I had a family friend when I was younger who had a son in east Texas that was very intelligent. He got into Princeton. His dad, however, grew up cheering for the aggies. His son thought he might want to be an engineer, so his dad insists on taking him to ATM to meet with the admissions folks and people in engineering. His son scored like a 1580 on his SAT and had been accepted into anywhere, really. He hadn't yet applied to ATM. So they end up meeting with an admissions person and an engineering school employee involved with admissions. This is late 90's/early 00's timing and both employees that they meet with are crewcut-wearing redasses. They proceed to tell this kid and his dad that the engineering school at ATM is so hyper-competitive that they're not sure he's actually got what it takes to get in and they're not some liberal northeast school that looks only at SAT scores. Both father and son leave the experience asking "Who in the fuck do these people think they are?". He went on to Princeton and tells that story to people these days when ATM comes up. I assume this is a common phenomenon with these goobers.13 points

Actually not true. On this board and even in Congress there was circumspection regarding the degree of Trump's involvement with the Russians. The fury and accusations of him being a traitor followed revelations of his campaigns contacts with Russia and the fact that everybody associated with Trump was lying about them. The circumspect response followed Flynn's resignation, Kushner's back channel communication set-up with Russia, and even initial reports about the Trump Tower meeting. The increasing clarity about the Trump Tower meeting despite the lying about it, the indictments, the convictions, and the continued apparent cover-up triggered the growing vehemence against Trump. His charity has been shut down. He got a 2 billion dollar loan from a crooked bank when his credit was shit, Trump's statement that he had no business in Russia when he had a major deal cooking there is more than suspicious. Of course, an unpublished report has overturned these suspicions. We have a summary written by a Trump appointee and the suppression of the report's contents. All doubt about Trump's character, practices, and possible criminal activity are all cleared up! We got a summary! The "day one" hysteria has been characteristic of Trump's supporters/apologists. Look at the crowing and claims moments after the summary was made public. It's one giant, "See, stupid lib Dems, Trump is cleared of all wrong doing! It was a witch hunt!" Where's the circumspection? The summary does not erase my knowledge of the lies, the evidence that supports ongoing criminal investigations, nor does it erase my ability to draw my own conclusions about a man who surrounds himself with liars, unregistered foreign agents, frauds, and self-serving robber barons. He's a piece of shit who lives for his own gain and glory. He has no scruple. He has no honor. He has not one ounce of decency. He doesn't understand what this country is supposed to be, and he doesn't care. He's the prominent bubo announcing the plague that has infected a substantial segment of the electorate. To stand with him is to bathe in pus.12 points

The biggest issue with the Rivals stuff with the state of Texas is that Geoff Ketchum is an unkempt slug with a penchant for napping during recruiting meetings with his peers and then sneak-eating their sack lunches from the corporate fridge and never admitting to it. He's universally despised by his peers, but they have to keep him around because he owns the subscriber base of bleating sheep on Obloods. Rivals rankings will get more realistic in the future for the state of Texas once Ketchum dies from an aortic split after lodging a turkey leg in his blood stream while eating it whole.11 points

I don’t know why y’all keep engaging with the morons, Sack and OnBoard. They support a piece of shit for president and they won’t ever change their minds. They will whatabout until the end of time. OnBoard is STILL talking about Hillary almost 3 years later. They’re faux patriot losers. It would be hilarious, but they’re joined by 65 million other morons. Stop engaging with them. They’re worthless.8 points

Barr coming in from the stands, intercepting the ball and shouting “touchdown!” is the wrong thing. Releasing the report is the right thing. McConnell shot it down after the full house voted to see it. Once again, the wrong thing. When a Republican with power lets the Report out, you can talk to me about the right thing.8 points

In a way, each of us has a ctj to face. For some, shyness might be their ctj. For others, a lack of education might be their ctj. For us, ctj is a condescending wordsmith who delivers interesting recruiting tidbits. But as sure as my name is elguapo, the posters of this recruiting board can conquer their own personal ctj, who also happens to be the actual ctj!7 points

So for those of you sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for an update on Toothless, the furniture re-upholstery guy who closed his shop in possession of a bunch of my wife's shit he was supposed to fix... after multiple phone calls to him that went straight to voice mail including a threat from me to call the police, my wife leaves one *last* message for him saying something to the effect of, "We've been friends a long time and I can't believe you would take my shit and not even return my phone call, don't make me call the cops, etc." The dude shockingly finally calls back. Even more shockingly, last week he finishes up the chair my wife was obsessing the most about and delivers it. He's still got a bunch of her shit -- an old loveseat that folds out into a bed, a bunch of fabric, another chair and who knows what else. I'm not home when he brings the chair, but my wife decides it would be a good idea to write him a $250 check for the finished work and he "promises" to get the rest of the shit back to her. Me? I wouldn't have given the sumbitch a nickel until all of my shit was fixed and back in my possession, but what do I know about stuff like that? But the worst part of it all was that Toothless drove up in a brand new Cadillac (RIP Joe Strummer) and my wife has been wanting a new car for awhile now. So that sent her over the edge that Toothless has a nicer car than her. So I'm out $250, more future headaches from Toothless, more cash, and probably a new car in the next month.7 points

Indeed. Strictly Russia related: Mueller has evidence that Trump directed Cohen to lie to Congress - Buzzfeed Flynn will testify that Trump ordered him to coordinate with Russia during campaign- ABC Jr had advance access to wikileaks email prior to release - CNN Scaramooch under investigation for involvement with Russian investment fund - CNN Manafort coordinated with Julian Assange in the Ecuadorian Embassy - Guardian Mueller can place Cohen in Prague - McClatchy Cohen prepared to testify that Trump knew in advance about Trump Tower meeting - CNN6 points

Sack is totally gargling Trump's balls now. On a discussion of Charlie Strong, Sack called for his firing for the following 3 reasons: 1) His "low I.Q." (meanwhile, anybody with a pulse know's Trump is a gotdamm moron) 2) He hires shitty assistants and then throws them under the bus (Rick Perry and Betsy holla) 3) He "may" have cheated on his wife. Just a friendly reminder, y'all.5 points

It does matter who the criticism comes from. The President represents the state. When he says it, it is the state attempting to suppress the media. It is a direct violation of the 1st amendment. That nobody in the DOJ or Congress attempts to stop him from doing it is a sign of just how close we are teetering to the edge. When you criticize the media it is not the same thing. You, as a private citizen, are free to do so.5 points

Spring is full of contrasts. Once dry and buffed in, trail conditions are at their peak, but we the riders tend to be at our worst. Right now, everything is dull and dingy, but by May, the trails will be bursting with color. A side hobby of mine is photographing and identifying our local flora.4 points
