Stop it, Texas will mud hole Arkansas on the back of Archibald, formerly knows as knoblauch now known as Mr completion percentage, Manning. Take a shot of something strong and believe.

I have a bad feeling about this one guys. The headspace is bad.

Is not the headspace it’s the secondary that’s bad!

and we’re going against a Joe P offense who loves to throw it

yea not feeling good, hopefully the offense brings enough points

Have you seen that Piggy defense?

Or should I say the lack of it. I think Notre Dame could have put 100 points up if they had wanted to.

If our team is checked out, it doesn’t matter how bad they are we will lose this game

Bama was in year one after losing the greatest CFB coach of all time. We’re in year 5 of a guy that should have never been offered the job.

What I'm telling you with current and future parity people need to understand good teams losing 3 games is going to be the norm.  The playoff will be expanded to account for that.   Saban got out when he did for a reason.  Again, I don't really even qualify this Texas team as 'good'.  Certainly not complete.

That's a big IF. Being checked out because Georgia is whipping your ass is one thing. It's a lot different when you're playing at home and people are cheering you on. I don't buy they are checked out but I get that we're all seeing what we want to see right now because we're angry.

This team is mentally soft and entitled. But thankfully Sark is going easy on the guys so they can be soft, entitled, and HEALTHY come January when they’re watching the CFB playoffs from home.

I wanna see what the injury report looks like and monitor the media noise around Sark before making a full prediction, but right now I'm leaning towards us taking care of business against Arkansas. We are a different team at home.

If Texas loses at home to this Arkansas team that has gotten MSU out of the SEC basement, then they Sark should be on a very hot seat.

It's up to the coaching staff to see this doesn't happen.

I don't think I have it in me, or enough time left, for another UT coaching search and rebuild, especially since we usually fuck them up.

The fuck are you talking about coach search.  At 6:59 Saturday night we're top 10 in the nation with a chance to be top 5, what else do you want at this point in the season.   We got beat by a better team going away.  Im not happy about it but stringing Sark up after back to back F4, the fuck outta here with that shit.  The portal and Texas $ this thing turns on a dime one year to the next. Guy thought we had it, he missed it with the OL and he isnt one dropping passes literally thrown perfectly.  Sark isnt going anywhere unless he chooses.

Now IF he were to leave for the NFL, we'll know in 3 -4 weeks and we name our coach, Kiffin, Riley , Franklin, are at least lateral and some would say upgrades in certain areas.  Check yourself, its not as bad as it seems.

So the schedule is pretty favorable into getting us to that ranking - Texas was not a top 10 team in the nation and got blown the fuck out by Georgia.

Understood, but the ones that matter (ie the committee) thought enough of our body of work to put us there despite that.  We're in that game save the offsides and we will never know what could have been, point is we got blown out in the 4th and at least had a chance before the offsides.  You dont fire Sark over it, that's fools game.  Let the man reorganize and retool.

8 loss Arkansas definitely won’t also be checked out. Just us.

But you see they hate us so much, these young kids who have no real history of the Texas-Arkansas rivalry from the Southwest Conference days.

I mean the game never felt particularly close, I'm not sure what game you were watching. They got blown out the whole fucking game and couldn't convert when it mattered. Texas is a team that had to dig itself out of a lot of holes that it had previously dug itself into. The committee was rewarding a brand and a record. Seriously, there's a real chance that arkansas comes in and blows them out at DKR, that's the reality we are living in.

When I went to fayettenam last time it was real. This is generational hate for them. I don't think they think it's just some game, it's definitely serious for them. Bobby Petrino and this team are definitely going to try to ruin Arch Manning's season and get one over on big bad texas at home.

It was a 4 point game when Arch threw the TD to Wingo in the 3rd. Then the defense folded and they got the onside and then it was over.

For their fans, sure. The players only care about beating Texas because they need a win and any win will do. When Texas rolls into your stadium, sure you want to beat them because we're the ultimate villain and way to validate your program.

Have you looked at q3? UGA 3 and out....next drive UGA Intercepted by Hill and then we get to their 3rd possession and the  fateful 4th and 5.  We shut them down coming out of half and were down 4 getting the ball back.  Wheels came off in q4.

and couldn't convert when it mattered.

Because we dropped the ball 4-5 times when Arch put it on the money.  That is not on Sark.  Moore , the TE, Wingo needs to make the play on the deep ball and needs to not trip over grass.  Sark has dialed it up all year and he doesnt deserve to be fired which is what a poster upthread eluded to.

You get dramatic after a bad loss just like most of this board.   Texas is still a top 15 team.    Just about everyone in the 10-25 range would have 3 L's and most 4 or 5 playing our schedule.  We've played a grand total of 1 power 4 game at home, 1 neutral and 5 on the road.  We are still a 1-2 loss team if we played the OSU, Indiana, Aggy or Oregon schedule.   Again, people are looking through the lens of expecting Texas to be a top 3 team and win a championship. That's obviously not what this team is.  But if you think there are a ton of teams that would be 8-2 right now with our schedule that is just wrong.

In a way, losing to Florida was actually impressive.  So far, only 3 teams in the country have managed that feat.

So if we pull something similar against Arkansas, we'll really be in rarefied air.

It is an astounding loss. Just a perfect storm of WTF in that game.

This.  Has nobody on this board ever seen massive momentum shifts in football before?  UGA was better than us but we stop one of those first 2 4th down conversions and it likely ends up a one score game.  Hell, we stop the first one we may have scored and grabbed the momentum and pulled it off.   Just look at the damn Aggy game to see crazy momentum swings within a game.   That onside kick was an absolute knockout blow and a brilliant call by Kirby.

I don’t disagree with some of what you are saying. Many people today though have been talking about Sark bc of Desmond Howard’s insta post and what other former players have tweeted. Sark said he had other concerns in his post game press but didn’t elaborate. There has been smoke since he jettisoned the spring game, missed Junior day prior to that and decided to employ practices that have been proven not to work nor help coaches evaluate talent. If he were solely the OC I don’t think he would get fired bc we would have a HC that would hopefully be on top of the other things Sark hasn’t been by virtue of having dual roles which has also proven to be problematic. If he decides to leave we cannot stop him and if he is fired it’s not solely for the Georgia game. Everyone in the sports media is putting the onus of the perceived failure of this season on him and saying he needs to make major changes. If the Powers That Be fire him and don’t allow him to make those changes or any changes I would surmise he is being fired for collective nonperformance across the off season and season and there is more to it as well behind the scenes, Jmo.

we shut them out for 2 quarters. the game was a 4 point game with 2 chances to get the ball back.  It was a game for 3 quarters and then we folded in all 3 phases.  the score is the score so it was a blowout but the game was close for 3 quarters.    They were better prepared and coached and it showed in the 4th.

Update on LB Anthony Hill Jr.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian spoke on linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. and his status following a report earlier Monday morning that Hill suffered a broken bone in his hand during the loss to Georgia.

"With both (Anthony Hill Jr.) and Ryan (Wingo), we're just we're making sure that they're going to be okay," Sarkisian said. "I'm not ready to make that diagnosis on where they're going to be yet, but I feel optimistic."

Hill recorded an interception in the loss to Georgia and played 62 of the 66 possible snaps against the Bulldogs.

The SEC injury report will release Wednesday evening ahead of the Arkansas meeting on Saturday.

Fair enough.  I didnt  Howard's post.  Ill look for it.  I do agree his overall leadership as per the items mentioned is leaving a lot to be desired.
