  1. Past hour
  2. Rec Center? Sounds like a socialist education center. We'll be pulling the funding for that anyway, so no big loss.
  3. Price of coffee, beef, fruits, vegetables all up significantly and we haven’t even felt the full effects of tariffs, or of immigration raids on farms. Jobs numbers went negative. Only one party is fucking household economics and it isn’t the Dems. But tell me more about winning your vote when you can’t even pay attention to anything beyond Republican talking points from the Clinton era
  4. Translation: The AlrightAlrightAlright Hook’em Fund is happening!
  5. If this was not already in the Surly lexicon, usable either as a compliment or mockery, it should be henceforth IMO.
  6. Yeah Nico's awesome for just not gaf and asking the questions everyone else wants to hear asked. Being a WDC with lifetime Paddock access probably helps in that regard. He's not worried about losing access. He's very quick on his feet and is able to subtly twist the knife or get straight to the meat of the subect when everyone else is dancing around it. He also brings a lot of good insights as a former driver that some of the other ex-drivers don't seem to want to talk about imho. Also, love Ant, Paul (too bad he's gone), & Bernie for just bringing fantastic technical and/or driving insights. Jenson's too nice to say anything remotely controversial about any of the drivers, and Martin is good if you can get past his sometimes blatant biases. Crofty is like that big, goofy yellow lab that runs all over the yard not knowing much but not really needing to know that much (as far I'm concerned). And maybe even that's being too harsh on him imho. He knows a fair amount, but imho probably tosses silly theories and speculation into the discussion just so they get discussed & often dismissed - not necessarily because he actually believes them. He's good at being the guy that holds everything together, imho (which is much more difficult than it looks), and for me, that's all he needs to be. That Harry Benjamin(?) guy seems to be being grooming for that spot, and he's pretty decent too imho. Karun is utterly freaking useless and hopelessly annoying, other than being a decent F1 historian. For analytical or current info purposes, he's a big, long-winded bowl of shit. IMHO Ted is great in the Paddock and pitlane, bringing a lot of good info from there in a usually entertaining way. Simon, Nat, & Naomi are good at the fluffy stuff& the three driver features per race weekend (2 on Lewis + 1 other Brit), so I'll allow them to stay. Karun and Crazy Danica can hit the bricks. /csb Other than the obvious and probably understandable Brit bias in the Sky coverage, I'm good with it. Gonna be interesting to see what we get if Apple gets US rights tho.
  7. The β€œcompletely wrong” part was this: We don’t need them to *support* trans rights. They just have to be tolerant enough of trans rights to accept it as part of the payload that gets them what they want. Despite being far more homophobic as a group than secular professional class whites, evangelical blacks, Hispanic Catholics, and blue collar whites chose to make common cause with them for decades in order to advance their own interests. It wasn’t until the Democrats largely abandoned an agenda centered on things that break around class and made special interest social issues (or in your words, β€œtelling them to support trans rights”) the center of the agenda that Democrats lost a durable multiracial middle class+working class majority coalition.
  8. What you did there, I seent it.
  9. I'm glad they do something really well because their steaks are disappointing.
  10. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/this-construction-project-was-time-budget-then-came-ice-2025-07-28/ Was going to make money and finish ahead of schedule, now overbudget and delayed. Any guesses how Mobile voted?
  11. It was already sold to private equity in like 2021.
  12. Yep, those damn things were scary as shit.
  13. Yeah at this point how the fuck don’t you take the gloves off? Still concerned with niceties. It’s nice being against the R’s but you have to counter with shit you’re actually FOR. Grossly lacking there.
  14. I don’t agree with much of the current admins immigration policy, most of all the masked thugs rounding up people with impunity. But a team being denied visas has happened before and will always happen. And OP seemed to think this was for the much more famous LLWS, but it’s not.
  15. *They’re so beaten down that they have to resort to being grammar Nazis in order to feel good about their program. It’s a tough spot. 16. It means "I swear." As in "I put that on God/my mamma/my granny/my dead baby." If someone says this to you, they are 100% lying. No question.
  17. The last time one had 18 guys on the injured list and didn’t know if/when any would be back, how healthy they would be when they came, how they would perform when they came back, had a farm system with little talent and had just gotten demolished in 4 games by a last place team. That time. And I thought Brown was an ace too. I don’t think trading Framber is a white flag. The Tigers traded Flaherty last year during pennant race and I believe they beat us in the playoffs. They got back their starting shortstop and a catcher in Baseball 100. All I’m saying is if the Dodgers or whoever offer you one of their top two outfield prospects and a pitcher for Framber then it’s at least worth considering. The unprecedented nature of this Astros season should leave anything possible, as crazy as it sounds.
  18. The men and women have top recruiting classes. Women probably the top class and men top 5. Something changed with NIL.
  19. Lol, I can't keep up with the deluge of interrogation. Anyway, as posted previously: Gotta get some things done, you all can keep debating ad nauseam the Democrat strategery for how to reprogram voters so they ignore their household economics and vote for the lesser of two evil social-issue candidates
  20. Her IMDB page - https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5167937/ Actress or "actress"?
  21. Well, the UFL still holds a draft, doesn’t it? A&M might be planning on dominating that league.
  22. Fuck whatever these things are from Labyrinth
  23. Shipley Do-Nuts acquired by Levine Leichtman Capital Partners
  24. Yup felt good up in NW Travis as well. Still no days at or above 100 at my house all year, and current forecast has nothing above 97 all the way through 8/11, and that includes some overnight lows in the low 70s. I call that a GD miracle!
