This Hellebuyck redemption arc feels extremely forced. He had a terrible playoffs overall. He made 18 saves on 20 shots tonight. Enjoy the offseason.

What is this in reference to? He didn't lose this game, but he didn't save it either

ESPN announcers, Leah Hextall, ticket post-game guys. Trying to downplay how shit he has been up until game 5 of this series overall.

realllyyyy hope we turn Miro loose. skating 11/7 is clearly taking a physical toll on Rantanen and would love some balanced lines. Felt like they were phasing out Ilya tonight. Blackwell would be a nice jolt to return

Woohoo! I’m at Kilby Block Party in SLC. Missed Game 5 because I was seeing New Order. Missed tonight because of St Vincent and Weezer. Saw score at 1-0 for Jets and then lost all service. Popped it back up and saw final!!!!

I'll almost certainly be by the Michelob Ultra draft station in that corner close to section 103/104.  In a black long sleeve shirt with Stars logo (on a winning streak with that shirt so can't change it up LOL).

By the way, don’t stop wearing it.

Insta plays on laptop & iPhone if you click right in the middle. Not sure why he posted one twice though.

I assumed he was posting it once for each year old it is.

I’ve seen some of these lopsided wins in other series and I want them for myself

well, the west is the demonstrably better league and the Stars have had to go through two cup favorites already. I'd be sorta surprised if there are any blowouts left. Maybe Skinner has an off day and let's three in a row in or something, but I expect both series to be tight and the games close. I wouldn't be surprised if multiple games go to OT

On the one hand, Skinner's record against Vegas was a red blinking warning light.  We've seen the red-hot (but otherwise quite mediocre) goalie end promising Stars playoff runs before.  Yeah--I'm talking about you, J.S. Giguere.

At the same time, I'm just a little bit shocked at how easy an out Vegas was this year.  They didn't look great against Minnesota in the first round.  And let's just be honest--Minnesota this year wasn't a particularly great team.  That Vegas let that series go seven is an indictment on that Vegas team.  And then that indictment turned into a conviction in Round 2 when they just didn't look like they were in the same class as Edmonton.

So I really don't know what I think about Edmonton and Skinner.  I mean, I think they're probably a bit better than last year.  But I think the Stars are also better than they were last year.

Edmonton had goalie problems coming into the Vegas series. Injury and Vegas's offensive lethargy makes them think they've solved it. While you don't want to get into a score-fest with McDavid and Draisaitl, if goaltending becomes and issue for the Oilers, they really don't have the means to fix it.

I honestly believe that last season's meat-tenderizer series against Vegas left the Stars so spent at the end that they faltered. I think that Mir Heiskanen's injury forced us to discover the greatness of Harley and Bischell this season. Rather than paste together our least-bad defensive pairings, Dallas has an embarrassment of riches. Plus, Mikko's on our bench now.

Yeah, I'll keep it going as long as I can.  Didn't have a hat on though but now that I think of it someone in our group was wearing black with a hat so yeah might have been our group you saw.  I know a group of about 9 people that have or share season tix in different locations and think Sat night might have been first time all year for 100% attendance.

My nagging thought is what is so different this year than last, to lead to a different result?  Mikko?  Less game worn through 2 series?  Mikko doesn’t make us faster, that’s still going to be an issue.

I don't know if we'll win but I'll take this roster over last years for sure and I still think last year we were at least equal than Edmonton and just ran out of gas.  We lost Tanev but Harley is now a flat out superstar.  His game has dramatically improved year over year.  Bischel is showing the playoffs aren't too big for him with the limited minutes he plays and brings a physical approach we need. With a now healthy Miro I like our blue line over last year even without Tanev. Do you all recall essentially going 5 D rounds 2 and 3 last year as they couldn't trust Nils?  On offense, all we did is add a superstar + Granlund (who has been a very underrated trade acquisition even before his hat trick).   Benn is getting older and slower but not near the decline we saw from Pavelski last year that actively hurt us.  We've yet to really see either of Robo (should be pretty healthy now I would think) or Duchene get going.

Given the layoff (thanks ESPN for choosing our series and giving us the extra day of rest) + minutes Miro was able to play last game, I would think we go back to a traditional 6D lineup and roll 4 lines.  I fully expect this series to be a war and Edmonton has been on a 9 game heater but I like our chances.

Edmonton is much more than McDavid/Draisaitl this season, it appears. They still have Skinner/Pickard in net. Skinner beat our ass last year so I have to give him that. But I think the Stars are better, especially with Rantanen now.

Regarding Minnesota, I think you're not giving them enough credit. The Wild had the best record in the NHL -- or close to it -- when they were wrecked with injuries. Minnesota got healthy near the end of the year and went on a run to make the playoffs and gave Vegas all it could handle.

Mikko doesn't make us faster but he's makes us a better scoring team. You're going to have to score some goals to beat the Oilers.

For the second time in three series, I'm picking the Stars' opponent to win the series if you're putting a gun to my head. I didn't like how the Stars were playing headed into the Colorado series but they gutted through it. I flat out thought we would lose to the Avs. I didn't expect a loss to Winnipeg in Round 2 but I also wasn't assuring myself the Stars were beating the Jets either. I'm conflicted on this round. The Stars, like Scottie Scheffler on the back nine yesterday, have righted their ship and now Miro's back. But the Oilers beat us last year and have added pieces that make them even more dangerous. I said it last week -- McDavid and Draisaitl are not going to retire without hoisting the Stanley Cup at least once. I'm almost certain of that. So, I hope I'm very wrong but I'd pick the Oilers to win in six games.

The East is not anywhere near as deep as the West but the two teams in the Finals there are spectacular teams, especially the Panthers. Any of the four left can win the Cup and I think that's fun as fuck. I hope it's our Stars!

the biggest upgrade in my eyes is that we have gotten healthier and seemingly stronger as the playoffs have progressed, which is the exact opposite of the last two seasons. by the time we hit the wcf, we were out of gas. EDM is plenty rested too, so it'll be a good matchup of talent this time.

exactly. we're deeper, younger, and all of our top talent is available. I expect those on the Stars who have been quiet so far to make more noise this round.
