I like the guy, but his reasons for us being number 2 is...dumb. We threw shit on the field because the refs are morons. Do I condone it? Fuck no. Is that a reason to make us #2? Also no. His take was lazy.

The rest was pretty good. They definitely have aggie too low.

Does anyone care what other fans think about us?

This list basically just follows the SDS poll they put out before we even joined…but he’s less annoyed by aggy, Oklahoma, Auburn, and more annoyed by LSU, gamecocks, and ole miss.

I guess there’s a swath of people out there that go berserk when presented with horns down?  Because we see it at every sporting event against anyone. And in Texas you’ll see it at every inappropriate setting where an aggy knows you are a longhorn. Work, wedding, funeral, wherever.  It has zero significance anymore if it ever did.

aggy cares

That's why they lead the SEC in hospitality while giving opposing fans directions to Pyle Field and record self-serving and ridiculous "Welcome to the SEC" videos.

I think it's hilarious.

My favorite horn downs moments include:

Texas isn't even playing. Horns down is basically the OU hand sign. They sell a TON of merchandise licensed from UT. A&M fans are constantly using the horns down sign, too. I think it's great!

Teams we don't play on a regular basis. The horns down sign - started by OU fans in the 70s but it's grown because of television and various stupid controversies - is so universally recognized you'll see opponents like Michigan fans throw the horns down sign for the television cameras because it's such expected behavior. Why would anyone get upset about that? That's terrific!

Texas is crushing the opponent. It is so fun to see the horns down hand signal when we're beating the other team like a drum.

Any time Texas is mentioned, and the first reaction is to throw the horns down sign. Especially when it's done to me personally, but not just then.

My least favorite horns down moments are when Texas fans make a big deal out of it, like it's some kind of sacrosanct gesture being defiled by heathens. Give me a break. It IS sacrosanct to me, but I don't expect others to feel the same way about it. Rodney Terry in particular needed to STFU. He later apologized, which I'm glad for, but no coach or administrator should be making any kind of deal out of it. It's embarrassing. It's embarrassing when fans get offended, but at least they're not official representatives.

I guess if I was at a funeral and we were all singing the eyes and then some goober threw the horns down I'd have to kill him, but I wouldn't be angry when I did it. It's just something that would have to be done. But if Aggies or Sooners had a wedding cake with the horns down on it, I'd just laugh. Have at it! Give me a slice. Let me eat a piece of your obsession with us.

The best part is neither of those two idiot fan bases "invented" Horns Down.

It was Arky back in the 60's

SEC Network hack Chris Doerring can go fuck himself. Smug ass bastard

What did he do now?

Also, I forgot about this one but last week I was driving and listening to Doering and Burns because XM 84 had some boring coach interview going.

At one point, Burns said that Texas didn't really impress him with their entry to the SEC last year.

Doering, to his credit, said "Really? Because I was expecting them to have to make major adjustments across most sports and they really outperformed what I was thinking and won the Director's Cup."

Burns replied "Just focus on football, they didn't impress."

Doering: "Well, they finished in the top 4 of the country and went further than anyone else in the SEC."

Burns: "You know what I'm trying to say."

Peter Burns is the absolute honkiest of the SEC honks. He's also not very intelligent and fails to fathom that. He's talks as though he's smarter than everyone else in every segment and he's constantly wrong and completely myopic. Doering is terrible, Burns is worse.

Lets never forget that Dusty Dvoracek once claimed a medical redshirt year for alcoholism, AFTER he was kicked off the team, for beating his best friend and roommate in the head with a baseball bat.

Holy Shit, Hugh Freeze looks like hammered dogshit. No wonder that motherfucker was coaching from a Hospital bed, clearly he needed his scotch infused through an IV. This guy is transforming to George O'Leary before our very eyes.

This prompted me to look up George O'Leary and then to deal with the subsequent shock that that resume padding motherfucker is still alive. 78. Wow. The fucking Irish, man.

First I've heard of him. Maybe he's miffed he couldn't make the cut at the flagship. An inferiority complex is consistent with trying to act like the smartest guy in the room.

Burns, a native of Baton Rouge, La., attended The University of Texas at San Antonio and St. Mary’s University, where he was a member of the golf team.

Dvoracek has turned his life around and he's also not a completely biased, mouthbreathing sooner like so many of his ilk in the media. Biased when discussing OU? Sure. Biased when discussing Texas, unless it's Texas/OU Week? Not really. He's a great color guy for CFB and he does an excellent job on his show. He does his homework.

Does that make what Sydney pointed out irrelevant? Absolutely not. The guy did all of that shit and Stoops let him come back anyway.

I'm merely pointing out that multiple things can be true at the same time. He's not a pure okie honk like Ikard, Knowkah or Plank. Those guys cannot help themselves when discussing OU or Texas and they often get to have national platforms when doing so. I lend a lot more credence to Dvoracek's opinions on the sport, programs, players and coaches than I do the other guys. It's similar to the LSU honkers like Burns or Caroline Fenton versus Jacob Hester, except Hester didn't get shithammered and beat his best friend into a coma when he was younger.
