As an offshoot from the Chuck Mangione thread. Post your favorites, jazz, pop, rock, classical, whatever. Share any stories if you want. First up, always loved the break at 1:18 or so Nextt up, I mentioned this one in the Chuck thread. I remember, 1980, my mentor Willie Streider , he as a senior at Sealy when I was a freshman, took me under his wing, we drove up to Sam Houston in Huntsville for a district-all state tryouts clinic, driving through the pine trees on a rainy morning and he put this tape on. Blew me away, still does. Willie (Will as he goes by now) made all-state, went to UH and then became the long-time trumpet instructot at Texas Tech, retired a couple of years ago. Alan Parsons songs always had some killer french hor lines. Actually wanted to play french horn but when I started band (5th grade, do any bands start that early anymore?) in Hempstead, they didn't offer it, just cornet or trumpet. Wanted a cornet but trumpet was cheaper, and we were poor, so there you go. Another one with some great horn runs..

Pretty scary how skinny he has been looking. They turned an assistant loose on recruiting. I don't know his name, but he's done a pretty decent job, seemingly on his own. I think they have like 14 HS recruits, which is way better than they've done in the last two years.

Is anyone here a marine biologist?

Headed back to Fort Worth. Another one run scoring explosion last night. But even worse, for some fucking reason they let Mr Met into the park? What are we even doing.

RE: Georgia currently being at 30 commits. Their mods are saying there are blueshirts in the clsss. Who has an actual scholarship is a closely guarded state secret. Basically, they use NIL to cover the full cost of attending Georgia for the blueshirts. -
Annoying. I flipped back to the bike race right before the goal. went back to watch it. Spain is deadly.

Sorry for the derail, but I saw RSJ and I thought Ricky Seals-Jones. https://247sports.com/player/ricky-seals-jones-12471/high-school-17072/ What a recruiting class that was, and much of those guys did nothing. -
Dude in purple couldn't be bothered to put down his cigar and kept approaching the line of fire. I'm glad they stopped this guy, truly, but nuance matters. Maybe your cigar should be prioritized behind the ability to use your other hand when approaching at guy with a knife. It's one thing to bring a knife to a gun fight, its another to get in the middle of one... with a cigar.

To quote one of @Brisketexan early statements that I took as hyperbole (well used) but now see as concrete truth: Cruelty is our brand. I google this and got a thousand references to non cruelty to animal products. I tried other things and got the below from an NY Times book review of Cruelty Is The Point. Ouch. Compliments to BrisketTexan for maybe coining the phrase.

3C. Haven't touched a 7C since maybe 10th grade. Well maybe during marching season, but definitely not since college. Had a Schilke something something at one point, but it was too shallow as well.

Epstein files update (there are no Epstein files)

Correct, and his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein will be Bill and Hillary Clinton’s fault. -
My biggest concerns this year are that: Our WRs legs don't fall off after catching 80 yard bomb after 80 yard bomb Arch's doesn't get enough passes due to him going 7/7, 7TDs, 560 yards and getting pulled at halftime each game Simmons doesn't pull his hamstring celebrating his 50th sack somewhere around game 4 or 5 If we can avoid that, I think we're good.

Holy Crap. The White House edited a video, paid for by U.S. taxpayers, to make it appear that Putin didn't say he wanted Trump in office.

I kept expecting a Woods cameo. strange he's not in it. He could have been a courtesy driver....

You can rent it on Prime, and apparently it is available for viewing in some regions on Netflix. One of my favorite Cohen brothers character actors - Tim Blake Nelson - is the lead. He nailed it. It’s a fun suspend your reality for a bit western with some really great scenes. The casting was superb. And nobody got loved up and turned into a toad.
