Aoc is trump in brown skin.
A fucking idiot.

This stuck in my mind. It's a surrender.

Ever since Ocasio-Cortez won her race, the hate engine has been trying to make her the poster child of Dem idiocy and liberal malice. They made a huge mistake.

OMG! As a young woman, she did a fun dance on the top of building. AOC does a charming replay of the dance outside of her office in the House.

Since then, it's been stooping to their usual depths of distorting what she says. She doesn't know there are three branches of government!

Look at all these lies, the engine exclaims with no sense of self awareness or irony. She wants to destroy America with socialism! She's a red!

Only the choir listens, and outside of the choir box you don't hear much in the way of amen.

White flag emerges in the form of this last attack.

Okay, she's kicking our ass. We got a few blows in, but now our own face is unrecognizable.

Hey, when they've refuted us in the past, we just pair that person with the vilest person on our own side and claim they're the same. We seem like we're seeing both sides while getting in a last shot.

AOC is just a vile, profoundly destructive POS like the POTUS* who, of course, we hate just like you! (snicker, we don't hate really hate Trump).

And don't forget she's brown.

* POTUS is actually POSUS?  Yes, I think so. I agree with Willie's lie about his own opinion! We're friends!

Just remember, the same group that calls this honors BU grad (double major in Econ and Intl relations) an "idiot" and "ignorant" also lionized as a genius the total fraud Paul Ryan, a no-honors grad of a school ranked 50+ spots lower.   Both were first elected in their late 20s, although AOC built from scratch a campaign that took down the most powerful Dem in NY, while Paul Ryan beat a 29-year-old pianist for an open seat.

There may be another big difference, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

I was told four years ago by some idiot on the Internet that there would be running gun battles with ISIS fanatics in the streets of Eagle Pass and Del Rio by now. He assured me that the Cartels were in cahoots with ISIS and smuggling them over here because....everyone knows Mexican drug lords love to attract the attention of the CIA and the Pentagon, I guess. They were bored with the heat they'd already drawn.

And that this isn’t happening, you have President Donald J Trump to thank. His superior leadership and unrivaled forethought have solved this problem in 2 years or less!  Also he is super healthy and extremely stable.

This is just statistically speaking such a stupid thing to say. The Dems could nominate a paper bag and the race would still come down to maybe a million people scattered across five different states. Everyone has a chance to beat him, and everyone has a chance to lose to him.

what the dems are wise enough to realize is we'd be better off with a paper bag as president than trump.   i'll vote for the paper bag over trump any day.

Yeah but what are the odds the Dems nominate a candidate better than a paper bag?!

Shit.  My apologies.  Typo.  Should have read "yeah but what are the odds the Dems nominate a candidate smarter than a paper bag.". Mea culpa.

I suggest AOC spend a little more time taking care of her district and a little less time fighting the establishment

Why?  Last real poll I saw, from April, showed that she is quite popular in her district:  https://www.politico.com/states/new-york/albany/story/2019/04/09/ny-14-voters-like-ocasio-cortez-and-mostly-approve-of-her-policy-positions-even-if-they-dont-label-themselves-democratic-socialists-962114

I see some bullshit polls from the "Stop the AOC PAC" that show otherwise, but nothing nearly as credible as the Siena poll.

Why? Caban was the underdog and has been battling up hill the entire time. Katz has the establishment going for her. I voted for caban by the way but did consider Katz.

Day after election stopped paying attention but Really surprised to see the provisional ballots all break 5v1 for Katz. There were like 6 candidates, but all those ballots went to Katz? Not saying shenanigans but that is hella good luck for Katz. The ny post article does say the BoE has experience with close races so it does seem like the correct winner will be ascertained.

Imagine giving a shit what David Frum thinks or says.

What would you say to those that claim Evita was a Fascist and aided Nazis in to relocating into Argentina?  There are many that do not hold her in the same regard that AOC does with that tweet.

AOC cranks it up to 11.

Pelosi has made this situation worse.  She could have used it to her advantage by remaining silent and letting AOC fire up the base.  But no, she had to throw cold water over all that progressive energy because? Why? To protect a few moderates?

Yet another fuck up and unforced error.  AOC is a superstar right now and Pelosi is too far out of touch to capitalize on it.

SAD!

Super star ?  Besides making lots of interesting comments, and creating  some photo op moments, what exactly has she accomplished that would garner the term superstar ?  She's a shiny new toy. She has zeal, and fire, and I applaud that, but let's reserve the superlatives for actual accomplishments.

^Yep. You got elected to fight. Now fight like hell. Don't play prevent defense for 2 years based on some hypothetical handicapping of the '20 election.

If our country survives, these new, young Ds in Congress are going to be very formidable in 5-10 years.

We’ve done this dance before.  What has Donald Trump accomplished before he became president?  Was he a superstar before he was president?  Did his manipulation of the media have real world consequences?  Like him becoming president, banning Muslims, starting a trade war, putting kids in cages?

This narrative of yours is fucktarded.

I think there's plenty of blame to go around in this AOC-Pelosi kerfuffle, but IMO it really doesn't matter.

At a time that the Democrats should be walking with the chests puffed out and arm-n-arm singing kumbaya together after the big wins in 2018, instead we have this ridiculous infighting and purity tests between the progressives (some would say radical left) and moderates (some would say DINOs).

Pelosi needs to remember that firing up the base (which AOC does) is essential to fundraising and turnout, and AOC needs to remember that she is no more a newly elected US rep than Abby Spanberger.  In fact, it wasn't the AOCs and Ilhan Omars winning that flipped the house; it was the Spanbergers and Lizzie fletchers and Connor Lambs that did it.

Is this one of those But Trump moments ?   I mean this is a thread entitled Alexandria Ocasio Cortez.

I've never said Trump was a super star. Your hoisting her atop the superstar status train is just plain ignorant, and way way way premature.

Pelosi needs to lead.  She isn’t.

AOC is leading because Pelosi is not.

Pelosi doesn’t like that someone else is leading.

It’s basically that simple.

The Democrats are afraid of their own shadow which is why they lose so much.

Tweeting is not leading. AOC is good, but she has a lot more to do before she is a leader. Right now she is an employee of the people she represents.
