My doctor hat? Not even close - anyone growing like Wemby is at that age is MUCH more susceptible to injury. That’s not normal and in the rare instances you see it, yeah, the vast majority of times you start to see chronic issues. Maybe it was BS rumors but several sources said he grew 2-3 inches in the last year or so. That’s absolutely insane at his age and prior height.

A market inefficiency for the portal and recruiting has been that many schools are treating RB like they're an NFL org, yet the issues at RB aren't the same between CFB and the NFL. Who gives a shit if a guy can only take so many bullets? That's an NFL problem. Is that being addressed now by schools starting to go really big on RBs? Seems likely. Only so many schools can commit major money to QB, RB, WR, depth, and retention. The main market inefficiency exploitable at the moment is just having one of the biggest chip stacks. Corporate NIL is the other, I guess. This helps Texas at QB, where the corporate NIL side is pretty substantial. If Texas lands Lacy or Baugh, to go with Cooper and retaining Wisner (we'll see on Wisner), they're flaunting their largesse for this cycle. That could be a $2M+ room. No, "we" don't think that's true because of anything $9.95ers are saying. I think it's true because it has been fucking true. Handwringing over two positions that are being handled in both recruiting and the portal to address personnel mistakes and then decrying that as an example of retention issues is bizarre. "We" should be concerned about the mistakes that got Texas to the spot of being thin at LB in the first place, not blaming retention now. It's a byproduct of the stupidity of taking just 1-2 LBs in every cycle. At RB, I'm still somewhat fascinated that some posters here continue to worry over it. They'll have 5-7 guys in the RB room and multiple guys in the room will be high impact players for the 2026 season.

You'll never believe this but she worked for a tech company (Strava) until this week. Yes, past tense.

Yes, we know as you've made mention of it in nearly every basketball thread since the hire was made. But, my question is what does constantly complaining about it do? Nobody on this forum had any pull with CDC when it came to the hire. I mean, the only thing people on this website can do is not go to the games. That would get CDC’s attention. It’s also year 1 and his recruiting is looking pretty decent. There are times when I watch the team that I think we play fundamental basketball, and that is laying the foundation for what Miller wants to do. We will see, just like with any other coach, if that really comes to fruition. As I’ve said before, this fanbase had the chance to torpedo the hire and didn’t do it or didn’t care to do it. So I’m just not sure what complaining about Miller after every game will do when we already know your position?

10-3 vs 9-4 is meaningful to me for some stupid reason.

I see no mention of the nurse practitioner, so hard pass.

So, is the timeline: 12/17: Address the nation on national TV 12/18: War/Distraction Military action against Venezuela. 12/19: Epstein file release. Luckily, I'm visiting my MAGA parents over the weekend and MAGA in laws right after, so conversations should be light and fun. Ho! Ho! Ho! -
That's fantastic! They're looking past the canes already. Funny how Miami is only a 3.5 point dog at dogshit field.

San Antonio Spurs 2025-26 - Release the Kraken

I don't think Wemby underperformed. The Knicks exposed a weakness in his game, and it's something Mitch could have fixed by adding Kornet in the lineup. And more minutes for Keldon, our best offensive rebounder. -
Government Shutdown 2025: This Time It’s Personal

You're wrong. Jimbo will come back around. Because when it finally comes down to time to hit the ballot box, he'll find solace in the fact that the REAL reason he can't afford things and has no job is because of woke DEI and n-words getting free stuff and messicans stealing all them jobs and Haitans eating dogs and cats cooked by fucking trannies who ruined high school volleyball in some state he doesn't even know the name of. Hate works. It's the only thing that does these times. As for us? Get busy hating, or get busy losing. Those are your choices. -
I appreciate trying to defend Worthy's lack of effectiveness, but the bolded is an insanely terrible take. Mahomes led the league in deep pass touchdowns and deep pass efficiency, damn-near every year of his NFL career before the last two. The lack of a running game and a shitty offensive line caused that recent reduction. I agree that Worthy is a terrible fit for the Chiefs, and part of that is run scheme and o-line issues. You can't hit deep balls when you have to get rid of the ball in under 2 seconds. Worthy also has yet to develop a game beyond getting deep. He is too small and weak to provide any of the crucial aspects of the position (like blocking) that would add value to a team struggling with the Chiefs' issues. They would be smart to trade him for a more complete receiver if they don't think they can rebuild the o-line quickly, but Tyreek Hill damaged the brains of their front office. Worthy would add value to a team with a solid O-line and run game, where he can run deep every play to stretch the defense and catch a couple of passes per game. That's all he's suitable for, but it's highly valuable on the right team. Mahomes is a generational talent at the QB position, and anyone with eyeballs can see that. I appreciate some of you downplaying him because of where he went to college and because he's so active in supporting them even after going pro (and perhaps some because they don't like the Chiefs), but c'mon. Here's hoping he heals up quickly and thoroughly and goes on to put this kind of talk to rest for good. As noted already in this thread, he would benefit mightily from the Brady method of taking a pay cut to fill out the roster around him. But Brady needed that supporting cast more than Mahomes, as evidenced by Mahomes carrying a weak team on his back to the Super Bowl last year. Brady could never have done that.

They brush him off, prop him up and roll him out for the regardeds to vote him in…again.

TBH DeepComposer with AWS was a pretty good implementation of that idea - it converted a .midi file into a "piano roll" which is basically a visual format of a midi file, and they would apply custom transformer models to the piano roll to change the style. Stuff like "make this melody jazzy" or "add accompany parts to this song". I think it's been since deprecated, but it was a really interesting swing at the idea. And it was before LLM's were really a thing, but still using the Transformer architecture. The github is still up with Jupyter notebooks that explain the methodology though, both for setting up the GAN architecture to train a new producer, and for actually augmenting a song. https://github.com/aws-samples/aws-deepcomposer-samples/blob/master/ar-cnn/AutoRegressiveCNN.ipynb https://github.com/aws-samples/aws-deepcomposer-samples/blob/master/gan/GAN.ipynb I think this stuff is fascinating since it's blurring the line on input modality and communicating ideas between parties

Listen, man, my genuine hatred for [hang on a minute...checking notes...] Venezuela [wow, really?] goes back decades. They are our greatest adversary in Central America. [...whispering...] SOUTH America. Every time I hear someone speak in Venezuelan, my blood boils. [Oh. They speak Spanish? Since when? And nobody told me? Well, shit, it's too late now, just go with it.] Yes, they deserve to die, and I hope they burn in hell.

Any of y'all do Letterboxd? I've watched 114 movies so far this year (including rewatches). Latest one being LEE (2023) (on Hulu). About the wartime Vogue photographer Lee Miller (played by Kate Winslet and her tits). Good performance from Winslet, and other strong actors in the cast with not much to do: Marion Cotillard, Aleksander Skaarsgard, Josh O'Connor. Oh, and Andy Samberg. But the movie lacked any real tension or compelling drama. An interesting historical story, but pretty meh as a narrative film.
