Yep, this track sucks. Glad it’s gone.

I mean, pretty universally the ones they are adding aren't great. More Miamis and Madrid ain't great for anyone.

At least this track has some cool banked turns vs being some race in a parking lot (I know Madrid had a banked turn)

I just want cool and good tracks instead of these assholes chasing money.

Antonelli is kind of becoming a menace.  He’s taken out max and Sam now in wtf moves.

Yeah I think they brought him in too soon, but who could have predicted that? Oh, wait. I and many others did.

Re: taking out Charles, think about this: Antonelli got the same penalty for that that Sainz got for minor contact that was really just a racing incident. Which is insane. Penalize positions, please, or at least allow more variance in the time penalties - 5s, 10s, 15s, DQ, etc.

Both things can be true. There’s lots of great tracks that they have sadly left behind.

In a perfect world, a DQ penalty would fix a lot of problems.  I don't have much confidence in it's application though.  I think that would be a nightmare by itself.  They would have to come up with some black and white rules for it.

A rough year for Albon? He's tied for 7th in points, even w/ 3 DNF, with almost 2x as many points scored as his past 3 years.  Aside from the retirements, his results are almost on par with what he was putting up for Red Bull.

He's been great this year and so has the result. This is the quickest car he's had with Williams, but it hasn't been the easiest to drive, which is often the case. By 'rough', I was just referring to how smoothly the year seems to have gone for him so far, not his results so far. More about how hard he's had to fight to get them. 3 retirements in a row, etc. In the past it seemed like he had an easier time of getting the best he could get from worse cars.

I just don't get Caddy's fascination with Herta, other than he's American. He's just not that good. He's not even the quickest American. If they must have an American, even Sargeant is quicker than Colton, and I'm sure the damage done to his confidence at Williams could be repaired.

Lmao wut. Sargeant was never anything special and he’s not faster than Herta. Herta has some of the best raw speed in IndyCar. Andretti has fucked him over so many times and lost him a bunch of races and podiums. Herta’s also way better at road courses and street tracks, which obviously helps him in F1. I’m not saying he’s a star, but I think he’s the most promising American prospect and after Palou, him and O’Ward are on a similar tier as the most potential of any of the IndyCar guys.

really like to hear why you think Sargeant is faster? dude hasn't been in a real race of any kind for like 13 months and had one of the worst F1 seasons vs his teammate in recent history?

also, Sargeant getting out quali'd 34-1 (i think) vs Albon kind of says it all for me (i think Albon scored 39 points to his 1 during same timeframe)

even Mazepin went 3-19 against Mick.

is this thinking a lot of Logan or thinking so little of Colton Herta?

Logan was the first American FIA karting world champ since Lake Speed. He was very quick in F1 testing before he made it there. Podium in almost every F4 race he drove. Fourth in Formula Renault with three wins. Lost the F3 title to teammate Piastri in the last race after being tied with him heading into it. He was knocked out of the race on the first lap iirc. Lost in F2 to his teammate Lawson by one point despite having two more DNFs. Herta did a test with Mclaren at Portimao 3 years ago, but we didn't hear much about it afterward and that was the end of it iirc. Pato has driven multiple times for Mclaren since then and will drive again for them again in FP1 in Mexico this year. Sure, Albon beat Logan badly in a bad car, but in a good car, Albon is also absolutely destroying Sainz.  I'd take Pato or McLaughlin or esp Palou over Herta any day, but they aren't Murcan, so ...

It's more 'thinking little of Colton Herta'. I don't think they should put Logan in the car. Williams left him in that POS far too long and absolutely crushed him mentally. He's a shell now of what he was before he got into F1. I'm just saying they could do much better than putting Herta in that seat.

ETA: BTW Logan just got an IMSA  LMP2 ride for Indy & Petit LeMans. So that's pretty cool.
