Why are you like this? Of course we are not in you are completely ignoring the automatic bids. Texas needed #12 with Bama and BYU ahead and even then it was unlikely. We are 13 this is the committee telling UT it is out for good.

I think the SEC would throw weight and bitch if they were gonna lose their 5th team. That's why I say that. But again, this is an insane hypothetical. So I dont think it's really worth discussing in depth.

So, as our last remaining shot (as slight as it is), it seems like we need to root for blowouts in the major championships.

  1. Ohio State blows out Indiana to make our close loss look even better. Indiana drops somewhere in the 5-8 range.
  2. Tech crushes BYU again. BYU drops behind us and Miami. That puts Miami and Notre Dame next to each other in the rankings, and then the committee flips them based upon the head-to-head.
  3. Georgia destroys Alabama in a game that is never really competitive. Alabama drops behind Miami and Notre Dame.
  4. That puts us, Alabama, and Notre Dame all together.  Play against common opponents is a stated criterion of the committee. Alabama lost to OU (and Georgia in this scenario). Notre Dame lost to A&M. We beat both of those teams by double digits. The committee could use that to justify us jumping both of them. That would put Miami at 9, Texas at 10, Notre Dame/Alabama at 11 and 12.

What happens in the ACC doesn't really matter. Maybe I guess Duke winning it could adversely affect Miami.

Reality is we are out. But if you want to see a path, that appears to be it to me.

LOL, no. The fuck? Kirby is a fucking sociopath, he doesn't give a flying fuck about anybody but himself, and he fucking hates Bama, regardless of who is the coach. He doesn't give a shit about us the moment the clock hits zero. Why would he? We just got to the SEC, and he's bodied us 3 times, why would he fucking care if we make it? He knows if he plays us again he (in his mind) and Bobo will continue to make Sark look like a middle school coordinator. Beating Bama is all that motherfucker cares about. He's lost to Bama something like 8/10 or whatever the ridiculous stat is.

You put our importance too high for anyone to really give a shit about us outside of aggy, ou, and Arky. We are literally in year two in the conference.

100%.

We were just shy of a 6-6 season when you consider we were the beneficiary of a 3 4th quarter miracles in our favor. 2 collapses by inferior opponents on the road and 1 epic collapse by us that only fizzled out because we fumbled the onside kick out of bounds.

I disagree with the idea of you are what your record says you are. We are lucky to be be 9-3. Let’s use this as a building block, play a meaningless practice game in warm weather, and get some reps for the young guys we want to keep them hit the portal like there’s no tomorrow.

This is exactly how people who don't watch games think.  They don't see a 2 point conversion that never crossed the goal line.  Or the manufactured penalties and ignored penalties to close the gap while stymieing the other offense.  They don't see the aggy line holding in the endzone to avoid a safety.  They don't see the WRs getting yanked and jerked around while no flag is thrown.   They don't see the guy tripping over the feet of another player that is called DPI.  They just lean into confirmation bias.

Kirby wants to destroy Bama. He has only beaten them once. He will not take his foot off the gas under any circumstance.

Teams win close/flukey games all the time. Stop discounting 9-3 bc we escaped with some wins. Almost every team has that. I guess aggy is actually 10-2 bc of South Carolina. Or OU is 9-3 because of LSU

We are what our record is

In or out, something needs to get fixed because Texas and the SEC is about to start devouring itself next year.  IMO, next year's schedule for TX is even more difficult. If you're going to drop 3-loss teams, the SEC might be down to 2 teams in next year.

We beat some pretty good teams this year. We can do it again. Unless you think everyone will improve and we’ll get worse. As fans we need to adjust and accept our sec schedule will be tough every year. Some tougher in certain years. We’ll be ok and win our fair share.

None of those teams have a chance to win a title.

There's no way we beat 4 top 15 teams in a row with this secondary and this OL and RB room. Vandy and Miami aren't doing it either.

It would be interesting just because it would give us at least one more meaningful game to watch.

That’s it guys, cancel the playoffs and just have Ohio State play Georgia because Hermanator doesn’t understand why we play the games.

I don't know if we make it in or not, I hope we do, but for those who are throwing in the towel when we still have next weekend's CCG, those will absolutely help us if the scores get out of hand. We are literally on the cusp because if something were to happen, we get next man up.

If we don't, use the time to get the young players time in a real game. You don't recruit top players and sit them like you're some bitch ass Mack Brown idiocy. They're recruited to, and hang with me here, play. They don't have to know the entire playbook. Look at what you finally did with Townsend. The same fucking thing we've been saying  and it works. Just use their superior genetics and skills to create mismatches. Fuck this RS shit and rotate if we start getting the dropsies. The defense has no issues playing guys like Lance Jackson, who's murdering QBs, and Justus Terry. Sarkisian needs to look at that Florida loss and remind himself we have very little leniency when it comes to losing with our OOC bs. Maybe this will be a blessing in disguise to motivate that motherfucker to throw out his shit and do better. Replace coaches who need to be replaced. Grow a fucking spine. He wasn't hired to lollygag and put a logo on his shirt and land top 5 classes just to have to pander to the CFP committee as to why a 3-loss Texas team should be in, rather than just beating the fuck out of teams and move on to the next game. Tear refs a new asshole to shit out of for obvious bullshit like Kirby. Learn from, and I know this may surprise you, NICK FUCKING SABAN! Grow the fuck up and don't waste Arch's last season.

Sounds easy but without the move our recruiting would have stayed good not elite. We would be in the playoff most years but unable to beat the elite teams without elite recruiting. At least that’s my opinion.

good stuff. unfortunately it is clear the committee doesn't consider entire resume or SOS or SOR or wins .  If someone asked that dumbass from Arkansas what about Texas close loss to Ohio State he'd a) point to Florida and b) say that was early in the season.  Which would be funny because that would be our entire point but he so fucking dumb I can guarantee he would say it.  our close wins get scrutinized but our close losses are just normal losses/bad losses to these guys.

anyway, don't lose 3 games and set your schedule to your advantage and beat every team by as much as possible no matter who they are.  it is obvious a SOS in the 40's means absolutely ZERO to the committee.  our SOS will never be in the 40's.

As an aside, The rivalry game thing cracks me up.  the dumbass Arkansas AD actually used it for Alabama who barely beat(with ref help) a 5-7 rival. And of course avoided it when it is Texas crushing rivals by 10+ including 2 rivals who are playoff teams and his own fucking shitty ass football team.

The whole thing is ridiculous.  cancel the OOC blue bloods, schedule a mid or lower P4 and get ready for conf games.  christ we can spend time game planning to beat our conf teams instead of game planning a ton for a first game of the season with a blueblood.

We were always leaving the Big 12. It was just a matter of when and what conference we were going to. The Big 12 would keep trying to dilute it with terrible additions and we were done with most of the other teams. And apparently, we do need the money.

nah, we just need to go 7-2 in SEC(which we can do no problem) and not lose OOC games.

Great so we could be the only program in history with 30 penalties per game and 0 opponent penalties in a season.

when you’ve created a system that makes fans of programs like Texas and Alabama say, “in august/september we’d rather watch our team play sam houston state or arkansas state than ohio state or michigan”, you’ve created a shitty system.

I concur that we need to ride Miami up the rankings but they likely stay put if UVA wins the ACC. The committee wont leave the ACC out with 10-2 Miami sitting there while 2 G5s come in in last minute. UVA winning with the h2h vs miami likely lets them justify more space between ND and Miami.

To add to the original plan add in Marcus Freeman and or Deboer leaving and I think this plan goes way up.
