Kinda forgot this thread. We went up to Lake Superior last month and I got 4 days of riding between Duluth, Bayfield WI, and Hayward WI. 3 days on the incredible Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Trails. Wet summer and a toddler have limited my riding. Heading up to northern MN over Labor Day for one last hurrah before harvest.

Sure but winning traditions can be established, and some of the programs with great winning traditions are situated in really shitty towns/in the middle of nowhere. Unless you think Norman, OK is some kind of destination.

Never knew this about him. Great character actor. Loved him in O Brother Where Art Thou, and many other roles.

Fun fact, Trudy's implemented the 2 Mexican Martini limit in part because of the rec sports crew rolling in there after intramural games and getting hammered. First it was two mexican martinis, and whatever else. So we'd order one when we got there, have a shit ton of frozens, then get a 2nd one as our last round. Then it quickly become "2 and you're cut off." Ooof. Good times, good times.

Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In
Shaddie replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
I know when I played high school my arm would deteriorate towards end of year. Main reasons. Usually pitched 1 once maybe 2 times a week. Starter so decent number innings. Besides the pitching lots of infield practice from shortstop and 3rd lots of throws to 1st. Most kids don’t know when to dial it back so lots of arm use during the year if only doing 1 sport. -
Texas Rangers 2025: Pitching has been fire. Bats not so much.

They pull the Tetas hat but roll this crap out there. Just ain't right. -
Trudy's used to do a $1 tequila floater night, Wednesdays I think. Even after they started counting your Mexican martinis, they never counted your double margaritas. It was not uncommon to roll out of there after downing 5 or 6 of them, with floaters. But only if my then-gf-now-wife was driving, of course. Lucky her...

They’d never do it, but Tour Champ should be something like top 30 make it, with top 8 getting byes. Remaining 22 play two rounds, top 8 advance. Then the final 16 play two rounds from scratch, winner takes all. That way someone like Scottie, with the season he’s had, will always be in the top 8 and get a bye, and you’d have guys trying to get into top 8 or top 30 too. Plus it would end with a true “playoff” type feel.

What the fuck is wrong with you, Houston? Non-CR thread
SydneyCarton replied to crash_davis's topic in Daily Texan
What a stupid statement. I live inside the loop, and it's just under 8 miles from my house to Daiken Park. It's a 20 minute drive in rush hour traffic. You're on a UT board, and you accuse everyone in Houston of living in Katy or The Woodlands...which is where the fucking aggies live, you dumb twat. Also, I'm married and have a kid. Who the fuck is driving 30 miles for entertainment period, on a regular basis? I've got about 20 amazing fucking restaurants within 3-5 miles of my house in the greater heights area. And it's maybe an extra 10 minutes to get to any of the amazing restaurants in the River Oaks, Galleria, Spring Branch, or Montrose areas. 15 extra minutes for Rice Village/West U/Museum district. That's every major entertainment district I can get to in about 20 minutes, tops, but about 3-4 of them I can get to in about 10 minutes. You don't know shit about Houston. Also, who gives a fuck if downtown is some kind of attraction or not? I don't give a shit where I go to get my fun. As another poster said, getting in and out fast and easy for sports is great. Other than that, do we get some merit badge that the Michelin Star restaurant is downtown as opposed to in Montrose? Is this like Texas A&M winning online poll for you or something? I've got to tell you, pal, you're clearly following the wrong people on social media. Sawyer Yards is still a thing. I have my office in here. It's still growing and expanding with more art space, some more restaurants, and other entertainment options nearby off Washington. -
The Leopards Eating Faces and Unlubed Dildo of Consequences Thread

Are you kidding? America voted for it. -
Batshit crazy 10-20% of the time was the other part of that. BTW. Flu shots started shipping last month. I know that some posters were really worried about that this year. Already in some pharmacies. Don't forget to get in early and get your shot before the season gets wound up.

I just got back and I was not a fan. I don't get the high praise it has gotten. I am SO tired of these stories being "can't sacrifice the one for the good of all". Yeah, you can. To be truly heroic, doesn't there need to be a sacrifice from you, either internal or external? Black Widow had it right. And then to go ahead and admit that to the world? No wonder everyone was so pissed at them. There would be riots to get to that tower and take that baby away. And then, Sue Storm makes a pretty lame speech and the whole world is like, "never mind, I love these people and will do EVERYTHING they say." Ridiculous and not in a "the world is on fire right now" kind of way, but that makes no sense in the best of times. But this is Earth 828, not our world! Shut up, nerd. Their big plan at the end was to basically mousetrap a galactic entity into walking to this one spot, after his herald destroyed the rest of the teleports? He would fall for that? And he almost did, which makes it even dumber. I did like Sue Storm using her Mom Strength to push him in at the end. I don't know why you cast two of the most beautiful and charismatic actors on Earth in Vanessa Kirby and Pedro Pascal and make them as bland as white paint on a wall. Silver Surfer was one of my favorite comic characters growing up and I liked her. She looked cool. I hope Natasha Lyonne got well paid for her 3 days on set.

Texas Football 2025 Fall Camp - Kicking the Sonofabitch In
closetojumping replied to closetojumping's topic in Football
The counts in Little League are strictly enforced these days. The same is true for select tournaments. I get the skipping back and forth, so if parents are idiots, I guess that's a factor. I know I don't let my kid pitch more than once a week unless the first appearance was minimal, but he's almost always a starter so that isn't often. -
That's great. I'm glad you bumped the thread, too. I was going to bump it last week to get it back on page 1. This thread was quite important in my decision to stop drinking and there are others that probably could use it.
