We are in a 17 games in a row stretch....don't worry our mastermind manager has it all figured out lol

Probably get some Dubon pitching tonight the way this is going

We had a stretch like that a few weeks ago, mostly on the road.

We burnt up the black sox pen pretty bad. The guy I bitched about fluffing it 40mph wasn’t even a pitcher. Some jag off the bench that they had to put in.

Garcia does really well at 3B. He's got a hella vertical, and I've seen him jump to make catches that others would have had end up in the outfield. Hasn't been hitting as well so far this year, but he's a good guy and can play some ball.

And my Pasquatch at 1B. He does the spits to grab a ball and my nuts hurt from watching.

Renfroe is a liability, so was Melendez and Tolbert. Latter two aren't an issue now. Maybe for our AAA, but not for us.

NW Arky is working Caglione for us, and getting him up to speed on the outfield. He's fine with that, and happy to play. Can't wait for him to come on up, once he's ready in the outfield.

It honestly feels like we hit bullets with runs in scoring position for no runs but we always give up bloops for runs.

I'll be flat honest, aside from mid-relief pitching, small ball has been our nemesis. We've left a LOT of runners stranded this season (and last) that have cost us games.

Somehow tonight they've turned it on, and gotten the small hits to move runners around.

This team offensively is weak and slow. Below league average in 2Bs, HRs, and SBs. Nothing exiting about a station to station team with a dumb ass managing it.

haven't looked it up but radio was talking about may hitting numbers being up, except for runs

We talked about this on the pod last night. Offense after a good last 14 days has gotten back to an average ops+.

I think I'd rather be bad than meh.

I just hope we have some clarity about where this team is headed before the trade deadline so the Framber question is a no-brainer. Although many of us already know where we're headed.

Let's hope leadership (does it exist?) can make the call committing to a rebuild instead of thinking being average is simply the next step toward being consistently great again.

We are doing the same things we did before McLane sold the team to Crane. Signing vets instead of letting the younger guys play, then waiting too long to trade our vets for real return, save for the Tucker deal which is a lot like the Pence deal, but with a much better player we got a much better return.

The biggest mistake we made was not extending Brown, after his rookie season. You waited too long and now he's pitching like a TOR and there is no shot of buying out any of his FA seasons on a team friendly deal. Now he's likely here for another 3 seasons after this one, and we will not have any type of real offense to pair with him.

No one should trust Crane anymore.

2 great Framber starts in a row.
his first 8 games last year are almost an exact mirror image of his first 8 games this year. Then he ripped off really freaking awesome performances for the rest of the year.
if that goes like last year and Hunter Brown stays really good, even if not completely dominant this team will win a shitload of games.

Sucks Framber didn’t get the win

The way baseball awards wins to pitchers is so fucking dumb. The guy gave up 1 run in 8 innings, and doesn't get the win because the tie was broken in the 9th?  How does that make any sense?

One thing I can’t shake is the absolute lack of… anything (?) from this team. Even the celebration last night felt more like “well, this is what we are supposed to do when this happens” rather than some genuine outpouring of emotion.

Maybe I’m projecting or maybe I’m just spoiled from the rare vibes we had for a decade, but it is really hard to get attached to these guys.

Forrest Whitley struck out 2 over a scoreless inning in his rehab appearance for Sugar Land tonight. He was up to 98.5 MPH. #Astros

Which normally results in his going down for 30-days.

Whitley pitching on a regular basis for the Astros would be great, but until it happens  he is just a hope and a dream
