I'm not saying be assholes and surly, but there is no evidence they are even mad about this or upset.

Arch looks like the only player crestfallen about the whole thing.

I'm thinking Sark really drilled it into their heads that 9-3 gets them in.

You need to realize, fans take these losses harder than the players. I see this same discussion in all sports. Especially now that these players are getting paid a hefty sum to play (they always have been, just now legal). Money makes you get over losses much quicker.

Fans take wins and losses much more seriously than most players.

I get what you are saying, but you don't typically see this after a result like this with the stakes what they are. I've seen some other teams that have had high expectations and disappointing losses this season, and I can't recall a time when a good number of the players were immediately on the field, smiling, taking pics and throwing peace signs and dapping opposing players and staff.

These guys all know each other. They act like it.

Maybe the players have an understanding that the team kinda sucks this year.

If we had lost a nail-biter, then maybe that would be the case. However, I think losing by 25 effectively knocks us out.

NFL players do jersey swap pics after games. Welcome to corporate

Bet you won't find photos of Georgia players chumming it up with Bama on the field after losing.

Yep. Couple that with losing to dogshit Florida, we are done. Not to mention, no idea if we even beat Arky or aggy at this point.

Vince HATED to lose.  We do not currently hate to lose.  We are a pussy program.  If these guys have any guts at all then they will annihilate the next two teams.  They don’t and they won’t.  Texas is full of pussy mediocrity.

Seems like work. Is there one of the Texas players or we just crying over nothing

Youre right actually. Bourbon catching up to me. It's basically shaking hands and saying good game with people you know.

It's the opposite behavior that is embarrasing, like what OSU did last year after Michigan.

Now back to focusing my ire on Sark

I blame the fans.

There are plenty of shots of college and NFL players crying on the sidelines after a critical or big loss. Tons.

Winners get upset when they lose.

Always.

When its an important game, moreso.

When they get blown out in a critical game absolutely.

To claim otherwise and to blow off players behaving as if they dont give a shit tells me a lot about those players and the people excusing the behavior.

Its the new age of FU PayMe college athlete. They are no longer amateurs, and they think differently about shit. Its just a different sport than I was on campus. Gardere was probably getting paid in pitchers.

Can't speak on all this (different era) but Mike "magic" Davis did this in 2010 after the ISU and ou loss. I was dumbfounded. To their credit, Jaxon Shipley and Quandre were the exact opposite.

Was at bama, then texas now a&m. They are 1099 contractors. Can u imagine something like that 6-7 years ago. It's a job to them.

We alums and other fans are emotionally vested in the team and university. With this being the nfl minors now, sooner they get to Austin team sponsored by university of texas, the better

Speaking of different eras, “Show me a good loser and I’ll show you a loser.” That was Lombardi, I believe. What we are seeing now is the evolution of Sport in real time, with all things being recorded and published at all times. Tonight ABC didn’t even show whether KDB shook hands with Jawbone With A Cap after our game.  Methhead looking Motherfucker.

Question relating to the above:  how hard has Kirby hit the portal?

We act like the portal and NIL are the solution to all recruiting ills.  I think it's more like catching lightning in a bottle than a systematic solution for recruiting.

Ranking-wise, Sark has recruited better than any coach at Texas since early-mid Mack Brown.  Ranking doesn't tell the whole tale, though, obviously.

He's also gotten some gems out of the portal.

Kirby/UGa has a recruiting machine with long-term success going back 10 years now (and I think Richt was going pretty well there too), just like Saban's Alabama and tOSU.

Hell, a couple of our best portal players came from Alabama and Georgia.  That might tell you something.
