This may be the greatest scene in cinema history. It's almost a dance.

So goddamn great. MILLERS CROSSING is criminally underrated in the Coen Brothers' catalogue.

^^^ Brilliant film, with some of the greatest Coen dialogue.

"Take your flunky and dangle."

Sounds like I have an upcoming excuse to watch that and Big Fish with a glass of whisky in a dusty room.

Yes, I think it is their best film, and I'm a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of Lebowski, Fargo and others.   But Miller's Crossing invented a whole new language, new words that you've never heard before but that you instinctively knew what they meant.

“What’s the rumpus?”

Or:

Verna: That's not why you came, either.
Tom: Tell me why I came.
Verna: [seductively] The oldest reason there is.
Tom: There are friendlier places to drink.

And:

Verna: What you doing?
Tom: Walking...
Verna: Don't let on any more than you have to.
Tom: ...in the rain.

"giving me the high hat,"  "the schmatta,"  "the sheeny," "square gee," "like a twist,"  etc...
