45-3 the last three years with two heisman winners and like 14 first round picks:

How have you been recruiting and I assume you've been in the CFP every year? It can sometimes be a bitch if you don't know how to game it, it took me probably 5-6 cycles to really get the hang of how to maximize my chances. Obviously I was playing Tech and I had to grind out like 3 nattys in a row at the beginning of my dynasty before I started getting a critical mass of great players interested enough off the jump. Now I'm like 10 years in and I have to fuck up real bad to not get 7-8 5-stars each recruiting cycle, starting out top 5 every season and have been 99/99/99 rated for the last 3-4 seasons.

I feel like I could write a damn book on how to game recruiting now but it's pretty easy when you win a bunch of nattys in a row. I also realized that scouting and picking the right dudes rather than just looking at their ranking is actually a lot more important than it seems at first.

this is the team that just lost to oregon in the title game:

this is my incoming recruiting class:

i cleaned up at the top of the rankings:

basically the first/main thing i did was max out my HC’s recruiting capabilities, so i’ve been killing it in recruiting for a minute now. i target all the best 5* players at positions of need, i then target as many guys who have me in the their top 3-5 as i can, i throw a ton of hours (75-80) at all of the best targets, i schedule visits as early as possible, i sign as many top flight guys as i can, and then after that i use my remaining hours to go very hard after the 4* and 3* guys who still show interest, plus a couple late offers on guys who i hadn’t offered originally.

im great at recruiting to my style, which again is a power rushing attack and huge/athletic defense, mostly because i am impossibly bad at passing. like, four int’s in one half bad at passing. it makes for some close and entertaining games,  it every time i get to the NC it feels more scripted than anything else.

Yeah it looks like you just had one of those seasons where you lost a big chunk of players off the top right at the end.

Interesting approach to recruiting, personally I don't bother targeting anyone that doesn't have interest and I fully scout everyone I target just to make it feel more real/immersive, and I dump all the potential busts. That way I don't have to dump a lopsided amount of hours into most prospects, with a few exceptions here or there. I generally end up with 7-8 5-star guys and 20ish 4 star guys every season now. I haven't signed a single 3 star in probably 5-6 seasons besides an occasional rare exception at a high need position with a potential gem or kickers/punters.

I force every upperclassmen that hasn't climbed out of the high 70s or low 80s to transfer, unless they are actually needed for depth. I also redshirt as many players as I can get away with, down to the minimum required 3-deep at every position besides WR and CB, and aggressively manage my depth chart, especially at all the niche spots like RRE.

I recruit to basically the same style, I run the veer and shoot with a heavy emphasis on the run, short passes, screens and RPOs. I have found that (at least against the CPU) that passing the ball deep is almost never worth it unless they are single covered and very obviously have their man beat. Otherwise I run a lot of slants, crossing routes, stop routes, and screens with heavy emphasis/usage of RBs and TEs. Usually about 55% pass/45% run, depending on the opponent. I've only recently started using RPOs a lot more, they're a bit tricky but very effective once you get the hang of it.

A couple of interesting things I've noticed are:

  • I think my style of play has made it difficult for me to recruit top-shelf QB talent, as I haven't had any first round QBs (I don't think) and all of my Heisman winners have been RBs. I also haven't been able to close the deal on a single 5-star QB to date, although this cycle I think I may land my first. I think this is pretty cool and lends a degree of realism to recruiting. I've always had solid QBs but there haven't really been any superstars in there yet.
  • The transfer portal seems pretty light every cycle, I've certainly pulled some great players out of it but compared to real life it seems a bit slim, and I don't think I've ever seen a 5-star prospect in there.

Also, nice coach name lol

In my 11th game, up 28-0, my Florida opponent got kicked after multiple pauses and delay of games for “griefing” — a first, but I love it.

12-0 online, heading into CFP.

@ Oregon. I can’t do fucking anything offensively. He’s sitting on my drag routes. Picking my 1-on-1 shots. Hitting Arch immediately off the right side. Stuffing my run game. I’m down 13 points with 90 seconds to go, using my time outs, just maintaining a glimmer of hope. He throws a deep ball and Jordan Johnson-Rubell (who?) gets his 2nd pick-6 of the game to make it 21-27.

We recover another onside kick. I’m now 2 for 2 in NCAA 2026.

We go empty the whole way. In hurry up, with 10 seconds left and no timeouts, Jack Endries gets stood up after catching a slant at the goal line and muscle fucks his way across.

I’m immediately hit with a DM from the salty loser: “LOL u got bailed tf out. That onside kick and last td was straight EA forcing you to win”

How should I reply?

BYU has a starting QB named Bear who will be throwing to his WR brother named Tiger.

Both were committed/enrolled to Stanford and later transferred to BYU together.

Disappointingly, their older brother, also NCAAFB athlete... is named just boring old Hank.

this game is so frustrating to play “competitive” or ranked it just decides which team is gonna win no matter what and forces it to happen

This is why I just play dynasty. I have no interest in trying to cheese my way through ranked matchups. I like it to feel at least somewhat real.

About 20-30% play more realistic. Lots of others run 3 or 4 plays only and have ways to exploit or adjustments. Then sometimes the game itself just decides to fuck you or hand you wins.

Nobody online really runs the ball much because it doesn’t work worth a fuck this year. Typical percentages are 70%+ pass

I was the shipping manager for a manufacturing facility.

It’s the same when you play the computer too. Can’t have you win too comfortable.

Last year, you’d practically get cussed for trying to play realistic football online. Guys would get pissed if you ran the ball a couple of times a drive.

I am in the year 2045 (or so) in my latest dynasty. To me, it is the most fun I have had. Just a little reminder of how I play. I play 1-2 games every season, sim the rest. To me, it is just a good way for me to "escape" and let my mind be numb. ANYWAY, my favorite dynasty so far:

  • Started as the real head coach at Memphis, Ryan Silverfield. Not sure why, just wanted to see how it was different than making my own coach. Spent about 7 years at Memphis, got into the CFP once. Switched between a few offensive playbooks, but finally decided on the Mississippi State playbook.
  • Decided to try and help Mississippi State become a national power. Took them to 2 national championship games in....I don't remember how many seasons I was there, maybe 6. Lost two national titles in-a-row, so I decided to leave for The U. Their coach retired and they were rated as 99 offense, 98 defense. I thought, "no way I can screw this up."
  • In my 7 seasons at Miami I won 4 national titles. I am now a legend. I also finished my last season with the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation. First time ever.  But, something was missing. I had grown too safe and comfortable and wanted to challenge myself. So, I left.......for Louisiana Tech.
  • I have just started my first season at Louisiana Tech. Using the same Mississippi State playbook, I think we can build this team like we did with Memphis. Their returning QB (Can't remember first name, but last name is "Awesome") is an 85 overall dual-threat QB. He is going to be, you guessed it, awesome.

The veer and shoot plays are goated in this game. The wide split RPOs are almost impossible to stop.

My biggest complaint about 2026 is the stupid ass receiver animations. I cannot tell you how many times I get on top of a defender and catch a pass downfield, only to have the defender dive into my back and my guy just tosses the ball in the air backwards as an incompletion. I have seen it where it throws the ball 10 yards into the middle of the field for an easy interception. Makes me want to rage quit every time.

So I have about a 35-21 record online.  Most of the losses came at the start because I was playing this game like last years.  You can run the ball forsure and I have a 40% run and 60% pass average.  Where I saw the biggest jump in my ability to win was I like to play a lot of cover 3 and 4 zone  and was getting picked apart.  This game is broken as far as blitzing.  Now I blitz both LBs to bring 6 and play man with either press or over the top depending on where I am on the field.  The opponent will have 1-2 seconds to make a throw or get sacked.  They will get big plays but I find myself winning more than not.  When I get them into 2nd and 3rd and long…. I show blitz but then play zone to pick them off.

Offensively, I play 12 personnel under center.  When they creep their secondary to the line to play the run, I audible and run a streak/fade with Wingo and it’s a TD every time.  I do run play action sometimes but have to be careful because there are times I get sacked the minute I take the handoff.

I do run a lot of the 3WR spread flex formation as well that has a lot of good stuff.

I stay away from the RPO stuff.  I’m in the 3rd or 4th highest tier now on ranked, I think sophomore tier maybe.  I’m like 15-5 in my last 20 games running the strategy above.  Running the ball on the them will make them rage quit bc they’re put in conflict on defense when you do pass.  I find people that pass 70-80% of the time easy to defend.
