The SSA has a webpage where you can see the popularity of any name going back to like 1900. If the name doesnt show up, it means it was not in the top 1000 names for any year. In Jalen's case, I think you can make the case that he might in fact be responsible for the sudden name popularity. Prior to 1992, it was never in the top 1000. In 1992 (second of the fab 5 final fours) it shows up all of the sudden at #378. I guess it could be a coincidence, but I bet not. Fab 5 was a big media story.

yeah, that's what I mean.   The name may have existed prior.   He is the reason it gained such popularity

Jalen Rose reached the finals and won MIP in 2000. No coincidence most of the Jalen/Jaylin/Jaylen/etcs in the league were born around 2001-2003

I'd argue he was way more famous from 1992-95

Makes sense for Brunson (1996)

This is not going well for Golden State. They may come back and win but I don't like how confident Kerr was about G6 deciding to not put their starters back in in G5.

Butler flops all over the place. Worse than Brunson.

Just when I'm starting to think that Houston is the most unlikeable team on the floor, Golden State starts to do Golden State shit (e.g. Butler flopping, Draymond being himself, Curry chewing on his mouthpiece, refs gifting GS phantom calls and so forth).

I really can't believe we are in 2025 and intentional fouling a big man is still a thing.

I'm glad it backfired. That shit's not basketball. Especially with someone like Adams, the misses can be so violent, that a defensive rebound is far from guaranteed.

I've been contemplating this question since the start of this series, and I still have no idea who I hate more between Draymond and Dillon Brooks.

I feel like a lot of neutral fans would say Steven Adams' presence cancels out his shittiness, but the Warriors don't really have someone as likeable to cancel out Draymond.

I know he was bad with the Grizz but has Brooks been the same level of ass-clown with Houston?

Individually I don't really hate anyone in this series I've just had enough of this Ws dynasty.

Steve Kerr is a solid counterweight for me.

Kerr probably needs to think about sitting the old guys. They ain't coming back.

He's doing the opposite of what he did last game. I don't get it.

Quinten Post is getting 20 minutes a game this series to provide 6 points and 4 rebounds on 32%/31% shooting (the latter being the one and only reason he's out there). And he's an absolute turnstile on defense. Yep, no way Kuminga would be able to replicate that. Best to crush his remaining confidence and trade value.

Just popped into to say Zach Lowe is a fucking hack.

Dude claims "Hey I'm' just doing an unbiased poll" while at the same fucking time INFLUENCING the Poll and promoting it in a way that the voters follow along with it cause hey, if this poll is right then they must be the MVP.

It's why he's post December poll hnoas been basically 100% right every year now. The dude clearly influences the poll and talks about it non stop so he's basically become the one picking the MVP every year.

no one know what you're talking about, but you're a fucking moron.

GS started Draymond at the 5 and Butler at the 4.  Houston showed them that is, and always will be, a big man's game.

perhaps small ball was only a gimmick when you have 2 of the best three point shooters in the history of the nba in their prime on the same team.
