this is what happens when you hire really good people and you win.  they get plucked away for promotions/more $$$.  the Sarkisian Coaching Tree is starting to grow.
let's go hire another bad ass and keep on winning.  the line of stud candidates forms to the left.  we are Texas.
The tree only works if the coach in question climbs the ladder. Sure he's getting a bit more money at LSU, but it's a lateral move and money we could have matched. The son having one last shot at becoming a pro player was the deciding factor.

Beau went to high school outside of Detroit when Bo was coaching for the Lions.  I certainly don't know if he followed along for all of Bo's moves, but they were pretty close knit, I wouldn't assume otherwise.
At any rate, I wouldn't criticize a chance to coach one's kid along with a pay raise.  Sounds like we just couldn't make things work out.
Yeah, Sark got to do that with his kid this season. Not sure he ever saw the field on Gameday, but he was wearing the uniform on the same field as his dad at least.

3. Tray Scott, Georgia -- $1 million
3. Sean Spencer, Florida -- $1 million

Davis is under contract through next season. Does that not matter in what appears to be a lateral move?

We’ll likely get a 3rd or 4th round compensatory pick.

One of two coaches we couldn't afford to lose gotdammit. Surprised someone hasn't come after Choice offering to tack on bullshit "co-OC, running game coordinator, special assistant to the HC" etc titles . The NFL may not value RB's anymore but they're still vital to winning CFB games.

Honestly feel we will be fine, I feel this way because it seems like Texas is flexing like never before. All that shit talk about we're Texas, and then nothing really. I feel confident whoever Sark and staff get is going to be a good one. (Maybe better)

Love Bo, everything he has done for us, but LSU overpaid.

The only coach we can’t afford to lose is Sark. He’ll get someone good and the machine will keep turning.  Hate to see Davis go, but I get it. I’d do the same thing in his situation.  He’s not the only great Dline coach and Sark has built something people will want to be a part of.

Time to go get Charlie Partridge at Pitt. Always coaches up his guys and is an elite D-line coach. He was the guy at Wiscy that convinced JJ Watt to shift from TE to d-line and coached him up.

Looks like Partridge, who I wanted Texas to hire, is off to the NFL:
