ATL doing work this offseason.  Potentially a top 4 seed in the East health permitting.

Luke Kennard too

So the story on Booker is that he likes the Suns because of the proximity to LA without having to play on one of the LA teams right?

Get paid outrageous sums of money with no real pressure to win in an organization that seems to point fingers at anyone but him for the failures.   Sounds like a pretty sweet gig.

Well, there's a who's who list of teams trying to talk themselves into being one savvy, veteran locker room guy away, despite needing a whole lot more than Al Horford.

Horford will be the one back up big that could spare Joker minutes throughout the dog days of hte season and even in the playoffs.

So he'll end up there, like Hartenstein ended up in OKC

If he went to the Cavs and took Tristan Thompsons spot, that would be alright. And yes, the Cavs could use a veteran leader like him in the locker room, assuming it's a minimum deal. They have a great team, just need to grow a little. Next year is the year!

Uhhhhh yeah, sign Horford too. No brainer with the current roster construction.

He really would fit perfectly as he can play the 4 or 5 and well. Bonus if we can sign him for around what he avg the last 2 years with the Celtics, and we still have funds for another bench player.

I know Gordon was banged up but how much backup 5 did he play in the playoffs?  Two minutes total?  You need a guy with a pulse in that spot if you don’t want Gordon there when the chips are down.

Well this is awkward....

Reese, who is the younger brother of WNBA star Angel Reese, played four seasons at Maryland and averaged 13.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.5 blocks in 36 games during his senior year. Given the Lakers’ lack of frontcourt depth, there could be a path to a roster spot or two-way deal if the 6’9″ forward impresses this summer.

Nothing builds that summer league comradery like posting on social media about wanting to fill your teammate's sister up with cum.

I wouldn't hate that.

I have no clue what the Jazz are doing.  Why would they buyout Jordan Clarkson?  He had one year and $14.2 million left on his contract, that's a good trade chip at the deadline.  I understand that the buyout money counts towards next year's cap, but it seems like a waste of their resources here. Nobody would give them a few 2nds and an expiring deal for him at the very least? Don't know what Ainge is doing there, seems like a lot of misplays on his part.

The Suns are probably going to sign Chris Paul and they’re working towards super maxing Booker. I’m speechless.

The Lakers have to be hunting Ayton right? He should be cheap, he won’t cost anything to acquire, he’s somewhat of a name, and oh yeah he plays center.

No idea what the nets are doing. Big W for the Nugs.

The Nets are bottoming the fuck out. They are taking on a salary that they need anyway to get to the salary floor and in return getting an unprotected first round pick when Jokic is like 37 years old. They can also trade MPJ probably for another first round pick at the deadline in 2027 when his contract is expiring. It's textbook use of cap space for a tanking team. They still have more assets to deal. More tanking, more pick collecting, etc.

maybe don’t give lebron $50M.

I know they gave him his initial contract, but this time around, Bron gave Bron 50Ms.

That whole situation is hilarious to me. LAs roster wasn’t winning anything in the west and then lose the, per media fucks, the best 3rd option in the league.   LA is trying to be in rebuild around Luka mode.   So in true Bron fashion, realizing the team isn’t about him anymore, takes his player option, putting 50 million handcuffs on the front office and has Rich put out a passive aggressive trade request.  Now you’ll start to see guys like Nick Wright question the league cause “how can no one pick up the greatest player evarrrre?!!” All this only week(s) after Bron sits on a podcast talking about how weird ring culture is and it doesn’t matter to him lmfao

The fact of the matter is, not one single contender for a title gets better adding him.  OKC, Cleveland, Houston, NY, Denver are probably your top 5 chances next season.  You aren’t getting Bron without a big contract moving plus young pieces or draft stock.  OKC could do it, in theory, but are coming off a 68 win championship run with every single player that played significant minutes returning.  And Presti isn’t a moron.

To me, it isn’t the number.  For the fans and sales he brings to the organization, he’s worth it.  It’s just the fact that he accepted a player option then immediately had his agent demand a trade request. Decline it and go sign somewhere.

He’s a 40 year old billionaire.  Even if he loses say 20 million in FA (he wouldn’t), that’s 0.01 percent of his worth.  Thats the equivalent of a millionaire losing 20 bucks.

I’ll agree with BOB15 here. Bron could have opted out, and signed a 2 year deal like Harden. This would have freed up enough money for them to sign a real center.

Other than the look at me aspect, I don’t understand his motivations.

the Bucks sniping Ayton would be the funniest thing ever. Laker land would melt down after Palinka would fail to land a center because of *checks notes* Jake Laravia. then lebron would ask out and have no suitors for LeGM and his kid who sucks. itl delay the rebuild around Luka another year or 2. so Luka will be 30 now with a comparable team around him once theyre done with the LeGM fall out

brings a tear to my eye

I want him on the Lakers to tear them apart

[Quick] The tardiness to team flights and practices, according to a team source. The skipping of rehabilitation appointments. Fans saw him (Ayton) slam chairs when he was taken out of games. And a team source said there were tantrums in the locker room when he was sidelined for poor effort.

Buyout, right?

I think he has to be waived in order to use the stretch provision.   He gets the full amount left on his deal.    For buyouts, his full cap number remains on their payroll until the contract would have expired

I assume so. Biggest buyout in league history according to First Take. $20 million in dead cap over the next 5 years. Using that flexibility for Myles Turner is certainly a choice.
