That's what I think, and I wonder if what we didn't see was some sort of deal he cut with Freddy. Otherwise it's one man against how many bikers?

Hence why he got Brandis/Ruffalo to promise him that when it was all over to make sure Maeve is exonerated from any wrong-doing. Sounded like Robby knowing he wasn't going to live through what he's got in mind.

They've done an amazing job of painting Robbie as a sympathetic character...

he robs people at gunpoint ..but they're way worse pieces of shit than he is.

He kidnapped a kid...but it was an accident and he's really nice to him.

He held a CIA officer at gunpoint...but he let him go.

Spoiler

- Everybody called Grasso as the mole. Taking credit for calling your shot is a helobious move.

- That said is didn’t see him being Damon in The Departed level involved in the Dark Hearts. Text warning them in real time is just asking to get caught even on a burner. The only way Grasso slides is if Jayson dies and he’s charged with investigating himself.

- Perry didn’t want to kill Eryn. So what was his plan? Jayson probably kills her if Perry brings her to him. Good, tense scene but one those accidental deaths that works out pretty well for the bad guys.

- I think Robbie’s plan was to have the cops surprise Freddy and the bikers at his cabin. If I’m not mistaken he took the china with him when he did the cold water thing. We didn’t see the whole conversation with Freddy (I think), and we didn’t see Freddy and Jayson’s negotiation. Maybe just maybe Robbie is working with Freddy. He’s the only guy that can buy the china and kill Jayson.

- If that’s it for Sam and Maeve it’s a little anti-climatic, but certainly the most reasonable ending for their characters.

- What I like most about Ingelsby’s take on Heat is that Robbie is at best a C+ level criminal and Tom should be riding a desk. This isn’t De Niro and Pacino doing the super criminal vs super cop thing. The car scene was the perfect scene to bring them together.

they didn't show the robbie and freddy meeting (besides them sitting down). that was intentional. all we heard is that freddy demanded "double" what the original deal was supposed to be.

also you don't need to spoil your responses on a non-netflix show/episode that's already aired. if you come in this thread after an episode has aired, you deserve what you get.

Maybe Robbie told Freddy about the Dark Hearts killing his brother and Cliff and it touched a nerve. There’s a reason they showcased his new teeth monologue earlier in the season.

i think it's entirely possible. i think robbie still has unsettled business with the dark hearts and it doesn't much matter if he's alive or dead to see them suffer.

The show has been pretty straight forward so far but this may be the time they finally throw a twist at us.  Her "we have a problem" phone call right after ruffalo left could have as easily been to her contact in the state police about trying to hunt down the mole.

Look at this guy.

I thought Eryn was going to come up from the water with a big rock and brain Perry.  I feel like she could have gotten the drop on that feeble old man.
