So, just out of curiosity, I had our Ai Overlords check the total buy outs for 12 schools whose head coaches were fired or  otherwise no longer with their team: UCLA, Oregon State, Meatchicken, Meatchicken State, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Florida, Albarn, Kentucky, Oglaucoma State, Arkansas, LSU ... the number came to approximately 1/4 of ONE BILLION DOLLARS.

That's right ... about $250 MILLION!

Ah yes... higher education. Let's pay that amount for incompetence or corruption.

He’s going to get lots of calls.

Speaking of Michigan…

Lots of smoke about Dillingham going to Michigan.

Today is absolutely beautiful here in Phoenix.  I'm not sure you could convince anyone to move to Michigan from Arizona in December.

But money....

But, good football teams advance the university's academic mission!

Yep, watching both Meatchicken and PedoState completely melt down has made for a very satisfying week.

Nah, theyll extend dillingham at asu and make him a top 10 highest paid coach

What happens when number 10 falls off because somebody moved up in pay, do they contract language that keeps them in the top 10…….. is it a never ending cycle or infinity loop?  🤣

The folks at SunDevil Source are not great at geography.  Lansing is almost 70 miles from Ann Arbor.  They'd be better off flying into Ann Arbor or even DTW.

His show cause expires tomorrow.  Anyone tracking flights from LA to Michigan yet?

Minter was the Michigan DC 2022-2023 and is 1-0 as head coach, as he coached game 1 of the 2023 season while Harbaugh served his 3-game suspension.

Minter is a safe choice.  Seems competent and would know where the bodies are buried - and, therefore, know *not* where to dig.

Yes, by all means, let's hire another "Michigan Man" who was part of the Harbaugh machine.

Minter being on the list indicates the university administration is not quite ready for the colonic necessary for proper AD cleansing.  My "safe choice" was somewhat tongue in cheek.  And it indicates UM believes this might be the tip of the iceberg.

SSSSHH!  Don't ruin this for us, South.

Minter not their first choice, but best available option this late after whiffing on DeBoer and Dillingham. Kiffin and Matt Campbell spoken for and the good G5 names like Sumrall and Chesney already off the board.

Sh1t, it was warm for the '97 Fiesta Bowl.  I like the underground bars, tho.

Enis went bananas in the 2nd half.

No you’re right. It’s a university-wide culture problem that only a “Michigan man” can do the job. Someone has to be the voice in the room willing to speak up and say that being a Michigan man hasn’t worked out long term, usually due to scandal or incompetence. All stemming from losing their basketball coach to ASU 3 decades ago

And the AD is a Michigan man, so unless he goes, the mythology will remain part of the hiring process.

has Bob Stoops' phone been ringing during all of this chaos?

He last coached in 2017 and has never coached in the portal or NIL era. Not sure why he’d be a phone call? It’s an entirely different era than when he stepped away

It would feel like Penn st insisting on only hiring a paterno guy or Baylor hiring Briles assistants. The toxicity isn't going away until you clean house.

Nobody coached in the portal or NIL era...until they did.    He was a top-10 coach, a first-ballot hall of famer.   He could be successful today.

I just noticed that Stan Drayton hooked up with South Carolina.
A few on the board wanted Sark to bring him back for our brief RB coach opening.

"Beamer hired TCU offensive coordinator Kendal Briles earlier this week, as well as offensive line coach Randy Clements (TCU) and assistant head coach and running backs coach Stan Drayton (Penn State)."

good hire for them, im surprised he went there as Beamer seems like he's on the hot seat. Makes me wonder if he didn't get along with Sark or vice versa

The Briles hire is an interesting move by Beamer.

Sellers is a dual threat (one could argue about his consistent ability to throw the ball) with some skills similar to KJ Jefferson.

I understand your comment about Drayton, merely added the Briles comment because he is going from a situation where the HC is catching heat to a situation where the HC is on a watch list.

I’ve heard what collective aggy groupthink sounds like, and I just did again reading that

I want to say well-done, but I’m worried about you friend. That sounds way way too accurate as the speaking of someone who may have gone in deep cover with aggy and got lost in the role.

Lots of ND people didn’t like the way Elko left ND.  They might consider him but I’d doubt it.

Clark Lea would probably be in the discussion at ND but I don’t know his contract situation or buyout.
