Some of you are energy vampires just waiting for one of us to fall into your trap of tedious discussion. -

The "immigration policy" of black bagging people and denying them their habeas corpus and due process rights and shipping them off to some foreign prison to be beaten and starved is just the "natural pendulum swing" of a flawed political system. Inevitable really. Jesus fucking Christ. I hate the Nazi comparisons because they're played out and lazy...but damn if some of you all would have made for some excellent 1930s German citizens. "Oh, they're only taking the bad ones. Trust them." -

I'm sorry to hear your son is gay. Be kind and understanding to him, his people are persecuted by the ruling government at the moment. -

Most Quotable Comedies of the Last Decade
Hermanator replied to Lazarus Bocanegra's topic in Movies and TV
It's What We Do in the Shadows for both movie and TV series. The movie I think was 2014 so barely over a decade. My teen daughter and I say "well that's how we all speak in Tucson, Arizonia" every now and then. Then the LetterKenny show, but that's very Canadian specific and I'm more interested in short clips of gags than watching the whole show. Other than that the new Naked Gun kind of stands alone. I hope it makes a ton of money and starts a legit comedy movie revival. -
Yes! And it needs to be like when the did the scientologists with the text flashing "THIS IS WHAT THEY ACTUALLY BELIEVE!"

Apparently, there is some real buzz around Zuhn being moved to Center. Tarp offers his take, spoilered below. He does that whole write-up and fails to analyze the impact of having Crownover and Fatheree on the field at the same time. If they're rolling Fatheree out at RT, he's either been miraculously rejuvenated to the shining 18 YO recruit that he was, or he's about to set a record for sacks allowed at the P4 level. The idea of Reed having to throw more because Zuhn fucks up their running game at C is also extremely gruntling.

"Gurriel crushed a 103.9 mph fastball from Miller into the left-field seats for a two-run homer in the eighth inning, tying the score at 5-all. It was the hardest-hit pitch for a homer since MLB started pitch tracking in 2008."

Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In
Park Gothic replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
Oh thank God. I regret the part I've played in this Glen Powel tangent. Agreed about Shaw. That dude has a very Alfred Collins-esque career where the talent and physical attributes were obviously there, but he never really did anything with them. If Baker is unlocking that potential then we are in great shape at DT in light of how the other transfers + January are doing. Fucking Arkansas. Can their medical staff have really missed that dude needed surgery? That seems shockingly incompetent, even for the pigs. One thing Bobby mentioned last night that I didn't see in his practice report - Arch is staying late with a group to run the offense even after the coaches leave. That has real "If you want to beat Ohio State, meet me here every night at 7 p.m." energy. I know we've heard a lot about Arch during camp, but it doesn't seem like he's been the focus. Even when IT/OTF are talking about the QBs, they're mostly talking about the battle for QB2. I assume no news is good news, and I love hearing about Arch's leadership. Ewers was great, but he never struck me as a "lead from the front" kind of QB. I think Texas is better when the guy under center shows people the way. -

Sanchez has really improved his plate discipline this season. If he can get to be a 30 2B, 15-20 HR guy with around a .330 OBP, he's going to be really solid for us.

NoCa(rolina). Wegmans is good in comparison but goddamn it sucks

Lets never forget that Dusty Dvoracek once claimed a medical redshirt year for alcoholism, AFTER he was kicked off the team, for beating his best friend and roommate in the head with a baseball bat. Holy Shit, Hugh Freeze looks like hammered dogshit. No wonder that motherfucker was coaching from a Hospital bed, clearly he needed his scotch infused through an IV. This guy is transforming to George O'Leary before our very eyes.

Yeah we've hit blastfurnace mode - now the question is how long into September does it go?

Well Written Content OU Football 2025 - League Average & Loving It
Js1 replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
This reminds me of those “returning starts” metrics and it’s like, returning crap is still crap. -
As written either both players or the second one and almost certainly the manager specifically because it was multiple players. Note that it doesn't say they "may" be ejected, it says they shall be. Agreed that the West champion and Florida are better, but Lamar and Eastbank are essentially equal. Eastbank won 7-5 then Lamar won 5-2.

He had Sabonis in Sac, who is no slouch and garners plenty of attention from the defense. Sabonis is a top 20 player by most accounts, and yet Fox's shooting numbers have been bad to average at best for most of his career. That's not a great indicator for a guy who is 27. Some of that may be him trying to carry a mediocre team and shooting too much to overcompensate for the lack of talent and coaching around him though. However, it's tough to gauge how much better he can be in a system and organization that is considered to be top 5 versus bottom 5 in the league. I know the Spurs have taken guys like this and turned them into better shooters, fixing small things like elbow placement, release point, the way they jump and land, etc etc. The Spurs do that really well and tend to get the most out of their players, so maybe Fox will get a whole lot better. Betting on that growth isn't a bad idea, but if they are wrong it will be an expensive mistake. -
My personal interest level has dropped considerably the last couple of years due to nothing in particular. Maybe it's I'm getting old and the time zone differences for matches of significance are total shit. There's no set "popular season", but global interest usually picks up whenever one of the 10 million World Cups gets played or the Indian Premier League kicks off. Other big series that gain interest are things like The Ashes between England and Australia, India vs England tests, and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (India v Australia). Basically unless it has England, Australia or India in it; no one gives a shit.

Monday was certainly a welcome surprise. England had that thing in the bag at stumps on Sunday.
