Just think how far we've come in a short amount of time that we are glad a white safety is returning.39 points

What if - and believe me this is hypothetical - but what if he was offered some kind of a stock option equity sharing program. Would that do anything for him?30 points

I think I wrote this elsewhere, but with unlimited coaching roles available for hire, Sarkisian could easily create an "Offensive Red Zone Coordinator" position and hire someone with a proven background as a playcaller/designer in the red zone and short yardage situations. That person would collaborate with Sarkisian and have those circumstances as their main focus. The red zone and short yardage situations have been a problem from day one for Sarkisian. He's fucking inept with those concepts. If he doesn't put in the work to fix it, which is not just film study but actually needed outside thinking and influence, then Texas will never win the whole thing with him at the helm. He doesn't just need to polish up. He's incompetent and needs someone else managing the work in this regard.22 points

The pussification of this thread needs to stop right now. We may very well open the 2025 season ranked #1.21 points

Just for comparison, these were the notable losses between the Washington game and end of the spring last year: Xavier Worthy (NFL), AD Mitchell (NFL), Keilan Robinson (NFL), Johnathan Brooks (NFL), JT Sanders (NFL), Jaylan Ford (NFL), Christian Jones (NFL), T'Vondre Sweat (NFL), Byron Murphy (NFL), Ryan Watts (NFL), Jordan Whittington (NFL), Ryan Sanborn (NFL/desk job), Kitan Crawford (portal), Jerrin Thompson (portal), Trill Carter (portal), Austin Jordan (portal), Maalik Murphy (portal), Terrance Brooks (portal), Isaiah Neyor (portal), Caey Cain (portal), Jalen Catalon (portal). The starters we brought in from the portal were Bond, Golden, Trey Moore and Mukuba. Lole, Norton and Bolden as role guys. 4 portal starters (3.5 considering what Bond gave us) and 3 role players to replace all of that production. Everything else was filled internally or through the 2024 recruiting class. We are losing a lot this year but we've done this before.19 points

Ewers biggest issue was never sliding up a step or 2 in the pocket to buy himself some time. Instead he would run/stumble into lineman or get so close to them that he no longer had room to throw. It's the oddest thing to see happen over and over again.17 points

Teams that bring in top 5 classes every year don't have to rebuild. Alabama and Georgia have been losing a dozen guys to the draft every year for a decade. They might not win 13 games, but stop the hysterics.16 points

Jesus Christ, this is as reactionary as it comes. This will be a very talented team that should absolutely make the Playoff.16 points

Hate to lose guys, but if you told me the only "big" transfers are Muhammad and Derek Williams, I take that in a heartbeat.15 points

Killebrew was also the first name that came to mind for me. But I'm not sure I will ever forgive Wrong Way Gideon for years of pain. Exactly what makes you think we're not prepared, or that the portal season isn't going well? Your concept of a full rebuild is like my son's concept of a nutritious dinner; neither are tethered in fucking reality. We're going to lose less players to the NFL draft this year and we lost last year. Some of the guys you've referenced have been flawed players for us, particulaly 2 I can think of on the OL. Oh, and Williams is leaving but Goosby looked great when he played, so obviously we're totally fucked. I bet last year you were saying "Who's going to replace J'Tavion Sanders? Gunner Helm?!?! We're doooooomed." We have TE's on campus and we've been developing them. Makuba is a loss, Barron is a big loss, Muhammed...eh. Gimme a healthy Derek Williams, and awesome Jelani McDonald, a returning Michael Taffe, and a good looking Kobe Black and someone from the portal. I wont even waste my time adressing WR, the easiest position to land talent in the portal and a position where we're already stacked. DT, everyone said we were fucked this year too. BUT THIS TIME IT'S TRUE. OkJan.gif. No one invites that twatwaffle to parties.15 points

Some of y'all still like to think we are in a roster cycle where Donovan Duvernay is our backup safety and Tim Cole is our backup LB.15 points

don't worry, that board doesnt get much in terms of activity anyway. Just keep smiling as the charge hits every month, and make sure to scream "Burnt Endz Bitch" everytime a tight end make a play.15 points

I was ticked off at Cook’s behavior after he left Texas. But seeing him implode in just a few weeks makes me sad for him more than angry. That dude has some real problems. This board alluded to them for a few weeks, but I thought it was typical surly hyperbole. It wasn’t.13 points
-
Interested in hearing the reasoning behind this because I personally like good offensive tackles who are about to go in the top 2 rounds of the draft. Yes, the penalties sucked and weren't ideal, but he also went from backup to one of the top OT's off the board in the NFL draft in the span of 15 games. He shouldn't have played against OSU. That was painful to watch.13 points

I think FT needs to include the name of this "top banker" since they are liberated now and don't fear being cancelled.13 points

It was part of a place and time. To really enjoy it you'd have to be just done with an exam or a paper, and shuffle there from whatever subdivided shack you paid too much rent on. Squirrels and grackles and dtf girlfriend and "old" pals you've known for a whole year, and you think you'll see forever. It was there for us then. Then.13 points

Background: I serve on my small city’s water advisory board. Theres only two folks on this thing that don’t have at least one foot in the grave. Story: Of course the fires and water system issues come up at our last meeting it isn’t crazy how social media has highjacked society. These fuckers were convinced that California was turning away fire trucks from Oregon bc they didn’t pass CA’s emissions testing. “No, it’s real. I talked with my friend in LA that confirmed it.” Then I had to hear the chairman go on and on about how climate change isn’t real and that the earth goes through heat and cooling cycles all the time right before we discuss the docket item of …….. buying more water rights bc of the prolonged drought conditions we feel aren’t going away! You can’t make this shit up…. Or I guess you can bc people will believe anything.13 points

I swear to fuck. Maybe it is Johntay, but the fact that some dipshit Miami Hurricane fan "reports" this and it gets to Texas message boards as fact makes me ragey. Fuck you, Elon, for ruining Twitter. I mean, let's check out this dude's previous tweet from 26 minutes ago:12 points

OLINE Losing: Banks, Conner, Majors, Helm, and possibly Williams (likely) and Campbell (suddenly less likely). Gaining: Nick Brooks (High School 4*), Jackson Christian (High School 3*), Jordan Coleman (High School 3*), Devin Coleman (High School 3*). No transfers as of today. I think there is one target but I think Flood is fairly happy with the stacked depth despite the lack of experience. Putting aside injuries and any remaining portal changes over the next 8 months, I think most people imagine the starters at oline to look like: LT LG C RG RT TE Goosby Umeozulu Hutson Campbell Baker Washington The guys that will likely contribute a ton in addition in (likely) order of importance IMO are Connor Robertson on the inside, Malik Agbo on the outside, Daniel Cruz on the inside, Stroh, Chatman, Kibble, and I expect Nick Brooks will play some. Overall, we will likely see a slight drop in pass protection inevitably from the loss of experience. Debatable on the run game...we could possibly see some slight improvement there. On the plus side, we may see a 90% reduction in false starts if Williams does indeed leave. DLINE Losing: Collins, Broughton, Sorrell, Lole, Norton, Savea, Bryant (Transfer to Vandy), Finkley (Transfer to Kansas), Mitchell (Transfer to LSU), Bledsoe (Tranfer to MSU), and possibly Moore (not sure on this one). That's a lot of dudes. Gaining: Travis Shaw (DT Transfer from UNC), Cole Brevard (DT Transfer from Purdue), Justus Terry (High School 5*), Lance Jackson (High School 5*/4*), Smith Orogbo (High School 4*), Myron Charles (High School 4*), and Josiah Sharma (High School 4*). The concern here is that for the first time in three years, we won't have at least two 5 year guys at DT. We were incredibly fortunate to follow up Murphy and Sweat's phenomenal year with Collins and Broughton's fifth year in the program...along with adding three 4th/5th year guys from the portal. That is why teams have had such difficulty against us in the traditional run game for the last two years. lots of 23 year old dudes out there. Shaw and Brevard are both massive interior guys with one being a 5th year senior and one being a junior. That should help but we have no idea how they will fit in yet. A lot of expectation for Alex January in the middle as well but it will only be his second year. If Moore comes back, him, Colin Simmons, and Burke on the outside is pretty good shot of confidence along with Vasek. This freshman class is insanely talented and I would expect Terry, Charles, and Jackson to likely contribute. Putting aside injuries and any remaining portal changes, I see it as: E DT DT E Simmons Shaw January Burke/Moore (situational) We will see on Shaw, January, and Brevard. I think you could consider that just a three man "starting" rotation. The guys contributing the most in addition in order IMO are Brevard, Vasek, Terry, Charles, Sharma, Jackson. I am excited about talent at dline and I think we have a legitimate future top 5 pick at de in simmons but this will be the first time in a long time that we are not stacked with a huge rotation of experienced grown ass men in the middle in a while and I fear we may see the first relative success of traditional run game against us in a while. But a healthy and driven Simmons does make that a bit harder scheme wise. As does Moore and Burke. The recruiting nuts are going to be extremely excited about Justus Terry with good reason but 18 year olds at that position being dominant is rarely a thing. I suspect he will flash though.12 points

These defense industry lobbyists need to be in the Oval Office day one talking about what great advertising for US defense products this war is and how much money they’re making for America and somehow figure out a way to let tfg know he can get his beak wet too. It’s ugly, craven, and corrupt, but it’s the only way the people of Ukraine will get US support the next four years.12 points

Overnight, more than 100 drones attacked Russia, with explosions reported in 12 regions. Fires broke out at the Orgsintez plant in Kazan and an oil depot in Engels, while explosions were heard in Tambov, Voronezh, Tula, Orel, and Rostov regions. Airports in four cities were closed under the “Carpet” plan. Russian sources claim up to 200 drones and ATACMS missiles were involved in the attack12 points
