  1. Funny story from this morning. My Bama contact was crowing about their big recruiting weekend with a bunch of 5 stars on campus including Justus Terry, then he started going in on me about how Sark said in his recent interview with Joel Klatt that we don't lead with NIL for recruits, but Niblack and Bond left Bama "for bags". I told him that we don't have to lead with NIL or even mention it because there are an army of aggies, roll tiders, and cajuns squeeling like stuck pigs about it and posting pictures of our Lamborghinis all over social media. I said "You are our marketing department dipshit." The lightbulb flickered for a moment, and then he went on a rant about Caleb Downs.

  3. Gerry Lunchtime Recruiting Juice While you guys down Chick-fil-a, figured I would provide some juice to go with it. Dakorien Moore, WR, Duncanville (Texas) High Upping my percentage from 65% to 75% headed into the weekend OV to Oregon. Myron Charles, DL, Port Charlotte (Fla.) High The 6-4, 290 pounder and his mother had a positive call with Steve Sarkisian Monday. This one still sets up to be a FSU vs. Texas decision headed into the OV to Tallahassee this weekend. The Charles' have been in communication with Texas more since the OV than prior. Riley Pettijohn, LB, McKinney (Texas) High My percentage on the 6-2, 215 pound linebacker with a PR of 10.77 in the 100 meters is 70% headed into the weekend OV to Texas A&M. OTF believes this will be a Texas vs. Texas A&M decision with Ohio State third. Kevin Wynn, DL, Greensboro (Ga.) Greene County Wynn had a positive OV follow up call with Steve Sarkisian this week. Wynn's father wasn't able to make the trip over the weekend, but he has since spoken with Sarkisian as well. Texas is thought to have a legitimate shot in this one headed into the FSU visit weekend. Kade Phillips, DB, Missouri City (Texas) Hightower It's Texas or LSU for the Houston area defensive back. LSU's Corey Raymond continues the hard sell at cornerback. Phillips likes that message. Texas is the preference of a couple of people in the circle, and has been for a while. Javion Hilson, EDGE, Cocoa (Fla.) High One thing that hasn't changed since the Texas visit, Hilson's mom would like for her son to get out of the state for college. Experience something new and different. Hilson was once an Alabama pledge prior to Saban retiring and the flip to FSU. John Mills and Nick Brooks OTF is still hearing positive chatter in both recruitments. The duo are on different decision timelines, however.

  4. Not sure where to put this, but on our Big 12 Championship rings, they put FAFO. "Under the crown are the letters “FAFO,” short for “F**K Around and Find Out,” a mantra the team used throughout the season. An inscription with the UT Tower surrounded by the numbers 49-21, the final score of the Longhorns’ win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the championship game, is under FAFO."

  12. Just here to add that someone pulled up oustide my office in a cybertruck yesterday as I was leaving work. I naturally took my sweet ass time hoping to catch a peek at what the driver looked like, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. I'm sad I couldn't snag a picture. After failing to park several times in the normal sized parking spots, the guy took up a reserved spot where he could drive forward adjacent to a wall. Of course they're entitled. Anyway, I didn't have time to stick around to see if they got towed, but I did manage to see what emergered. To the surprise of no one, it looked like a late 30's, early 40's male with khaki pants that I do not *believe* were intended to be capris, yet were. Loafers with no socks, of course. Tight white T-shirt, beneath a blue sports coat that I'm going to say was Cornflower Blue, regardless of that being accurate or not. Gotta love the chic casual sportscoat in 95 degree and 100% humidity weather in Houston. Sunglasses, well coifed hair, and of course a man purse. Yup, that's just about right.

  27. I am starting to think that this is Finland's chance to regain the territory they lost in the Winter War and I dont mean invade.... but threatening to invade could help freak him out at bit. all it would take is Prime Minister Orpo to announce to the Finnish people in a televised address that its time Russia return the land they stole when they attacked a neutral peaceful neighbor 84 years ago. #1, it would cause the Finns to start talking about that, and #2, it would guarantee a Putin "I WILL NUKE ALL OF YOU IF YOU TAKE 1 cm OF MOTHER RUSSIA LAND" response... which would then allow the international community to ridicule the China deal just signed by saying, "its OK to sell part of Mother Russia, but we cant take back what Russia stole?" oh yeah... and suddenly Russia has to repopulate the military forces on the Finnish border to counter the perceived threat... which of course would result in fewer troops in Ukraine. and it would also remind the world that Russia stole a chunk of Finland in 1940 just because Stalin was a cunt.

  32. Elon grabbed onto the whole "comedy is illegal/ cancel culture" trope from the comedy bro sphere who used it as a hot topic from like 2017 to 2021. I think there were some obvious currents of that, particularly on college campuses, but I don't think it was ever as inflated as some as those guy's sense of self satisfaction from grabbing a sense of victimhood. It was also a marketing angle for some mediocre comics with decent but stationary careers, at the time. Hence comedy specials with nonsensical and dramatic titles like "uncancelable" or "on the edge" or "triggered" and other shit that alluded to "watch out, this guy's a badass and he doesn't care anymore." And pretty much every guy I heard moaning about hordes of delicate thought police coming to silence them were doing it on a podcast that had thousands and sometimes millions of viewers. Sometimes they were complaining about being silenced in front of an arena of people. But almost always they were complaining about being silenced while they said it into a literal microphone. But while all those guys whined about it, shows like 'South Park and 'Always Sunny' were doing the wildest cultural commentary I've ever seen on television. And they were doing it right out of the corporate jaws of ad reliant, cable networks. And I'm sure they fielded some angry letters and comments, but nothing fucking happened to them and they kept doing it -- politics, race, sexuality, mental health. You name it, they were fucking with it. "Comedy is illegal" is nothing more than a broad shield to past and future criticism.

  33. This is a painfully stupid post. And it's more painful that a) you're being corrected by BO&W, and b) you're forcing me to agree with him. That is a pride obliterating bitch slap. The North Shore kids for the last 6-7 years have been going elsewehre and flaming the fuck out. Zach Evans, Shadrach Banks, Denver Harris, none of those guys went to Texas and they all flamed out and were notorious headcases elsewhere, often at 2-3 fucking different stops. You somehow equating that with a failure at Texas is fucking absurd. If anything, you're proving the point of other posters, so nice Own Goal there. I won't even bother explaining that a lot changes 20 years ago. ____________ player went to ______________ school isn't a reason to offer a kid.

  34. That was outstanding. Sark talking about all the changes that they've had to navigate brings me around to this conclusion: I think he's conceptualized what is happening and the impact of that better than any other college coach. He may have some deficiencies but, in terms of grasping what's required to have an outstanding program in this new era and utilizing the tools available to him to bring about a successful outcome, I don't think there's anybody better.
