another penalty that should not have been given.

and then not even a card on Lamela.. i don't get it.

That was a clear pen. Should be given 10 times out of 10. (At least - if we're going by how games are actually called and not how people think they should be)

Might not matter - City will probably bang in 3 more here.

yeah, that is my issue these days... 90% of the time, it is the offensive player fishing for contact.

Defender has to be smarter there. Play the ball when you're inside the box and don't let him draw that contact. Oh, and now both talking heads are going to say why it shouldn't have been given 😂

Again - Spurs are just outclassed here. 1-0 reflects what's been put on display - although Kane gave them a scare.

one down.

this season is done and dusted.  give City the trophy right now.  they'll beat Tottenham again in the League Cup final.

they're in the quarters of the FA Cup. and in the last 16 of Champions League with an easy path to the quarters.

City has a good shot at winning 3 trophies this season.

They do. Although I'd still say odds are they don't.

It's getting hard to imagine Pep not going down as the GOAT.

erroneous.  the mighty toffees will take care of them in the quarters of FA.  not to worry!

Hadn't noticed midtown's issue but it's probably related to Klopp being a whiny bitch. Pretty common among European managers, though, so no biggie.

This.  Everyone treats him like some saint.  Just enjoy pointing out that he's just as cunty as all the other managers.

Did Klopp fuck your wife or mother? You really have a weird fixation on him.

Was driving, so I missed all of yesterday’s action (call me Gareth Bale). I do not see how this isn’t a penalty.

i would love to know how you say this shouldn’t be given.

Awesome early first goal from WBA put ManU on their heels.

i am no Man U fan, but when the offensive player wraps his arm around the defender's head and his hand over the defender's eyes, kinda seems like a foul.

Hojbjerg plants his right foot on the pitch cleanly and Gundogan's right foot hits Hojbjerg's right ankle.

usually a good way to get your heart broken. I thought for sure Liverpool would get the equalizer in the 80th minute and the winner in extra time.

Hasanhuttl is a good manager. Somehow he is setting up this team to succeed. I wouldnt say Southampton has a ton of talent on this team (not like the Koeman years)

Still think Saints end up anywhere between 9th and 12th.

I realize you're sandbagging a bit but you're also underselling the amount of talent in the current Southampton squad. He's out for a few weeks but Vestergaard was arguably the best CB in the league prior to his injury. Ward-Prowse is the best dead ball specialist in the league and Ings and Adams are a legit strike partnership. Romeu is underrated as hell. You guys should finish right around sixth or seventh, depending on getting/staying healthy.

i wish i had been sandbagging. Southampton haven't earned a point since this post/beating Liverpool on Jan 4th.

6 straight league losses. Currently, In 13th place.

We still thank you for beating Liverpool. You can hang your season on that. And you're still alive in the FA.

My god, what an utterly predictable and on-brand result today. Fucking Everton, always two steps back when there’s an opportunity to seize.

there are times they look like world beaters and times like today when they step on their own dicks.

i don't particularly care for Everton, but i would love to see some chaos during the last month.  and that would include Everton being in contention for Europe.

oh well, monster match in the Derby next weekend.

Yep. They clearly pointed it out on during halftime on NBCSN. VAR sucks.

I really didn't see it this way. From what I can tell Gundogan pulled the ball back with Hojbjerg playing at a ball that was no longer there. There is contact, which Hojbjerg causes because Gundogan stepped back. At that point Gundogan does go down probably on his own, but given that there was contact, why not to try and draw the foul, which he does.

NBCSN showed it in slow motion from a very good angle. Gundogan's foot steps on Hojbjeg's ankle. Hojbjerg starts to stumble and his back leg hits Gundogan's ankle. The NBCSN studio show was unanimous it was not a penalty.
