  1. Brief summary of the President's mindset over the last 24 hours or so:

  2. Hold up. You’re the dumbass who went on the Football covid thread and claimed we were all horrible for wanting to watch football because we wanted people to die for our own entertainment and now two months later you’re not only watching the games but talking about attending in person? Man, that’s some of the most impressive hypocrisy I’ve ever seen.

  3. EVH was my reason for picking up the guitar and has been my most consistent inspiration for the last few decades of playing. The first time the 8-track blasted out the intro car horns for Runnin with the Devil I was on a new path. I remember riding in the back of my sister's light blue Grand Prix with the stereo turned ALL THE WAY UP for House of Pain. When that E-string starts the bridge from chorus to solo, that car was vibrating and my ears were ringing. First concert I ever attended -- 1984 VH tour. Still have the t shirt. I suffered through the 100 degree Dokken trash fight at Rice Stadium for Monsters of Rock because I knew Eddie was on stage in just a few hours' time. It was worth it. So after working as an usher and as security at the Erwin Center for a few years during undergrad, I worked my way up to getting my one dream slot -- manning the dressing room door for Van Halen on their 1992 tour. My stomach dropped and heart stopped when Eddie walked down the hall. I looked at him and said, "My hero." He smiled and said, "I get that a lot," but not in a douchey way. He signed my 5150 album sleeve and we shot the breeze for a few a minutes. I couldn't believe it. He went in and out of the dressing room a few times, no big parties or anything, just super chill. He eventually came out into the hallway with his guitar and warmed up for the show literally four feet away from me. I was speechless. Eddie was super cool, very gracious, and treated me really nicely. He didn't have to, but he did. A true legend, and one of those rare instances where your stupid naive hopes and dreams about meeting your idol are actually eclipsed by reality. One of the absolute highlight moments of my life. Eddie Van Halen for life.

  5. I have been to the first two home games, and I could do without the team. They've been wearing the same uniforms and playing the same sport for 50 years. Why do we cling to the antiquated notion of a sports team playing football, when the EA Sports NCAA version of the game is available on Playstation? Also, why should there be actual humans in the stands? Those cardboard cutouts look almost as good and aren't nearly as stupid as our fans.

  7. Bahaha you said all this shit 3 weeks before the season. Nothing changed re Covid in that timespan. You believed Covid would kill a bunch of football players and still watched/attended anyways. You’re the one who needs to fuck off.

  10. He’s transferring because people ahead of him play like shit and he doesn’t get playing time. Also when a player who quits mid game only to he rewarded with playing time the next week tells you all you need to know about Herman dog shit ass and his dog shit coaching style.

  11. It fits right in with the MAGA mantra. The evangelicals and rednecks in this country yearn for how it used to be back in the 50's-60's before civil rights when "men were men" and the women were subservient housewifes who were ok with the old man having a few too many beers and slapping them around for talking out of turn. Back when the "coloreds" stayed on their side of the tracks and knew their place in life as a lesser being. It's the same reason why his braindead base thinks wearing a mask makes them look weak or afraid. Even that dumb bitch from Fox was tweeting at Biden about carrying a purse while wearing a mask. The wealthy elites who support Trump could give zero fucks about "MAGA". Their motivations are strictly financial. 40-50 years from now, pictures of people with Trump flags on their trucks and wearing MAGA hats will be viewed in the same light as this:

  21. ok, so let's isolate this for a minute, since we've seen them obfuscate on this one for several days. obviously they don't want to disclose the answer. but why? here are the options: 1. because there might be earlier positive tests, which indicate he had it longer than people acknowledge (possibly during the debate), which would show (even more) reckless and harmful behavior to those around him 2. because it would show that the president doesn't get tested nearly as often as they would have us believe while i wouldn't put it past them for it to be #1, i'm almost sure it's #2. he says he gets tested daily, and tests keep you safe, so he's safe. that's always been their story. as an aside, i'm fine if the president never gets tested. why would he ever have to? if everyone who comes within 25 feet of him is tested and retested 2-3x a day and he's essentially living in a protected sphere, then sure, he doesn't need to get tested. but that's not what's happening. he's bouncing around all over the place, campaigning included. and staffers aren't even being tested in any discernable or organized pattern. they're back and forth from the white house to the eeob and the oeob and the hill and who knows where else (makes you feel really sorry for the families of the staffers/aides). therefore, the president must get tested daily, and wear a mask, and socially-distance. and even if the new test doesn't involve the swab up into the brain, it's still seen as "an imposition", or at least it is to someone like trump. and i'm sure there's someone around whose job it is to say, mr president, it's time for your test. and that person has no recourse when the president says, "nah, not now, i feel fine, i'll do it later." if he's even that nice. i would assume half the time he just ignores him. so now we're left with a president who doesn't feel like taking the test, so he doesn't. and thus, there aren't many test results, at least not recent ones, even if they are/were in fact, negative, which is what my gut is telling me. i think the correct answer is "he tested positive on thursday oct 1st, and his last test of any kind was back on sept 19th, and it was negative. the absence of a negative test doesn't tell me there was an earlier positive, it tells me this president doesn't care about others, or rules, or protocols, and certainly doesn't care about putting his spokespeople into awkward situations where they're forced to lie for him. and once again, we have a situation where the press and the public is now inclined to believe the bigger lie (that trump had earlier positive tests) because they won't ever admit to the smaller lie (that the president just doesn't get tested very often). this is how a child behaves. this is how trump behaves. and now this is how everyone in his orbit behaves. deny deny deny all the way to the end of time. it's like telling your parents that you've never snuck out of your bedroom window, and now they think you're off shooting heroin, when you were really playing video games with your neighbor in his garage. and the idiocy continues.

  22. one of the absolute best parts of joining the LGBTQ community, and especially on the political side has been the inclusion and diversity component. I've lived in two very different worlds in my life. one very, very white. privileged, dominated by men, wealthy men and now a diverse group where the straight, rich, white guy is part of the team but he is not the leader (necessarily) and he is always present but in the minority. But before anyone balks, the groups have multiple representatives of every walk of life, so it's not punitive, it's inclusive. That guy belongs, but he belongs as an equal to the latino gay man, the black lesbian, the trans woman, the trans man, the young people, all of them, all of us. now over 5 years in that community, I can say I'm a much, much better human and I've made tremendous progress in my understanding of what others go through to be where they are. I wouldn't trade my inclusion in the rainbow coalition for anything at this point. It's truly the America of the future, one where everyone has a seat at the table. and the best part is we have more fun together than any other group I've ever been a part of.

  25. This afternoon I'm taking my son (10 yrs old) out on his first archery hunt. I guess it's my first archery hunt also. I did not hunt much growing up and have only gun hunted as an adult. We've got a ground blind brushed in near the intersection of 2 game trails at a corner of our largest food plot. We had a game camera malfunction near it, so I'm not certain what we will see, if anything. I'm amped. I hope something walks out and that he can get a shot. I wonder how much he's learning in school today...
