Who gives a shit?  Why are we discussing Nicole's credibility?  At least six other posters chipped in about the same exact rumors before she chipped in and said that is what I heard.

We will not be laughing about his coaching ability after watching our game, unfortunately.

I mean, I laughed at his clock management for the entire 4th quarter.

and that unfortunately is the problem with us. who had heard of Tressell at the IA Level when OSU got him. or Stoops when we were looking for proven head coaches.  and dont even get me started on the consulting firm we hired to conduct a search. until we get a President/Chancellor to say hey BMDs we will get you all the coaches 3-4 times a year. you can have all the photo opps, but all comms to the coaches go thru some intern at the AD, it wont fix it.

I'm sure NFL GMs saw that 8 first down, 179 yard masterpiece and thought, yup that's exactly what we're looking for.

Let’s be honest guys, a lot of the current/former NFL coaches seem to do that on a regular basis with a lot better talent.

So what if Sark sees UT merely as a stepping stone back to the NFL?

Some People honestly thought his plan was to stay here the next decade plus like Mack? Some People are ready to build a statue of him in front of the stadium bc of two good seasons?

even though he absolutely and unequivocally fucked around and found out the entire offseason since January 2025? With our money? And in the process of FAFO put our QB development in the crapper and added more complications to said QB development because of a shit O-Line that Sark did nothing in the offseason to address?

And some people are mad bc the press got scoop that Sark may want to go to the NFL soon and reported what they heard? But they ain’t mad at Sark? Nah.

His wanting to go to the NFL is actually a far this more favorable explanation for his absolute asswater dogshit approach to this season than it being about his hoe of a wife running an Amtrak on our players and his maybe relapsing and skipping out on the entire offseason bc of that?

but some people ain’t mad at Sark at that? They be mad at reporters for having the audacity to insinuate Sark never was going to retire here? Makes total sense. I guess it’s funny because some have such loyalty to a dude who has none for them. It’s a business to Sark. Period.

I want us to take the next step, i want to be OSU with better academics not waiting for Vince's son(he is a private school kid so take it what its worth)  to come here for the next chance at a natty. if he has moved on so be it. coaching searches are like dating, are you getting a keeper, a drama or a ons.  I remember when herman was a cant miss and then he got fired from fau. I hated reds comments about charlie and completely felt it was old school southern money  doing his thing, then he washes out of usf. so what do I know.  if Sark is willing to fix things then he should get another year or two. but if he is already dating the nfl, then let him get out. we cant let the fear of the next date being a psycho make us hang around someone who doesnt want to be here anymore. &M

we are fans and alums, for players (especially with nil) and coaches its just a job. can you imagine if Simms or Applewhite had transferred to OU//A&M like Niblack and Thompson did. I would have set DKR on fire.

Nice hot take.  Shows you’ve never been apart of a football locker room.  Sark might be headed for the NFL and I think it’s a fair criticism to say he didn’t do enough to fix the oline issues in the offseason. I personally don’t understand how you can let that happen in the NIL/portal era. But to insinuate that his whole time here has just been a stepping stone or ploy to get him somewhere else is baseless speculation at best.  Clearly you don’t remember the state of the program before he got here. He’s earned the right to fix the issues. To say it’s just a business to a coach like that doesn’t hold water. He’s put an incredible amount of time and effort into transforming the culture of the program.  You don’t get that from just using the team as a stepping stone.

Didn’t we all know Herman was getting fired?  The wheels were off and he was a moron, we all knew it was coming just not the exact day. That’s was my thinking atleast.

Hmm that's crazy. Truth is, that's almost exactly my net-worth too. Don't take this the wrong way, but go fuck yourself for telling this board what we spoke about earlier. No offense, but between this and the new TEMU jet boat affliction you've thrust upon me, you're the fucking devil. Honestly, I think I'll just buy you a TEMU boat as a going away present for our now ended friendship.

Goodbye and good luck!

Yep. I just knew the exact day and posted it here the night before. I’m not looking for props. Even the sports media knew he was a goner. Most just  didn’t know all the off the field reasons why we kicked his ass to the curb. And many still don’t care bc they didn’t think he deserved to be fired. But look at where he is now.

Sort of? That whole situation was weird. We knew we were back channeling with Meyer but when that failed it became a much bigger debate over whether Herman would get another year. There weren't really any obvious candidates out there which was certainly part of it. Then you had Casey Thompson look like a god in the bowl game and it would have given CDC all the justification he needed to actually give Herman a final season.

Those more in touch with what was happening behind closed doors all knew that the situation was not salvageable and that half our roster was seriously going to quit on the team and leave if Herman had been kept. That wasn't known as much publicly, even on boards like Surly, until after Herman was let go though.

TLDR It went from "Herman is definitely gone" -> "Herman is maybe gone..?" -> "Well Thompson does look really good so maybe another year?" -> RIP Herman

I’m just saying that his perhaps wanting to go pro and leave Texas is a much easier explanation to swallow for why his entire approach to this season has sucked rather than all of the crazy shit being said about his personal life. I’d prefer that be the explanation. Not the personal crap.

Jim Tressel won four national championships at Youngstown St. before he was hired by Ohio State. Bob Stoops was the DC for Florida's 1996 national championship team.

Bob Chesney won the Patriot League a lot.

Hey Michael what if hear me out…that other people have been talking and knew about Sark’s personal shit that has nothing at all to do with my BmD. My BMD just knew that loser Herman would be fired before he was in fact fired and the press even knew. Most people have known about Sark’s personal shit in some form or fashion for over a year and most knew about his 30 day absence from 2025 and now that he has made such a mess of the offseason that it affected our games and the fact that the Athletic came out with this article do people NOW feel comfortable saying what they know. My source ain’t CTJ’s source but you ain’t jumping up his ass.

my BMD didn’t tell me any of the PERSONAL sark shit he really doesn’t care if Sark blows goats for fun.

I explained that a have a close friend who knows both sark and his wife well and knew his wife well before Sark left his first wife for Loreal. in my opinion, how you get someone is how you lose them.

Multiple people knew about his personal shit for a long time and didn’t say nothing and were discouraged from saying things bc most of the chiclet brains here think sark is an untouchable god.

Neither my friend nor my BMD are the reason sark’s personal shit is all over fucking Reddit. It’s all over the fucking internet bc sark is messy. People know bc his wife is messy. If you keep your shit in house people won’t know about your shit and a lot of people around his wife aren’t just so honored just to be her pal they would keep her secrets. Particularly when our coach has acted like his head has been up his ass since January of 2025.

So Take it up with Sark. Or Loreal. Or a host of people on the internet who were shouting a lot of this shit from the rooftops well before we lost to Ohio State to start this season.

Many of you repeatedly pick on me cuz I have a pussy rather than picking on guys who act like pussies. Go figure.

along with a full denial - no interest - no conversations have taken place

Sark thought he could coast into the CFP with a shitty Arch Manning and a busted ass O-line. And then parlay that into an NFL HC job. 🤣🤣🤣

I think he thought the schedule had two coin flips and he was a double digit favorite in every game.  He has a near unlimited nil fund. 🤷‍♂️

Disagree on unlimited NIL. We got outbid by Texas Tech for that DE David Bailey for example. Also let Nebraska buy the TCU DE transfer two years ago. And couldn't even bother to go head to head with Oregon for that OT.

Ohhhhhh, you're under the impression that Steve Sarkisian isn't interested in coaching in the NFL.

Now it makes sense.

no, i'm under the impression that he is

So is he going or not?

Listening to his rant yesterday I don’t remember him saying he wasn’t interested.   He was just pissed it was reported

I think he wants to go. Wants a new beginning.  Wants to leave the “cesspool.”   NFL has contracts, isn’t a year round job like college.   Sark may want to be arojnd family more especially with a new kid.

imo this job was a bit more than he expected and a bit more than he can handle, both professionally and personally.

but who would actually hire this guy?  I’m gonna break a couple of hearts in here but his coaching record isn’t exactly stellar and he had a substance abuse issue.

my best guess is his contract has a morality clause and he’s skating on thin ice.  His camp either released the info in hopes that cdc would be scared into action or other teams would come calling.

his back may be against the wall here

sexton holds all the cards but if your client isn’t wanted it doesn’t matter how powerful you are

CTJ wrote he thinks the source is Jerrah and that's as good a guess as any. In fact, I'd say it seems very likely. For several reasons, the source was almost certainly an NFL owner or someone in their close circle. We can also surmise it's definitely not Sexton nor a bmd for the simple reason it's in none of their interests to leak that info about Sark at this point in the season. The reporter who got the quote about Sark also wasn't around a bmd nor Sexton last week, however she was at the NFL owner's meeting.

The original NYT report is by now pretty well buried on The Athletic site but it was written by a reporter whose job is to cover the NFL. She covered last week's NFL owner's meetings and that's where someone apparently gossiped to her about Sark looking for an NFL job. Jerrah is well-known to be a big gossip. The line about Sark is but one sentence at the end of a longish article - maybe 1000 words, all about the NFL except for the Sark mention.

The reporter dropped the "I'm told..." about Sark in the context of discussing what certain NFL owners are saying about their own teams and the league. The use of "I'm told" means she had but a single source. If she had more than one source, she and her editor would have printed that. Her article not only quotes Jerrah extensively about NFL matters, the reporter also wrote about him very favorably - some would say even fawningly.

The rule of thumb when there is an unnamed source is that you can almost always find them quoted elsewhere in the article and that person will be treated favorably within the article. And then you have to analyze who would be motivated to make the statement AND ask for non-attribution. The rule of thumb applies to the Cowboys owner on all counts.

He's not going to fire the best agent in the business. That would be silly.
