 30th weekend. Texas leads big here over Purdue. Ogden put together a tremendous spring and summer on the Adidas 3SSB circuit averaging over 21 points per game, and connecting on 51% from three with a game that continues to expand. Make no mistake, Sean Miller wants Ogden at Texas.

OTF %: 90% Texas

September 5th weekend ...
The top target on the board Austin Goosby (Melissa, Texas/High) is scheduled to make his OV September 5-6. Texas and Duke will battle this one out until close to the November early signing period. BYU, SMU and Miami are also giving it their all. The younger brother of left tackle Trevor Goosby should be considered a slight lean to the Horns over the Blue Devils.

OTF %: 60% Texas

Five-star PF Cameron Williams (Phoenix, Az../St. Mary's) is also scheduled to be in the 5th weekend. Texas receives the first OV followed by Purdue, Kentucky, Duke and USC.

September 12th weekend ...
Five-star PG Taylen Kinney (Overtime Elite via Kentucky) will make his OV to Texas the 12-13th weekend. The 6-foot-1 point guard has already made OV's to Purdue, Louisville and Kentucky. He has OV's to Kansas, Indiana and Oregon prior to Texas. Arkansas gets the last OV September 26-27.

Supersonic national riser Bryson Howard (Frisco, Texas/Heritage) visits the 12-13th as well. The borderline 5-star SG/wing is the son of former NBA player and current UNT Dallas head coach Josh Howard. The 6-5.5 versatile prospect has his pick of blue blood's and top programs to visit.

September 19th weekend ...
Five-star PG Deron Rippey Jr. (Blairstown, N.J./Blair Academy) will visit Texas following trips to Kentucky, Miami, North Carolina and Alabama. Syracuse receives the last OV following Texas.

At least one more to be scheduled ...
Five-star PF Anthony Thompson (Hudson, Ohio/Western Reserve) is also expected to make an OV to Texas. He has yet to announce dates. The 6-foot-7.5 lefty is a sharp-shooting floor spacer that makes terrific reads with the ball. Auburn, Kansas, BYU, Indiana and Ohio State are the main competition.
