Now that's unfair. If you grow up in Oklahoma you get infused with Injun-ness from sweat lodge smoke and peace pipe fumes.

I submit to you that General George Custer had a deeper and more life-changing experience with the First Nations.

Certainly more pointed and his final insights were likely quite penetrating.

Townes Van Zandt was notorious for telling deliberately horrible jokes. One of his favorites towards the end of his life:

One of Custer's Indian scouts rides up to him at Little Big Horn and tells him there are many, many Indians heading right for them. More than likely Sioux.

Custer breaks out his spyglass and looks at the vast horde thundering through the dust at him in all directions.

"Well, it ain't necessarily Sioux."

After a few beverages with some family members who run in some higher-level Dem circles this past week, I shared my take that the Dem nominee in 2020 will be Hillary Rodham Clinton.  Because if there's one thing the Dems have proven skill at, it's shooting themselves in the dick.  They started to argue back pretty strong....but then came around to saying that they certainly couldn't guarantee that it wouldn't happen.
Yep.  Hillary 2020.  "I'm with her.  Again.  Like it will do any fucking good."  Makes for a long bumper sticker, but I see it happening.

Jesus Christ, brisket—and you were so fucking lucid just a few hours ago.

100% guarantee Dem, Inc. will choose a neoliberal. The owners of Dem, Inc. will want a candidate who is an expert at virtue signaling and expert at getting the rich - richer.

The base wants a New Dealer (the last New Deal President was Richard Nixon/Gerald Ford).

Dem, Inc. will give them another neoliberal (Booker, Harris, Biden, Clinton, Holder, Gillebrand, Murphy, D. Patrick, McAuliffe, Cuomo). Dem. Inc. still hasn't learned the lesson of 2016. DINO's who champion "welfare for the wealthy" and "austerity for the rest of us" are toxic outside the East and West Coast citadel cities.

Trump hatred, while strong, goes hand-in-hand with disgust for those who pretend to know how the poor feel cold (while listening to ethnicky jazz on their five grand stereo). See Joe Crowley's defeat last night.

Dem Inc. and Repub Corp. hates populism - right or left - at a time when millions upon millions have nothing. Aging Baby Boomers without savings and Millennials loaded with school loan debt desperately need a big fix. No help is coming from Dem Inc. Buffett will make another mint using his tried and true vulture capitalism while Dem Inc. gives him a reach around with another bought and paid for candidate who does not care how challenging these times are for a large chunk of Americans.

This is the right answer, unfortunately.

I don't see it changing until the United Corporations of America suffer through a Bastille day.    Which isn't going to happen as long we stay occupied with our phone games, netflix binges, and daily sports telecasts.

That said, if the next Corporate-spokesperson-in-chief stays off twitter, they'll get my support.

Now back to "Idle heroes' and binge watching twelve monkeys.

Right now, subject to change... I’m at:

1. Warren

2. Harris

This is who I’m pulling for and not who I think will win.

Bernie needs to get behind one of these candidates and not run but I know that motherfucker can’t stay away.

That's where I am. Joe Biden is too old. I'll vote for Elizabeth Warren if she's a candidate when the Texas primary rolls around.

Charlie Sheen played an Indian which  also makes him more Native American than Warren.

For that matter, so is Bob Uecker.

It must be hard for you to come to grips with the fact that, day-by-day, your hero proves to be not only suffering from dementia but a traitor besides.

What a monumental psychological bitchslap.

She's almost 69 and would be 71 in 2020.

When are the democrats going to look at what works rather than trip over their dicks.

Billy boy -- 46 years old

Obama -- 47 years old

The country doesn't want old retreads.... They should let that be the oppositions strategy.

They truly are struggling with leadership and a future face of the party.  Warren, Biden, Bernie.  They're all poor candidates who aren't going to get independents excited.  Maybe they don't need to be as anti-Trump sentiment may be able to get them mobilized regardless, but fucking A, Democrats.

And it's not going to fucking Hillary Clinton.  That's silly.

Yeah, that's not going to happen.

Biden is a #MeToo disaster.  Have you seen those creepy fucking pics of him fondling female kids and women at photo ops?

Also, there's only about a million gaffes to bring up from his past to torpedo his candidacy.  Like the whole "a slight Indian accent" thing or telling a wheelchair bound Senator to stand up.  Dude's an old fucking moron who trips over his own dick every other time he opens his mouth.

Dems don't stand a fucking chance in 2020.  Either they get a far-left loon who will send everyone not on the West Coast and New York right back to Trump or they get a milquetoast loser with lots of baggage that a guy like Trump can eviscerate with his WWE style of campaigning.

Their best shot is impeaching Trump before then so they can run someone against Closeted Gay Guy Who Feels Icky Around Women or hoping Trump decides not to run again.

Donald Trump is going to lose bigly in 2020. He is the Hillary Clinton of that race. People can't wait to vote against him.

I’m not going to be too picky about the democrats.  Just please no Bernie, although I would vote for him over the Republican.

Hugo must work for the DNC

Seems like the same thing we heard in 2016.

If the economy falls off a cliff before election time, no doubt, he's toast.  If it doesn't?  Yeah, most Presidents tend to get a 2nd term.  And while I'm sure whomever he's up against can beat him in the popular vote because of California, how'd that work out for Hillary?

Trump sucks at being President, but he's great at campaigning.  And guess what?  The MSM, for all their supposed hatred of him, will do the exact same thing they did for him in 2016.  Which is to give him billions of dollars worth of free air time and coverage.

Trump's base isn't going anywhere.  All the poors who voted for him LIKE everything he's doing.  So all he has to do is the same thing he did last time.  Convince people in the middle to not vote so he can squeak out wins everywhere again.  And trust me, he'll have plenty of help making that a reality from the DNC.  The average American enjoys this shitshow.  They see all the hysteria in the media over Trump and they think it's overblown and are just enjoying the schadenfreude and the lowest unemployment numbers in forever.

The Dems have to run someone who excites their side while not alienating the middle.  So that means Biden, Warren, and the old guard are out.  That means the SJW, identity politics, Bernie Sanders Socialists are out.  So who the fuck are you going to run?  The Dems have developed no platform or real plan.  Their only play is "Fuck Trump!"  Which I guess might work, but will more likely just result in this next election having even lower voter turnout than the last one.

If I were the Dems I would seriously consider playing into the whole “Trump wants to make himself king” narrative and scare the living shit out of people. It has the added benefit of probably being true, so it will be very difficult for him not to play right into the narrative when the nominee starts referring to him as Your Majesty and shit like that in debates. Added bonus: highly entertaining.

Have you not read how they are mouthbreathing morons who will end up right where they started: voting for trump cuz owning the libs and the beaners taking their jerbz?

Yeah, but more people don't like what he's doing. He has a record now, and it's awful. Sure he has his base, but he can't win with his base. He needs the people who voted for him because he wasn't Hillary Clinton. One of the biggest problems he's going to have is the fact that she won't be on the ballot again.

Imagine a world where Donald Trump is on the ballot, and you think the OTHER guy is the one with #metoo issues.

The Democrats may not have a platform but they do have a resolution, thanks to DNC member Christine Pelosi.

Democratic National Committee (DNC) will no longer accept campaign contributions sponsored by fossil fuel companies.

Quote

"Fossil fuel corporations are drowning our democracy in a tidal wave of dark oily money; they have deceived the public about the impacts of climate change, fought the growth of clean renewable energy, and corrupted our political system," the resolution reads.

So it was the fossil fuel corporations who corrupted our political system? Shame on them for forcing our politicians to take their money. And who thought of using the phrase “dark oily money”? If they were trying to sound like Trump on Twitter---they succeeded.

Bullock-FB.jpg

I saw Steve Bullock give a speech and Q&A.  That fucker is a great candidate, who knows how to grab a crowd, and how to frame issues that are not us-versus-them rants.  If I was a Republican (I mean a real voting one, not just a registered one like I am), I'd worry. about that guy.
