Lol, can't imagine why a Dallas fan would want to lampoon only Harden and overlook Kyrie being a fucking weirdo antivaxxer and antisemite. If literally any other all-star was in Brooklyn instead of Kyrie, Harden doesn't request a trade out of there. Anyways, have fun rooting for that guy Mavs fans, and just hope he doesn't run off Luka before that 375m extension is signed.

I think if you gave that guy complete anonymity to say what he thinks of Irving it would be as brutal a takedown as he did on Harden. Since talking about the Mavs is how he pays his bills I think we’ll have to wait until Kyrie is off to his next team to burn down.

I also don’t think it matters who Harden is teammates with. He has zero understanding of anyone outside of himself. He does share that trait with Kyrie.

Kyrie actually has been pretty fun to watch for the Mavs. He's mostly behaved pretty well since he's been here and is a good complement on the floor for Luka, since he can take over at times and gets the rest of the team involved in a way that Luka doesn't. Sure it could all come crashing down st any time- but such is life

The Kyrie hate is overblown. Some of his previous teammates might not be his biggest fans but most players love him. The Dallas media have no problem with him. Other than that it's a bunch of social media generated hype amongst casuals. It probably helped Kyrie that his issues were framed as Ky vs the NBA FO.

Oh man, Mavs fans are actually talking themselves into this.

Maxey put up 50 tonight and Embiid had 37 in their 137-126 win against the Pacers. Maxey got whatever he wanted tonight. The Pacers really need someone that can protect the rim. Heckuva performance from him. I will be shocked if he isn’t a 2nd team All-NBA this year at the least, barring injury of course. He just needed Harden gone to really kick it up several notches. I thought he could’ve done this last year had he had the freedom he now enjoys with Nick Nurse coaching him.

Sound on.

It's always nice to see Draymond get put in his place.  And Ant is looking like he's going to be a fixture on All-NBA teams for the foreseeable future.

This was great, Draymond doing his usual dumbass tactics and Ant being like shut up. Nobody cares about you. Nobody is here for you.

Dray scored a whopping 9 points while passing up about 20 wide open 3s. 3-7 shooting.

he was definitely baiting ant into his second technical, but at least he can say he had the best seat in the house for this ant beauty

You guys got a real one with Ant.  I love watching him play, except against the Nuggets.

We can see the impact of coaching very clearly in this graphic.

Udoka to Houston and Nurse to Philly (sans Harden) are massive, massive upgrades from a year ago and the teams are responding.  Whatever you think of Udoka as a person, he can coach.

Conversely, we're seeing that the Bucks are trending in the wrong direction with Adrian Griffin.

the bucks are so stupid. maybe the entire team hated coach bud and i’m unaware of that fact and he just had to go. but if that’s not the case then milwaukee made one of the dumber coaching moves in recent memory.

Whole lotta words there to remind everyone he has skin that’s thinner than peak Mack Brown.

It’s all fun and games until someone puts a microphone in front of him and he reminds you that he has an IQ of 12 and that everything is a vast conspiracy to him. He’ll wear out his welcome in Dallas just like he does everywhere else. When Luka gets sick of him either Luka will ask out, or far more likely, Cuban jettisons him to the hinterlands to play for the Wizards.

Golden State is desperate for a guy who can occasionally score 20 in an NBA basketball game who isn't named Steph, but not a single person misses that idiot.

How they maxed that dude after having him in their building for multiple years is still baffling. Like, they had no idea whatsoever that this wouldn't be one of those guys that works even harder once he gets paid?

I was thinking about Harden (34) and Dame (33) struggling and something that is rarely said is LEBRON IS THE EXCEPTION.

You know what Jordan was doing after his age 34 season? Retiring.
You know what Isiah was doing? Golfing.
You know what Jerry West was doing? Having the worst season of his career and retiring.
You know what Oscar Robertson was doing? Having the worst season of his career and retiring.

Kobe played 41 games total in his age 35/36 seasons.
Gary Payton was a journeyman

It's tough to play into and past your mid-30's.  Especially someone like Harden, who parties at an epic level.

I wonder if coaches use the Wizards to motivate their players. Guy not doing what he's supposed to be doing, better shape up or we're sending you to the Wizards.

Frankly I'm impressed by the restraint he is showing.   I thought for sure he would be getting up 20+ shots/gm.   He thinks he is a "made man" and has said that in recent interviews.   He doesnt give a shit about anything but getting up shots and collecting checks.

Truly one of the most lopsided trades of all time, and the Warriors never paid a dime of that JP extension. They didn't even send some cash to help cover Pooles ridiculous contract. It's still unbelievable that the Bullets accepted that deal for a couple of bad picks. They could have gotten more for CP3.

Traded Chris Paul to Golden State (GSW) from Washington (WAS) for Jordan Poole, 2030 1st round pick [Top-20 protected] , 2027 2nd round pick, Ryan Rollins and Patrick Baldwin Jr.

Not sure about that as this trade probably didn't move the needle one way or the other for both teams.

Washington was going to be terrible, with or without the trade.

And Golden State's time is at an end, with or without the trade.

The Warriors dumped a 130 million in money committed to a player that's not worth more than an MLE, for a 30m expiring deal with a player that will positively contribute. All for a top 20 protected 1st and a 2nd. A typical salary dump costs a team about a 1st for every 15-30m in salary dumped, and the tax savings from this is enormous for Golden State. There are very few teams that would have been in a position to take on Poole's 30m a year, they should have asked for more picks at the very least.

Yeah, dumping the salary is certainly a bonus for GS though Washington can afford it as they are going into full tank mode (and who better to do it with than JP?).

But so far CP3 is looking as cooked as Klay and shooting the 3 about as well as Wiggins (both in the teens).

But "one of the most lopsided trades of all time"?  I think that's a bit hyperbolic.

It's not just the salary, the tax saving is HUNDREDS of millions for the Warriors. I didn't have time to calculate it earlier, but here's some napkin math for next year:

Warriors in 2024 have about ~140 million committed without Klay and CP3 on the roster. If they were to re-sign Klay for 25m a year, then they are right up against the tax with 165m committed. Assuming all of Poole's 29.651 million was repeater luxury tax, it would have cost the Warriors 164 MILLION $ in luxury tax in 2024 alone! That's not including 2025/26, which is 2 more years to go and escalating salaries of 31 and 34m.  There's also a more significant penalty as a team goes further into the tax, every 5 million costs more, so if they continued to try to compete and sign/trade for contracts, it only exacerbates their luxury taxes. The trade was a ginormous win for the Warriors by dumping a future 3 years 95 million in salary committed to a shitty player.

This is what that 2024 salary tax looks like:
