"Transferred to Tarrant County Jail" is the most fire transfer portal destination so far. Better than that kicker who was transferring to real life to be a porn star25 points

Not to get off topic, but Ryan Leaf is the poster child for bouncing back after hitting rock bottom. He's 14 years sober, works for facilities that counsel former players on addiction issues, has a radio show, and is an advocate for former players. Pretty good interview I read a while back. Always like to see a good comeback story, I dunked on Ryan Leaf as much as anybody. https://www.golongtd.com/p/q-and-a-ryan-leaf-is-the-lighthouse24 points

I think it’s beyond disgraceful that the parents of the female co pilot of the Blackhawk felt it necessary to release their dead daughter’s resume just to keep the FOTUS from publicly disparaging her for being his DEI culprit.24 points

For someone who has said a lot of stupid shit, that ranks up there. First, nothing is "essential." If we want to live like isolated cavemen, we can make do. We can cut all government spending, and live as warring tribes, with no utilities, roads, anything. Humanity will survive as roving bands of hairless apes, we've done it before. Second, the relative cost of something has very little correlation to whether it's essential/necessary/very helpful. I am on the top floor of a building constructed using modern techniques. I suspect that the cost of the bolts used to connect the girders that form the structure of this building was less than 1% of the total construction budget. But if you suggested eliminating that item from the budget because, after all, if it's just 1% of the cost, it's "non-essential," I'd ask that you give me a chance to vacate the fuck out of the premises before you do so. Tying cost to whether it's truly valuable is dumb as shit. Shit, I am on a medication that's essential to maintaining my health, and its cost is less than 1% of my annual budget. By that measure, I should drop it, as it's "non-essential." How stupid.19 points

Attorney at a federal agency here. Question is now when I quit my job, not if, after previously looking at being there for the foreseeable future. I’m just trying to figure out how to maximize my interests in getting out. The delayed resignation offer looks and feels exactly like the Nigerian prince scheme I almost fail for when I was 14 and my HR department is complicit in it. It’s insane and the attack on the federal workforce is the Canary in the coal mine for what’s coming—-and has already started—for the rest of the company. We are over the ledge boys. It’s been a pleasure standing on it with you.16 points

Because.... ...This. If what was announced was "we are going to perform a full and transparent audit of the spending of USAID [or any other agency]," functionally everyone would say "cool, go for it." That, of course, is entirely different than what is actually happening. How about you speak to what is actually happening, instead of moving the goalposts and concluding that expenditure X is by definition non-essential because it's under 1% of the budget?15 points

I've seen this happen in real time, and it is absolutely heartbreaking. We had a 19 year old midshipman from the Naval Academy experience a complete break while on a summer training cruise on our ship. Poor kid was absolutely convinced that there were "dark" people on the ship who would kill him if he went to sleep. One day he was a motivated USNA mid with unlimited potential, and the next day he was cowering under a table in the crew's mess. At this point, as heartbreaking as it is, I hope this is what is going on with Johntay, because it can be treated and managed. Being a general fuck-up is much harder to diagnose and fix.14 points

So sad. I won’t be surprised if it comes out he is bipolar or schizoaffective. Drugs are often used to self medicate by these folks. And he’s the right age for a break13 points

The DOGE stunt actually turning out to be Elon Musk just holing up with a squad of 19 year old college dudes and going on an agency-by-agency crime spree is pretty much the only thing I haven't completely expected out of this admin so far. Maybe that's on me. It's hilarious to me that our resident aggy posters love to throw around the phrase "unelected bureaucrat" as a boogeyman but are cool with all of this because orange man say so. We've crossed the Rubicon into full banana republic territory.12 points

Guys, you'll be shocked to know that someone has slipped into my DMs to call me a meanie. I'm not goint to say who, becuase that would be mean and I don't want to be known as a meanie online. But it's super serious and they wanted me to know I'm a little person on the internet and they're super succesful and an actual graduate from UT, which apparently I'm not. I might need a hug. And some more lube for this dildo. Of course it's company policy never to imply ownership in the event of a dildo... always use the indefinite article A dildo, never MY dildo12 points

Remember how all the MAGAts loved to yell about how they are "strict constitutionalists!"? Yeah. I remember. The movement is nothing but a fascist authoritarian movement, bolstered by white and christian nationalism. That's it, that's all that's there. Don't bother trying to find nuance, there isn't any.12 points

no, he's an internet troll. always has been. See, current protracted discussion over sex-ed in sub-Saharan Africa after getting called out for spreading Russian misinformation about Ukraine Funding. He moved on immediately after being called out and will not address it going further.12 points

It was all fully transparent until it was taken down after it was proven that the in contraceptives that went to the Gaza Province in Mozambique, not Gaza in Israel, and a other province. You are the dumbest motherfucker on this website.12 points

Just getting caught up on this thread. For context, I'm married to a Canadian, have lived in Canada, have half-Canadian children, never miss a single Maple Leafs game all season long lest I run afoul of my wife (but also really enjoy it in spite of myself), and hang out with a number of Canadian celebrities regularly thanks to my work and marrying into a well known Canadian family (it's a bit like rubbing elbows with a mattress salesman who is known locally in the metroplex for their commercials on the CW, if that mattress salesman also had some Emmys and Grammys to go along with their Geminis and JUNOs). Holy shit, man. Everyone, at one point or another, talks out of their ass about topics they don't know much about. I know I do. But you, sir, are the Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Derek Jeter, AROD, and Thurman Munson (combined) of Dunning-Krugering. Congratulations.11 points

Ah, resorting to personal attacks and homophobic slurs. The true sign of a poster with the intellactual horsepower to handle criticism and think critically. I also enjoyed your unintentional self-owns, which of course you wouldn't know typing, becuase you seem to be that breed of poster that talks more than takes account of the actual posters on the 995 board, what they've said, and what they've done. It's spelled logorrhea, not "logarehia" you fucking twat. And yeah, the unentiontal comedy of ME allegdly shitting on someone else for posting a lot, as well as having to correct their spelling, is high fucking comedy. You won't get it, but everyone else here will get it.11 points

Not so much. Rather, that's RT's interpretation of his statement that about $100 billion did not flow directly into the Gov's coffers, but instead went to humanitarian aid orgs, and other related entities, including US companies its funny though, when you google the "loss of 100 million" the only results are RT and other Russian alligned media sources. Then you come here, and its you and Sack parroting that same line. Curious.11 points
